They need to sell by tomorrow.

I just heard Raúl de Tomás might be on our radar today.

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

I would keep him here for the first part of the season. With 5 subs, we have more flexibility to bring him into the team. If he needs more time away, look at a January loan move to a top Championship team. -
Agree with most of this. I think Murphy will be kept on as he is reasonable cover. Not sure Howe will show Wood the door just yet as we have no other backup! It is going to be a really challenge to shift that lot, so they have their work cut out! Most of those players seem like reasonable people, so hopefully the pull of regular football will be enough to see them go but as it stands, there does not seem to much noise about many of them leaving! Shifting them significantly reduces our outgoings which will give us further FFP flexibility moving forwards.

They have had 6 months to work that out so should be fine.

We are not going to finish above City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Tottenham. I feel we are very much in the pack of Man U, West Ham, Leicester and possibly Villa if they get it together. Hence, finishing above them would be a great achievement. 6th to 10th should be the target. With the current front line, would say more like 9th-10th. Bring in a couple more 6th to 8th could be achievable. We sinmply cannot go into the season with just Wilson and Wood and our current RW players.

I cannot see how our budget is anywhere near being spent yet. My main reason is that pretty much everything we have spent so far, aside Bruno is entirely defense related. Whilst it was very definately needed, Tripps, Burn and Targett already made a massive difference. So to conitnue spending there (and only there) would not make any sense to me, espcially spending another £50M in Pope and Bottman. Howe has already said we plan to be more expansive and so on, so we need to the players to achieve that. There is no way the club can afford to go into the season with just Wood and Wilson. Hence, one or two more (Striker and RW) are a priority now and the two are likely to cost anything up to and including £100 unless we pick up a couple of lower (Hugo) level deals. Conclusion - Edwards is full of shit (perhaps I should have just said that).
-
Totally agree. We have enough "quantity" we are already going to struggle to shift.

Not interested in Lingard at all. He is clearly more about the money than game time, otherwise he would have left MU years ago. He is good but not worth smashing our wages structure to bits just because he is free and demanding loads of cash, even if we can afford him.
-
Thauvin he went on to do great things!!
-
He has had the weight of literally a whole team and club on him under Bruce. He was literally Bruce's no 1 tactic (and only one). Pre-season with Eddie and better players and be should be a different player. Needs to improve in certain areas for sure. Lets see.
-
I personally think the Dummett contract was more about transitioning him into another role in the club, when he stops playing. He has hardly contributed much recently as a player, so that can surely the only logical conclusion.
-
I agree but he is a highly professional and he needs to be. Think he is going to be a very busy lad this summer, I suspect with a remit of fast tracking our recruitment (in and out) and taking away some of that focus from Eddie, so he can focus on getthig everything in place for pre season training and friendlies etc. Bring it on.

Out of interest, do player loans have any impact on FFP? Not that is will be so relevant next season (hopefully), and I guess the resulting fee would go against fair play. Just a thought as it would be mental to put them all out on loan, only for some to come back 12 months later, with a lower value (shorter remaing contract). If they are all on an obligation to buy deal (subject to performace), we just have to hope they work out! I It could be an effective way of reducing the squad and some of our montly costs.
-
I dont think we have trouble atrracting players. Bruno will be a very good advert for us, especially if similar age/profile.
-
Really excited by this appointment. He is a class act, who will in time completely transform this place alongside Howe. In terms of getting rid of players, really not sure that is his role! People either want our players or they dont! In terms of those most likely to go, I think it will be: Ritchie Clark Fernandes Darlow Manquillo Hendricks Gayle Possibly Murphy Lewis I suspect Howe might fancy a bit more time with these two to see if they can develop further or not.
-
I love Miggy, but £60M? He will be on relatively low wages and is well liked, so I think he will probably stay next season, as a squad/impact sub who will work hard. He is not starting 11 material but one I would probably keep. That said, if a reasonable offer comes in, I am sure he is likely to go as I am sure Howe would make it clear, he is unlikely to be a starter if he stays.
-
We will spend, but sensibly. We need the commercial contracts in place before we spend big IMO. I reckon a net £150m spend with a target of top 8.
-
Would people want him here out of interest. Not sure I would. 31 next year and would take a huge amount of cash to happen and would restrict us developing the squad elsewhere.

Emil Krafth to leave club at end of the season (Official)
Dan Gleebals replied to Nobody's topic in Football
He has really improved under Howe and is a good backup for Trips. Hence not an area we should be to concerned about this window. -
I agree and hope its not true.
-
Ffs. Hope this is not true. A mate, who is very well connected (agent) said its a done deal before it hit the press. I laughed and bet him £100 no way. Then its all over the papers. Hes finihed. Eddie every day of the week. Looking at the vids again from last night, he did look a bit subdued. Please no.

Who. Gives. A. Fuck. No longer our problem.
