Larsson. Meltdown on Wearside if it's Whickham That would be glorious.

Not sure where you're getting the £9m from, but I agree that if we did sell I hope we'd have some kind of buy back, or at the very least a sell on clause. Not that I wan't us to sell in the slightest mind. So why are there Celtic fans baulking at paying even that then? Even the most enthusiastic on the forums wouldn't want to go over £2m for the big lad.

Damn right he didn't. Great new interview with him in the Journal today. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2011/06/23/sylvain-marveaux-not-afraid-of-premier-league-bullies-61634-28926953/2/

Suprised by how many on there are not unhappy as such (though question the clubs ambition to an extent), but not exactly raving about the bloke. "solid if unspectacular", "£1.5m a fair price", "not a fan", "take him as back up, with a better first choice", "Major dissappointment", "there is definitely a lack of trust towards him and people expect him to make mistakes", "Despite his size, he doesn't sufficiently command his goal area or back 4 and rarely seems to be willing to leave his line for corners. His kicking is patchy and the lad looks terrified any time he's put under pressure with the ball at his feet and an opposition forward closing him down.", "I don't feel 100% comfortable with him in goal. He will do OK. I have no doubt about that. I am dissappointed at the ambition shown on here". There are also many fairly to very positive comments, but just surprised there would be any negativity considering the impression I got on their boards midway through the season. General concensus seems to be - Yeah, get him in, "He's young and a bit rough round the edges and he seems to have all the personality of a half brick, but he's a reliable goalkeeper who we can trust not to go chucking goals in left, right and centre whilst he learns his trade.", and that for the price, stick with the lad and he'll be with Celtic for years and could be a shrewd buy, rather than bringing Given in for 2. For the money paid, we won't get much better. Neither excited or disappointed. Feeling like I'll be much less pissed if he does leave now at least after reading their comments. Got to say though, I'd still really like to see him to stay and actually play a few games for us after so many years getting excited about his progression.

/don't you start.

He deleted his posts. Oh. Odd thing with him was even MSIDouglas gave him some creedence. Ah, well.
-
What happened to that coozy blerk who said two were staying in JDH, according to the porter, and he'd be able to confirm today? What happened to him then eh? EH?
-
As long as his teams never take any points off us, delighted for him.
-
Or he doesn't need to comment on every player/rumour? Never more than a rumour was it? Douglas has stated that Jonas is not on the list and the player want's to stay. Of course that means nothing if an offer comes in that exceeds his worth to us, but that goes for any player at any club (whether or not a manager has said previously that he'd want to keep them).

I can. Phew. Is it getting hot in here?

This won't end well if we get him. Not the striker we should be going for,we need someone who can come in and do it now, not in 2 or 3 seasons time. It's an ambitious move but the sort of move clubs like Spurs would do and can bring him on slowly,he won't get that chance with us. He may well go on and do the business but for me it's a massive, massive gamble. Would be suprised if you got him anyway tbh, your bid will make other clubs come in for him. aye supposedly Liverpool are interested (then again young english and overpriced of coarse they're interested) and I imagine this will just get them to move for him. Would be delighted if we were in for him. Even if we loaned him out for the season, it would show some intent to continue bringing in the brightest British prospects from the lower leagues like Taylor. Looks quite the prospect from the little I've seen of him.

"He's a great lad and we were all gutted to see him leave Newcastle but it was a no-brainer, really. He had to go and test himself at a fantastic football club with great tradition" Aye cos we have none of that, especilly for a local number nine. I like Joey, but he can piss off with platitudes like that for those fucks.

Kiss of death.

Interview with him on nufctv this afternoon. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20110622/sylvain-speaks_2281670_2380305?

I see, we're talking about slightly different things here, all my original post was saying that that in my opinion out the whole squad only those 3 were unsellable, or rather should be unsellable. For what its worth, I actually agree that everyone is sellable as things stand at this club. As things have always stood at this club.
-
Tell you what. I think it might be easier if you just reel off the positives about Birmingham tbh.
-
Might be a bit Giggs here, but just watched a nice little interview with Graham and Alan Carr on nufctv. Think it's the first time I've seen the bloke.
-
Don't doubt his leg's fine, just hope his head is. I certainly won't be feeling that great anytime I see some lumbering meathead baring down on the lad.
-
FYP Christ, forgot Lovenkrands. I'll let him off Smith, he's reserved for West Ham or Leeds at a push, fingers crossed. Anyway, good luck Chris. Hope you get enough time to prove whatever you might be capable of this time.

A collective sharp intake of breath (followed by a sustained period of holding said breath in)?

Buy Best, Routledge, and Perch off of us and I'll be delighted. Fkn Birmingham City though?

http://www.surnamedb.com/Surname/pardew Mon Dieu! Make a cup of tea and put a record on. Have a tete a tete, or a deja vu. Have no regrets, or a rendezvous. Or a ménage à trois. Or a soirée. Or diner à deux... Alain Depardieu! Sounds suspiciously like a Flannigan and Alan Mulligan & O'hare track.

Smith's no quitter. Unlike Nolan, he'll have a realistic first team role with us this year.
