I've not read the thread but does anyone know who the big black guy was on the bench behind Pardew? Could have been Campbell but he was on the bench wasn't he? This guy was in an overcoat and scarf.

How much do we need to spend in the summer to make this a good deal? If we hadnt sold him I would have hoped for £5-10m spent in January and £15m or so in the summer. Considering we only bought Ben Arfa and therefore made £30m in January that means I would be looking for £40m plus spent in the summer but I highly doubt that will happen.

Sounds to me like we tried to sell Carroll to Spurs for £30m+ and they told us "No chance, maybe consider £25m". To which we released that we rejected a £25m bid from them.

Less than 4 hours to go, I can't see anyone getting to Newcastle, agreeing terms and passing a medical in that.

It will be interesting to see how long it is till he's fit to play for them. Gut feeling is that he will play against Chelsea and the thigh injury was never what it has been made out to be.

Wickham would be a nice addition for the future. Trouble is you just know we will end up with no one, Crouch or Cole, and I am not sure which of those 3 is the worst option.
