It was men against boys today. And the men got beat. Typical. For a team everyone bums, Blackburn were diabolical.

Totally agree on the point made about Duff: still baffles me why he is in the team: I don't know what kind of game he had today, but whenever I've seen him this season he hasn't set the place alight: he dithers on the ball too long and slows our attacks down as a result: Ball came to him in the first half, ten yards of space in the penalty area, only the keeper to beat, what does he do? Waits till he gets closed down then fires a tame shot straight at the goalkeeper. He'd already missed an open goal because he didn't have the spine to use his right foot. I hate him more than I hated Jenas and that's some fucking acheivement. Sell him, loan him, kill him - just do not let him pull on a Newcastle shirt again.

Played well. There's a shock.

At least Michael "What a great finisher" Owen has the guts to come out say he missed three sitters. No surprise to see Duff not come out and do the same. If Martins and Charlie play today, we win at a canter. Owen's legs have gone and Duff's a gutless disgrace who should never play for us again - but then he should never have played for us in the first place.

Fair enough. I'm still not convinced though. As I say, it's always the same with footballers. They say they support someone, you can guarantee someone will swear blind they hated them. Seems odd to me that he'd be touting himself as a Boro fan despite having been on Newcastle's books for four years at that time. I'm not that arsed though, I don't rate him.
-
He's a Geordie. No he's not. Correct. Born in London, Boro fan in his youth. Some Geordie! Where did you hear about him being a Boro fan? It's the unwritten rule of footballers. Whenever they say they supported the club they play for, they REALLY supported someone else. So Downing supported Newcastle while Ramage and Taylor supported Boro, Sir Bobby Robson was a mackem and Steven Gerrard was an Evertonian. In truth, it's all bollocks.
-
Course he's a fucking Geordie.
-
No it isn't, Poyet seems to do it a lot and I'm sure he wouldn't be happy if other teams were openly speaking about Spurs players as transfer targets trying to unsettle them. Probably because the bloke's a Grade-A cock. Yes I'm bitter.

There is no one in the squad who stands out as captain material - only maybe Beye and Faye and they were both away when Keegan arrived. It's a pretty arbitrary post anyway, let's face it.

betting scam FACT Nah that was Pearson.

Enrique playing is great, but then playing the Irish waster in front of him completely nullifies it. I despair.
-
Divvn't knaa about Carroll like but the rest definitely. No-brainer.

Christ, you'd think Blackburn were Barcelona. They're not that good and they're noticeably shakier at the back than the teams around them.
-
Not really. The reason they're down there is because they can't play good football. West Ham weren't saved last season by Lee Bowyer kicking people and snarling but the class of Carlos Tevez. Perhaps they'd have been safer earlier if they'd bought Alan Smith and played him instead, we'll never know. We're down at the bottom because of players like Smith with zero ability other than "effort" and lunging into tackles. These players will get us in deeper, not save us. The pundits peddle lines like "he's the type of player you need at the bottom" and it usually refers to the players who got you down there in the first place by being absolute bollocks.

When did Martins score 8 goals in the La Liga? Actually i ment for a club in the best league in the world (the premiership) and i ment his overall goals . If you think that La Liga is the best league in the world you can fuck off over there. My bad, the Premiership is the bestestest cos it's dominated by the "Big Four" and that, innit. As opposed to La Liga's big two?

Wish he bloody had.

How ironic that when they genuinely have reason to have a pop at us, they get it hopelessly wrong: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/sport/football.html?in_article_id=522188&in_page_id=1779&ct=5 Proof that we need to sell Smith super sharp while some people in this country still think he has any talent whatsoever.
-
Even accusing him of lacking motivation is totally without credence. Oh, sorry he's foreign, forgot about that. The lazy greedy fat bastard.
-
It's a ludicrous myth that because you're down the bottom, you have to make some sort of concerted effort to play shite and kick lumps out of people. It doesn't even make sense.
-
Probably because the influence of the big decisions in those two sports are so massive. Football's obviously not a high scoring game and an incorrect dismissal/non-dismissal in cricket can have a huge say in the result.
-
Aye, he missed one game, must be faking injury. Just can't trust those blacks can you Sniffer?

I doubt it more than you Greg.
