  1. Other fixtures this weekend, with those around us should really spur us on. Strong possibility teams below us will not get much, plus Leeds v Everton, Brentford v Palace etc above us. 3 points would be massive and a move towards those above us, if things go our way. Cannot wait.
  2. To an extent the concept of not disrupting a winning team, is not a bad one. However, you have a squad for a reason and you play to your respective strengths based on what is in front of you. I agree, Bruno might (hard to know yet) offer a little more against a very dynamic midfield. I dont think he should be picked just because he is new and cost £40M but should be picked if his respective strengths are better, which in this case, I think they might be compared to Shelvey.
  3. I dont get all the negativity. Yes, they are a good team with some great players and are playing decent football under Gerrard. However, they just conceded 3 against a team we shut out and won against recently. We have positive momentum now, a team that has not lost in 4 (in the league) and we are at home, and the fans can and will make a massive difference. Not saying it will be easy, but think we should be going into this with a sensible level of optimism. If our best players perform like they did the other night, we can definitely take this one to them.
  4. Guess he is not allowed to play against Villa!?
  5. Brilliant debut. Watch the game again
  6. Bruno has been here 4 days!!!!! Chill TF out!
  7. Fuck the negatives. Focus on the positives. New players, sold out, under the lights, massive atmosphere, momentum.
  8. Unlikely Brighton would agree to that, or that would have been included in their statement. The time period (probably 6 months) pretects them from IP being taken and targets they might have lined up. I would have thought he will join in the summer. That said, they could have agreed a non-compete but that would be hard to track/enforce.
  9. Hope it is us and not Everton! I would have thought he is on 6 months gardening leave personally.
  10. Really got to win this and take advantage of the feel good factor going into this. We should be better defensively, which should give the players in front a bit more freedom, especially with Bruno playing. Its really a case of can we convert the chances we will no create.
  11. Agree, but our front players should be a lot more free now, with a better defense and Bruno. Think we will see more from them now, including Willock

Half a medical today, half yesterday? Are they doing it in two parts as he is so tall?
  13. Here in less that 2 hours on a flight - loads of time.
  14. That is big money for January by any standards. We are essentially speculating the losses (and some) that we would incur by going down (c.£50M+) to hopefully ensure it does not happen, which we have to do. All the players signed, and indeed those that might, would all make the squad much better. We would have a strong chance to staying up IMO now and most of these will have a role in next season too. Be interesting to see who leaves today as well, hoping for Clark, Hendrick and Kraft for starters. Would then go down as one of the best transfer windows ever, surely.
  15. This lad sounds like exactly what we need, what a cracking insight that thread is. If he is as good as it says, he is going to be immense. Fair play if we pull this off. Wonder if there are any others in the pipeline this impressive.
  16. He definately still has my vote, for now. BUT, 1-0 at home to a shocking team and we must kill that game, at all cost or shut up shop. The fact we have not had a new manager bounce, defence has got worse (at best on par) and we are not scoring anymore (despite his approach) is pretty worrying. The squad is turbo shit, and half, if not 3/4 need to go, that's not his fault. We are either more ruthless or we shut up shop and counter, at the moment we dont do either remotely well. I'm an opptimistic person, however, the drop seems very likely now as nothing has really materially improved, albeit there are some areas that look marginally better. We need results.
  17. Doubt that will make any difference now. No way will be here and signed by tomorrow, which he would have to be.
  18. Like Longstaff did? Sure there was nothing in that agreement other than he will train. Agree, if he is not going to get minutes there is no point him going.
  19. Not blown away with this BUT we have literally no strikers, even when fit. We need a focal point and he offers that, and will score some goals. If he helps us stay up and becomes our 3rd/4th choice after the summer, I have no issues with that what so ever. Total joke we have 1 striker, Gayle does not really count, so get him in.
  20. Looks ok as a prospect but certainly not someone who we should rely on this season to get us out of the shit.
  21. That result will have one of two outcomes. A big fat kick up the arse or they implode. No getting away from how shit this squad is, fucking useless.
  22. Not so much a critisism but why not start one of the young stikers today and have a proper look? Not saying they are the answer but in the grand scheme of things, if you are going to lose a game like that, you may as well try something different.
  23. This. However, they should be doing alot better than that, irrespective.
