Pre-season specialist Haris Vučkić joins FC Twente

Not good news. Wish him a full and speedy recovery. -
Sky linking us with Burnley's Charlie Austin - along with Aston Villa.

Clever move, but the cynic in me says that has been done to curry some favour with the masses. Bet the Sports Direct tat will stay and it'll be interesting to see how much the deal is worth. Still not gonna buy the shirt, mind.

mackems vs Newcastle United - 21/10/12 @ 1.30 pm (Live on Sky)

Ask any genuine Mackem and they will verify that they are terrified of Shola. -
Pretty much every game, Otter I would say.

Got it wrong again today from the start and seeing as it's been a habit this season, then that's worrying. Needs to take a hard look at himself, IMO and what he is trying to do at present. If it's about keeping certain players happy (ie Ba) then that needs to stop.

Showed some spirit but once again it highlights that we had a very poor summer transfer window, when at least one class centre-half should have been sourced. On this season so far, mid-table beckons - just hope we have a good go at the Europa League and the FA Cup. -

Gonna cost us here for an awful first 20mins when it was men against boys, both from the players and the management. Pardew got it so wrong, but has at least change it and we look more solid. -
I'd imagine this 'Wonga' news will have boosted their spirits after their pasting today.
-
Not surprised if this turns out to be true. As has been said, it's the start of an international break and the next home game is 3 weeks away.
-
As struggling as they are, we don't want to get too over-confident when we go to their place in two weeks time. We need to remain focused and do what's required rather than take the 3 points as a given. Am sure Artie will have them fired up.

I think Waddle is OK - but not when he's working on our games. The mackem shineth through.

What was going on with their fans, lads? Looked to be loads of stewards in the away end from what I saw on TV! -

Only caught the 2nd half after getting in from work. Good performance, good win but was surprised at how poor Bordeaux looked. Were they any better in the first half? -

Ba's first goal - what a sexual finish. -

Very poor performance today and another get out of jail card played by Demba Ba. Yeah we have 9 points, but so far this season we have looked so worryingly out of touch. Bar the 2nd half v Everton, has there been a game where we thought 'Aye - we were great'. Lack of investment in the summer is part of the reason for the malaise I think and unless Pardew tries something new, it's gonna be a mid-table finish and the good work of last season will have been undone, due to Ashley choosing to 'play it safe'. We exited the League Cup down to a lack of belief and commitment - is the Europa League to be next and for it to be treat with what Artie Ziff did when he was at Villa? Because look where that got them. Will be interested to hear what Pardew has to say on this one - some honesty would be nice. -

It's all moot anyway. Not exactly a great prize pulling Chelsea away, even if we had won last night. Let the Mancs get on with it though I'd hope that we now see stronger Newcastle sides in the Europa League. -
Vuckic and Sammy could do with loans, but the weakness of the squad means they have to stay for the moment to provide back up. Hopefully Paul Dummett will be getting similar good experience up at St Mirren at present.

Yup - good shift tonight from the young'un. Looks very promising.
