  1. I can't imagine the likes of Shepherd or Moat wanting in this - they'll want more control for investing more cash. 1+1 isn't something they would be interested in. The more and more I think about it, I 'could' invest some of my pension from my days when I worked at the Uni. I'd have to check it out with the wife first, however.
  2. Whether Ashley is prepared to listen or not will depend on how much the NUST have available to buy him out for. I can see him being vindictive over it and squeezing every last penny he can out of them before he agrees to sell. He's a c**t.
  3. I think it's a good idea and I hope it attracts enough interest to make a go of it. Unfortunately, I don't have the spare cash to become involved (my little girl comes first) - but I wish the NUST well. At least they are trying to do something, rather than give in to the apathy which affects many of our fan base.
  4. More about raping the club, IMO. That was the intent.
  5. The atmosphere on the Leazes 'Curva' was excellent yesterday. Reminds me of days long gone when I used to stand in the Gallowgate Corner/Scoreboard. Makes me want to get to more games, despite what's going on with Ashley - hoping to make the Swansea match too and back up in L7.
  6. Because what might be a couple of thousand young'uns now might snowball into something bigger if the pressure is kept up. Protests can work - what's required is patience to see the job through. What we could do with is the local rags onside a lot more than they have been.
  7. i know of at least a few who didn't want to protest before the game lest it affected the team. Well it clearly didn't affect the lads did it, so that's a bit of a pish poor excuse!
  8. Foster - I went to the protest before the game, and headed home straight after. Two reasons, am not well and I wanted to see the bairn before she went to bed. I did my bit today. I'm just bemused by the amount of apathy towards the situation that there is out there. Too many people who might whinge to their mates, but when push comes to shove they take the buggering off Ashley with no protest. That's whats wrong.
  9. It's easy to attack others for protesting (particularly youngsters) when you aren't prepared to do anything yourself. What is it with some folk? Customers and not supporters, IMO. Content to watch whilst the club is pulled down around them.
  10. At least they where trying to do something constructive rather then bitching on a forum Ive got better things to do that stand round a bunch of chavs trying to get in the press tbh What better than fighting to save your club Pissing in the wind, amigo. Much rather piss in the wind and get wet, than sit around bitching and dismissing anybody who wants to try. What happend to this country, we used to always have the stomach for a fight, now we just huff and say what can i do to change things. Oh I agree with you. My comment was directed at who you were questioning - Ashley apologist.

  12. Lots of spare one's in the Milburn posh seats, as well as the East Stand/Gallowgate Corners from what I could see.
  13. Played well today and I enjoyed my first time in the Singing Corner. Lots of songs and a cracking atmosphere - throat is a little sore now. Turned up for the protest before the game - few folk there, but as said previously plenty of young'uns desperate for the media attention. Did owt happen after the game?
  14. Yup - I was at the Fenhurst back in Jan. Not good and the arsehole element of our fans did themselves no favours.
  15. I would hope that the players would know what the hostility is for and who it is aimed at. Surely they can't be sitting that daft in their ivory towers? I bet most of them hate him too secretly for the way he has ****ed them about as much as us.
  16. Blef The apathy that exists in many of our 'fans' is the real danger and this is what Ashley has been building his campaign on. People who might whinge to their mates in the boozer, but will still turn up, buy the tops/food at the ground and accept what they are given. These people are the 30000 customers that Graeme Souness commented upon some years ago. I'm no lover of Souness, but in this instance he is right. Too many fans who don't care enough and will happily bend over whilst Shepherd/Ashley gives them a good buggering. If more people climbed off the fence and joined in the real opposition to the regime, then he would be worried. Until then (as the poll suggests) - it's not going to change any time soon.

Hodgey - he said that his family had received threats after the Keegan business. The Chief Constable of Northumbria Police was asked about it and he said he had heard nothing. And guess what - nothing happened afterwards. It was another lie to deflect attention back on to the fans.
  18. I'll be there and will also contribute to any peaceful protest.

The complete lack of searching questions or damning criticism of the f***ing Bert 'N' Ernie show on Barrack Road - aside from the likes of George Caulkin - has been nothing short of a disgrace. Lowes and the BBC will have had to follow the party line, otherwise Llambias would have refused to talk. The club would also probably seek to cancel their contract with Radio Newcastle. should they have been too hard on them. The interview will have been ringfenced from the start. All journalists, including those working for the BBC, have a duty to report the facts as they see them, and to include editorial content to express their opinion of the situation. We don't want journalists who are afraid to speak the truth, or who kowtow to the idiots "managing" NUFC in case their journalistic privileges are taken away. The pen is mightier than the sword is true only if those wielding it have the courage to tell it as it is, and to rip into Ashley and his cronies in the strongest possible way. Caulkin has set the standard, the other Newcastle based journalists have a lot of catching up to do. I'll say again - Llambias will have refused the interview unless he had control over what questions were asked.

They could report what they want, they just chose to be soft, like most of the other fence sitters on here I beg to differ. I know someone who works on the show, I'll ask him what the craic is.

It's a deliberately provocative move for me - he's intent on breaking the backs of the fans and possibly the club too. No mistake about it - this is personal and has been for some time. Pleased I got my Peterboro ticket today, so I can go and join in the protests. Was also interviewed by Radio Newcastle/Look North upon leaving the ticket office and I showed my displeasure. Cracking looking lass with the TV camera too.
