perhaps because including corners milner probably had 20 opportunities to put a decent cross in today and failed to do it once??? or perhaps our manager is s*** and cant see that with that kind of crossing style of play we have no chance when we are playing the likes of Martins and Dyer upfront Its up to the manager to tell the players how to play In the 2nd half we were still playing the same style of play and its Roeder fault for that you're right, roeder clearly told milner to never beat the first man with a cross, and put crap corners in. FFS!!! Perhaps not, but he's got a point that playing wide and relying on crosses does us no good with Dyer and Martins up front. They don't have the height to get on the end, even when they actually get a decent cross in to begin with. If we're going to put together an effective attack with those two, we need to build up our passing game and work on springing them forward through the middle. If crosses are useless, than taking off Milner was the right thing to do anyway. Milner's shit. Shit eh. Aye get shot of the fucker, not good enough despite one of the few showing spirit and despite being one of the few able to actually fucking score from the midfield. No he is no wonderboy but calling him shit puts the rest of the squad into even greater shame. Can people (not directed at you, just generally) now understand that our players simply cannot be as shite as people make them out to be. Can peope now understand the worth of a good manager? -
Not been a good season, but we are still only 6 points off 6th

I'm not sure that anything that means more decisions for Roeder helps us much. Farking dreadful. Again. What decision did he get wrong today like? I swear some people sometimes just hear something once and thinks its the case for all games. Ya what? Basically, in one or two games he's made a couple of dubious decisions regarding team selection (just one or two games), and people assume he's going to make bad decisions all the time. What a load of crap. Ah, I see. Well forgive me but his selection fuckups for me seem to outweigh any outstanding selection successes. The team often show more on the pitch when the decisions are forced on him, and his selections when he has had options have on occasion cost us dearly. Since he has come to the club he has had to prove he has the ability not the other way round, and so far he has proved very little. Until he does, just deal with peoples suspicions of him and don't get so farking defensive of the man when people make the odd sarky comment. -

Glad you appreciate that. I'm getting to the point where (beyond the financial concerns) I couldn't give a shit about sneaking into Europe. All I want is some decent football to give me some optimism for the future, rather than the life sapping dross we have to put up with under the current setup. -

Nice read and great to hear that the team spirit is so good, but you have to wonder why we only get to see very rare and fleeting glimpses of this 'spirit' out there on the pitch.

Well considering he wanted Huth rather than Woodgate and saw us ending up with neither I have slightly more misgivings concerning Roeder himself. I hope this put to an end any further spurious speculation that Woodgate might come back because it sure as hell doesn't look likely under Glenn. Mr reliable Anton 'where the fuck has the ball gone now' Ferdinand on the other hand....

I take it we are talking about this interview... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/tm_headline=shearer-started-text-war%26method=full%26objectid=18696278%26siteid=89520-name_page.html You're reading too much into it I reckon, he's not trying to smooth the waves as much as just trying to set a few things straight now that there is some distance between himself and the club. I know you never say never in football, and yes he is a cracking player that there is no doubt we could have done with, but it would be mad to see him brought back here, there is just too much water under the bridge to make it viable for either side imho.

To be fair, the manc reds are hated because they sodding win everything. We are hated because we back the club better than anyone else and the jealous, passionless feckers just can't understand why.
-
Not that it makes that much of a difference but considering that without these handouts Owen would have cost us nearly two and a half meeeeellion pounds per goal scored, we should be thankful for any small mercy.
-
Not using that as an excuse are you Glenn? No of course not, God forbid. As you constantly remind us before reeling off a list of cripples (and more than likely after another gutless surrender by your team), you would never blame injuries for your troubles because, as you say, it is the managers job to deal with such difficulties and bring in cover where necessary. Mind you, taking such a dignified stance clearly means that it is more likely we will see these uneducated comments from the likes of van Gaal. For shame van Gaal, for shame.

Roeder has hogtied himself to under twenty fives only. Sorry.

We need Dr Spectrum to post that picture up again man of him on Footy Focus. Glad to see a Southerner using the word Charva as well. I live in broadstairs in south east kent and have found myself using the word charvas cos of this site!!! "Until recently, chav was a word that had largely been confined to the southern reaches of the British isles and in the bitchiest of newspaper columns and websites." Dent has traced the current origins of chav to Popbitch, but there are a number of different theories about how it came about. The word expert Michael Quinion, a fieldworker for the Oxford English Dictionary, who runs his own website, World Wide Words, believes chav has existed as far back as the middle of the 19th century. "When it came into common usage recently, it was associated with Medway towns, such as Rochester and Chatham, but it is not a term particular to that area," Mr Quinion said. "It is also known in Oxford and in much of southern England as a derogatory term. The evidence is that this word has been lurking around in the language for a long time. "It has almost certainly come from the Romany word for a child, chavi, recorded from the middle of the 19th century as a slang term. What is not known is whether it has dropped out of the language altogether, but that would be unusual. The implication is that the word has never quite gone away." So why is it good to see a southerner use the word Chav. We have been calling Chavs chavs for years. No fucker likes them no matter where they come from, north or south. As for picking up the word chav from this site Markluk where have you been locked away for the last 5 years? All he said was that he has started using the word charva (which is particular to this region) due to this site. God knows but I have been using the word charva for as long as I can remember, long before I had ever heard of a chav.

Best get rid of Roeder quick sharp then.
-
to be honest, if you'd used Toure or Fabregas as the example, i would agree any grown man offended by such an impersonal word as n***** or whatever has issues Fairly well documented and valid issues I would have thought.
-
Not a boo boy in sight today and we didn't do better. So wait, if you are not refering to those at the ground you mean to say that what people say on a messageboard or in the pub is stopping the team playing well. Wow.
-
Souness didn't have the second best win percentage of any Newcastle manager though. A disappointing result today but hardly time for the manager to be sacked, it's ridiculous. Edit: the second bit aint aimed at you. You're right, it would be mad to sack him mid season full stop.
-
It was never set in stone and still isn't, but unfortunately, with just too few positives to win me over, that has remained my position since his appointment.
-
Not a dig at you at all Alberto, and I'm not even particularly sure why, but it depresses the hell out of me whenever I read comments like that about any of our players.

Good post. Roeder is very average that must be clear to all surely? You'd think so wouldn't you. Considering his past efforts he had an awful lot to prove as soon as he walked into the job (which is not a great starting point for any manager), but that was Shepherds decision sadly. He has had the odd triumph but throughout he has remained far from convincing that he is the right man for the job, and without any pedigree, it is hard to have any faith that he ever can. It would be lovely to think that Roeder can suddenly spark us back into life (fingers crossed and all that), but when he makes the same mistakes and spouts the same nonsense week in week out, well.....

Good post.
