I actually think it'll be the usual damp squib tomorrow - the Mancs to take a meek game 1-0. Will still be watching though.
-
Not sure if many have heard about this, but it seems that Wayne Rooney made some comments ahead of tomorrow's game against Liverpool, which went up on the Man United website and were subsequently taken down. In the interview, he confirmed his 'hatred for Liverpool' (being an Everton supporter and a Man United player) and that he'd take great delight in ending their title hopes tomorrow. Seems as if someone at Man United objected to it and it's been taken off the site so as not to create more tension ahead of tomorrow's game. It is a case of censorship being taken too far yet again? I don't have a problem with what Rooney said (from what I read about it) He speaks with passion and that is good when passion seems to becoming a lost art form within the game. What say you's?

Blatter "has concerns" over strength of Premiership
Big Geordie replied to Fugazi's topic in Football
I think if the pattern continues (English clubs dominating) that the move towards the next inevitable consequence will become all the quicker... a European Super League which will probably replace the CL. It's been talked about for years and if clubs such as those from Spain, Germany and Italy feel they are becoming left behind, then they will push for it (for a bigger slice of the pie) All in all - doesn't bode well for the future of football, IMO. -
Hull City vs Newcastle United - March Sat 14 KO-15:00
Big Geordie replied to Skirge's topic in Football
That's the worry for me - that our lot aren't prepared to knuckle down and scrap. I saw nothing of that when I went to Bolton and Blackburn. The likes of Hull and Stoke will mix it up a bit. I'm not sure our lads are that bothered. Yes we played well against Man United - but also remember that it was an opportunity for those players (who played) who want away, to put themsleves in the shop window for the summer. -
Nah - Jenas in Malaysia was even worse than that.
-
What's the betting on the 4 English clubs being paired together in the last 16?! UEFA will be desperate to avoid another all English final.
-
Deeper and deeper in the clarts. Hull simply a must-win now.
-
Yup - was bad that night. Couldn't even see the Leazes End from the Gallowgate, so christ knows as to why it kicked off. Think they only played about 20mins or so.
-
Was it not fog that got it called off? Nope - not that one. Think you might be mixing that up with the FA Cup replay against Bournemouth, which was either 90/91 or 91/92. I went to that game as well - and no, we didn't get our cash back Was half price for the re-arranged game though.
-
Doesn't really bode well for the rest of Europe, because the CL will become as predictable at the Premiership - despite what the likes of ITV and Sky tell you.
-
I went to a game against Oxford, back in 90/91 when there was 9500 there. Game got called off at HT due to it pissing down (score was 1-1 - Mick Quinn scored for us) Should never have started.
-
Didn't catch much of the Liverpool game, but the result is one helluva pasting for Real. And with Chelsea getting through against Juve - is the gap between the top 4 english clubs and the rest of Europe getting as wide as it is with them and the rest of us in the Prem?
-
I'd hope the club never goes down that road, but I wouldn't be surprised if it happens. All PL clubs would sell their own grandmother, if they thought there was a few quid in it for them.
-
Gateshead are doing very well - don't they have a millionaire backer though? Will be interesting to see if they can survive Conference football on the piss poor gates they get. That said, Ian Bogie has done a superb job. Puts Blyth to shame really, as we've done f**k all since our FA Cup run and look in real danger of relegation.
-
Need to get the lad sorted with a much better deal. He's been our 'find' of the season and has put in some sterling performances at DC. I hope it's merely agent tittle-tattle, but knowing this club - we'll do our best to screw it up.
-
Shearer would be mad to touch this job at the moment and also there's no way he'd be a part of the club under Ashley's regime. As for MotD - he'll have to keep his preference in check, otherwise there would be a shed load of complaints. He was nothing but a fantastic servant to the club, during his time here. Why some folk choose to stick the knife in at times, is beyond me.

Remember fellas - this is the NotW. Not well known for having their fingers on the pulse!
-
It's the whole idea about paying upfront for players (no outstanding debts) and waiting for income from player sold. Ashley will be able to tell potential buyers that there will be income coming into the club over a period of time from players who have been sold on (like Given, Milner and Charlie) The club is still very much for sale.
-
Even if we do stay up, for me it's only delaying the inevitable and next season will be another struggle. The intent of those running the club, is to run it on what amounts to petrol fumes until a buyer can be found.
-
I think Supermac had something to do with us signing Mirandinha. Not sure if he brokered the deal or not.
-
When he first joined the club, he was given a house in Bedlington (on The Chesters estate) Regularly used to have kickabouts with the little'uns who lived around there at the time. Loads of my old schoolmates had his autograph. Really sound bloke by all accounts. Also remember Gazza taking him 'under his wing' and teaching him all of the English and geordie swearwords!

Was a shot in the dark, if I'm honest.
