  1. If that was the case, Perch wouldn't have gone unless we'd actually paid for and signed Kone? So what you're saying is... WE'VE SIGNED KONE!!
  2. Frank Clark has to be pretty high up there. Whey, higher than Smith and Williamson at least.
  3. Football, like fashion, is cyclical. If we did sign Bent, in many ways, we'd be style pioneers.
  4. Why? Pardew's already far enough out of his comfort zone IMO. Just like most people prefer the mystery box. Unknown quantities are always potentially more exciting than multi clubbed English players. (the 'barely seen' was supposed to hint at that line being a bit tongue in cheek tbf)
  5. Would be surprised if we spent much on getting Bent, but could work out well if we get him. Would prefer a player I've barely seen from overseas who hasn't played for the mackums though obviously.
  6. Yup, fail to see the reason for much anguish. If he's not replaced I suspect Anita may play a larger role and we'll get to see whether the younger lads like Bigi can step up this time, rather than last seasons aborted experiment. Good luck Perch. You'll get a warm reception if we see you back one day.
  7. Yes. For either failing to be able to stump up financially, or failing to get us into a position where we're an attractive proposition for him as a player. Tbh we could offer what we want and sell the club as much as we want, but Borussia are simply more attractive. It's if we've got no alternative that's the problem. Oh absolutely, but my point was that it's the clubs fault to some degree that as things stand we are indeed seen as considerably less atractive.

  10. If we're going down the Phoenix Nights route, here's Kinnears interview in full. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=5k7wlSHXdv8
  11. The blue is a delicious throwback to the days of yore, and goes to show that you can indeed evoke the magpies spirit via the medium of premium polyester. Must feel it before I commit, but if it my skin responds to it's touch, I hope to god they cannot restrict the number I can buy in a single transaction.
  12. It's almost as if you always manage to be behind whatever Ashley's up to at any given time, without ever going to the trouble of criticising any past decisions in any detail. Is Mr Mort your dad or summink? I think you'll find the times people feel the need to look at it from the other side (which apparently grinds your gears something rotten) is precisely because someone hasn't gone to the trouble of criticising past decisions in any detail beyond 'he's a nonsensical cnut'. Oh, and I'm proper loving his latest stunt by the way. Totally behind it. I just find the comment strange, how come you weren't crying out for a Director of Football when the lawyer was in charge, or when the casino owner was in charge? Err, probably because (outside of the rare occasion a manager actually wants one like AVB at the spuds) I'd never normally cry out for a director of football. If we must have one, then I'd rather even Joe 'fackin' Kinnear over someone who has practically no involvement in actual football.

  14. Are people suggesting an expensive lawyer as a preferable director of football. Think I'll be forever bemused at the love that Chris Mort still generates.
  15. There is no need, Joe Kinnear created that database on his commodore 64 . . . .after creating the commodore 64. He created the C64? I'm starting to warm to this guy.
  16. His idea wasn't necessarily wrong. If we'd kept Pardew, kept Llambias, and brought in a respected technical/football director I'd have been positive going into next season. It's the execution of the idea that has been ludicrous and damaging beyond belief.
  17. What the fuck was he expecting though really? "Oh, here's one centre mid, a young kid from Coventry and a French lad no-one knows fuck all about. Top 4 pls. Kthxbai" Expecting better? In fact, probably just expecting pretty much the same as the the majority on here who were also angry enough with Pardew to want him sacked for his part in the season.
  18. Its rediculous. If this happened without the Kinnear bit. We would all be excited as fuck. Speak for yourself. He was not a football man and that was clearly a problem, but many of the community initiatives he has overseen have been good, the finances were good, the player trading has been fine. He gave me as much confidence in that side of the club as I could have as things stood, and genuinely felt he was a moderating influence on Mike. Now, we have our football man, Llambias has gone, and I'm shitting it.
  19. Well this week just gets better and better. Go fuck yourself Kinnear.
  20. Don't. Delighted to have got in before the edit.
  21. Right lads an' lasses, here's an attempt at some positive spin. Ashley has lost confidence in Llambias to get his head around the football side and simply needs someone there that he trusts to give him a run down of what's going on in a way he can fackin' understand. Whatever Joe K says, his role is little more than a Babblefish that'll plug into Mike ear and pump out information in pellet sized chunks and we'll never have to listen to his mad patter publicly ever again. I have no clue how Joe K can pass on anything without a liberal coating of his own mental excreta, but if it means his boss can feel comfortable enough to spend on the squad this summer then er... Yay. Good times ahead.
