Didn't see of much of what he had to say. Can anyone enlighten me on what was said ? Would be interesting to see if he took any blame for the current predicament. My cash is on it being someone else's fault though.

Butt was rotten today - extremely poor distribution, but it's nothing new.

Yup - point is though that inferior players have been drafted in, so we end up at the same place every summer. Mutton dressed as lamb, indeed. We can only hope that Ashley holds good on his promise of providing KK with very substantial funds in the summer. -

Postive today - we scored and played some OK stuff. Downside - fragile confidence and very poor ball retention (Nicky Butt and Carr, I'm looking at you's two). We're still struggling big time to create chances and at the moment, it's hard to see where the next win is going to come from. It's very much going to be a limp towards the end of the season - I just hope it's enough for us to stay up. Massive rebuilding job needed in the summer - most definitely. -
Isn't it about time we had an argument about THE BOARD?!?!?!?!?!

Tyne Tees news this morning said that we've lost out on him, as he's gone and signed for Lazio. Not sure if anyone else can confirm ? -
Willie McKay making mischief on SSN. Spurs deny interest in Zog.

I can't see how we are going to create anything in the 2nd half, unfortunately. As it's done for the previous few games/months - it shows we are desperate for a quality attacking midfielder. -
Disappointing today, but not the end of the world. It highlights that we are desperately in need of a creative midfielder or two. Bolton stifled Charlie, Duff didn't look interested and Milner looks like he could do with a rest. KK has a big job on to turn the side around, so expect plenty of personnel changes over the next year. If one thing today, it should calm the hype that has built up over the last 3 days. KK can then get on with his job. Definitely need a couple of new faces in for Arsenal next Saturday.

Milner was very good tonight - as were Duff and Charlie. I know it was only Stoke we were playing, but you can only beat what's put infront of you. I thought it was a good response by the players, after last Saturday. I reckon we are gonna be struggling for CM's, for the Bolton game. Emre, Butt and Smith all banned. Roz in there with Charlie, perhaps ?

It's amazing that the knives have come out for him. For me, he's declared that he'd like the job but he appreciates the club want someone experienced. He's in a no-win situation because people would have still had a go at him if he had maintained silence for not declaring his intentions ! He's not the saint he's been made out to be, but some of the negativity that is sent is way, especially from some of our own fans is just perplexing.

I'd take what TalkShite say with a pinch of salt. That said, I think Deschamps would do a good job.

Good football first and foremost. If you can manage that, then opportunities for winning a trophy or two will present themselves. The media are extremely wide of the mark with this expectation mullarky. It's bullshit which whips up the frenzy and creates the myth. Hence you now get people (media and fans alike) passing comment on the situation when they've got no idea. It's easy to look from the outside in.
-
Yup - everyone now getting in on the act and having an opinion. For a club which is not 'big' (and we aren't up there with the big 4) - it doesn't half get a lot of media attention. Add to the fact that there is the scent of blood surrouding the club at the moment, so eveyone is coming in for a kick at us. Just got to pick ourselves up and get on with it.

Someone on another forum has just said that it's been reported on the local SW News that a compensation package has been agreed with Pompey for Redknapp - £4.5million. Anyone else heard anything ?
-
If it's true, then I feel like I did when we appointed Souness and Allardyce. It's another genuine opportunity missed to fetch in someone like a Hitzfeld or van Gaal. It'll end in tears.

Christ - didn't see it coming to be honest. They must have someone lined up to come in. I can't see it being Shearer.
-
Nah - not a patch on Billy. Now he was scary.
-
He is a big lad, and did cause us some bother when he came on. Still, no Billy Whitehurst though !

Are we being complacent about our relegation chances?
Big Geordie replied to stozo's topic in Football
My take; We are fortunate to have as many points on the board as we have, as it does give some breathing space. However we are in relegation form as it's now only 2 wins from 13 games, IIRC. Some tough fixtures coming up (Man United and Arsenal away are two), so it's hard to see where the points are going to come from. We won't be relegated, but we aren't even going to be mid-table. We'll finish somewhere around 14th-15th, IMO. Is that good enough for you lads ? -
