Does Redknapp do it? I totally agree btw. Football still has this attitude of "they're young lads and can do what they like with their money", but as you say, they're very highly paid athletes now, it's no longer a case of Jackie Milburn doing a morning down the pit, playing at SJP, then going for a few in the local and smoking a pack of 20. I dont think Redknapp has a ban on it, but he has a very dim view of his players drinking. Ferguson too, there's an interesting piece in his autobiography about how one of his first major moves at Old Trafford was to clear out some of the heavy drinkers. McGrath was a fantastic defender but Fergie saw him as one of the ringleaders of a drinking culture and he was quickly out on his arse. For me, its a combination of drinking AND the nagtive attention you will inevitably attract being a footballer and out on the lash at 2am. A few pints in a quiet bar is one thing, sloshing it up on Collingwood Street is quite another. Especially after a defeat, something that really pisses me off.

I forgot were not allowed to sign anyone. Silly me forgetting all these new rules imposed by Newcastle Online on NUFC. Not having Lovenkrands surely forces Ferguson and Ranger in to the 1st team, something we'd all like to see, no? Hardly rules imposed by me, imposed by the idiot running the show certainly. But how many players do you expect us to sign if we give half a dozen away? We're already struggling to put a team out.
-
Who's going to replace all these players we're giving away, particularly Lovenkrands and Ameobi?
-
Atrocious for the second goal but there was still a long passage of play between that and the goal, I'm more pissed off with Campbell's ridiculous header. Don't blame Harper for any of the others, unless I'm missing something? Also kept us in the game against Everton, don't forget.

Looks like he could be a canny player. Might be worth a few quid in a year or two.
-
We can't offer clubs to take them for no fee? Is there a new rule stopping this? The player has to agree to it. Is Alan Smith going to get £60k a week elsewhere? If not, then he won't go anywhere. Why would/should he?

Don't see the point in slagging him off, particularly personal attacks. We had a £35m striker, the manager thought having a healthy bank balance would help the team more in a fight against relegation. We had a fit Ranger on the bench, the manager thought Lovenkrands was a better option. We have Routledge, the manager thinks Lovenkrands is a better right winger.

Under Hughton: 19 points from 16 games = 1.19 points per game Under Pardew: 17 points from 14 games = 1.21 points per game This includes crediting the Liverpool game as being a Pardew win, which is a hell of a stretch of the imagination (even according to Joey Barton who said it was nothing to do with him) but I know his fans will want that added on. Was this "improvement" worth sacking a manager for? Hughton was clearly learning as he went along, he'd come so far from when he took over. Pardew was meant to have "experience" and he's making the same fucking stupid mistakes over and over again. Utter clown, and that's being kind.

I very much doubt that. Rubbish. It's any excuse to stick the knife in and start twisting, talking as if those that aren't sharpening the pitchforks are delighted with the current situation and love the fact that we didn't sign anyone in January. Give over man. I hate the man with a passion and I'm absolutely furious about today. Nobody is "happy" about this.

For this season, better the 35M than an injured player who has yet to score after sold. For next season, depends on what is done with that 35M Aye, because Carroll wouldn't have been any sort of goal threat (whuch now barely exists) for us once he was back fit. Unbelievable. Some people are beyond help. I'm just stating facts, since his recovery, he has yet to score or get an assist for a team that is playing much better than us. You're just speculating He's played 16 minutes of league football ffs.
-
What is it now, 1 league win in 9? 10? Upgrade? Fucking ignorant cunt.
-
Absolutely. Should have ran the detestable shit out of town from day one.
-
Rushing players back from injury before they're fit is reminiscent of Souness.
-
Surely that went without saying?
-
I see Routledge is starting for QPR... we're well rid.
-
Jesus fucking Christ.
-
Er, you seem to be conveniently forgetting that Carroll wouldn't have been available anyway this season on account of that career threatening injury he's got.
-
No doubt you'd all have claimed it was absurd to suggest Gonzalez had been signed as a favour to an agent at the time too.

We've had a shitty attitude to cup competitions for a long time, from top to bottom. Weak sides, sub-par performances, fans only too happy to see us binned out to "concentrate" on another fruitless league campaign.
