I don't know many people who rate Nolan highly, in fact I don't know anybody. Wasn't long ago at all that he was being touted as an England replacement for Lampard or Gerrard. I only found out they didn't rate him when I went on their forum to see what they had to say about Fat Sam joining us.

As mentioned in the 'other transfers' thread, Kevin Nolan and Matt Taylor fit into this category. I reckon the main ones we've had recently are Parker and Jenas, Dyer would have fit into this a few years ago but probably not now. Perhaps our outside fans (Spec, brum and co) can think of some of theirs. Anyone think of any others? Personally I've always wondered if Morton Gamst Pedersen is all he's cracked up to be.

I think that's wishful thinking on your part. Although I agree about the paper in general. It's been awful for almost as long as I can remember. Vent Your Spleen excepted. Whenever you see advert for journalist jobs in the paper, for the Chronicle or the Gazette, they ask for journalistic qualifications, which is scary really. The standard of writing through the whole paper is lower than GCSE, apart from Oliver, who I don't believe would pass the English 11+. Bet there's dozens of members on here who could do a better job with zero qualifications.
