Agreed. From what I've read today, it would seem that the ambition is to preserve our PL status and nothing more. It will of course be interesting to see just where the Carroll cash has gone when the accounts are due, next year. As has been said by some, the club is in real danger of losing many supporters through apathy, the recent trickle that jack it in (which has been substantial) may well become something of a deluge. Such fans may well be hard to win back in the future after years of being sold empty promises and lies.

Not surprised by this in the slightest. Ashley can't run NUFC the same way as he runs Sports Direct though blatantly he is trying to do so.

If Enrique goes, a new LB is a must and even Ashley can't be so dense as not to see that. If that is done, I reckon that will be it. We will have a squad which is much weaker than the one that started last season.

We could do with George Caulkin coming out and asking questions of the board, etc. He has been unusually quiet of recent. I can understand the local rags needing to keep the club onside, but who do they write the paper for? Is it for the club or the people who actually buy it?

Even though I rarely agree with anything he posts, I do enjoy discussing stuff with him because he's sound. Yup - Ian fights his corner well. Definitely a glass 'half-full' kind of guy. Not sure of his age, but he is devoid of the cynicism that many older black and whites like me (30 years now) have developed.

Decky - that's what was said by some fans consistently during 2008/09. Ignore the past at your peril, especially when it is so fresh in the mind.

As things stand, we are knackered. A club that consistently sells it's best players is only headed in one direction.
