Andy Thomas - now there is a name I haven't heard of for many years ! Although I think Pat Heard may have departed by the time Andy came on the scene. Why give Taylor a hard time when his only crime is still to be fairly young and inexperienced when compared to a Terry, Ferdinand or Cacapa ? Hardly his fault and he shouldn't be derided for it.
-
No way should we sell. This lad is gonna have a huge part to play in the future of the club, certainly for the next 10 years. Sure he makes mistakes, but so does John Terry and Rio Ferdinand - and they are both England regulars. He'll get better with more experience.
-
It's a surely a great gesture of intent from Ashley. He's here for the long-term and hopefully that will stop all of the bullsh1t in the media about him selling.

The ref (Darren Drysdale) was a couple of years above me at school. Working his way up through the lower leagues at the moment, it seems. -

Laughable that Rob Lee, Peter Beardsley and Andy Cole don't make that list. -

Was that at the Liverpool game ? If so - was a protest against Liverpool's new owners, one of whom happened to be top brass at Via-Systems which laid a load of people off and gave them no redundancy. -
Could it be that his review of the club's infrastructure is still ongoing ? Perhaps this needs to be done before he spends big money. Perhaps he wants to see how Fat Sam does this coming season - afterall, he's not his 'man' and if he does intend to replace him next summer (if things don't work out) - why give him a shed load of cash ? I think MA is being canny at the moment and that's fine for me. Fat Sam's buys so far have been good without breaking the bank. No need to panic. Rome wasn't built in a day, afterall.

Part of his motivation to sign could be to prove us (Newcastle) were wrong to let him go - were he to sign of course.
-
Just read it on Football 365 - will he sign though ? I'm not sure if he would, though then again Lee Clark did !
-
The first Leicester 5-4 was incredible. We looked down and out at 4-2 down, with 13 mins to go. However, goals from John Gallacher (remember him !), Quinn tied it to 4-4, with Mark McGhee scoring the winner in injury time. Unbelievable.

I sincerely hope Shepherd is included in this cull - we need his influence removed from the club altogether.

Great News !

If Shearer is a fan then he is entitled to his opinion, as much as we are on here ? And as I said earlier - Shearer knows Bellamy pretty much better than anyone (or any of us).
-
Very droll. I don' doubt that Shearer has a big ego. If it was as big as Bellamy's though, he wouldn't have stayed at the club for as long as he did. And I don't remember Shearer having any off the field disciplinary problems ?
-
I don't have any problem with what Shearer has said - he knows Bellamy better than any of us on here, even those who believe (still) that Bellamy can do no wrong. Granted the lad is a good player who had a huge impact on the team and helped us progress. This is tempered by his off the field problems and also remember he lied/feigned injury when Souness was in charge. Hardly professional and putting the club first ? Bellamy's demise at Newcastle was always going to be inevitable, as it is at Liverpool. When you have an ego the size of his, there's no room for anything else inside of his head.
-
Correct. That was back in the days when you only used to get the 2nd half 'Live' on Metro. God knows why ?!
-
Pretty much nailed on that we've be involved. Souness and Boumsong are two names which may get mentioned here. And Willie McKay ? No suprises - he's a $hitehawk (as I said on another forum). The danger is that the FA will try and cover this up. Dare they do that, though ?
-
I remember that one - think the commenator in question was Justin Lockwood (the fella who sacked Mick Lowes from Metro by all accounts)
