  1. Wow, there is a whole tanker full of bollocks in that post. funny cos i agree with 100% of that! Funny indeed to agreed 100% with such exaggerated nonsense (a hallmark of any rant regarding Bellamy it seems). Whether he refused to play or not is entirely down to who you choose to believe. Bellamy continued to voice that despite protesting playing out wide, he had never and would never refuse to play in any position. I'm not even sure Souness himself ever said that Bellamy had flatly refused to play, but if he did, forgive me for remaining suspicious. As to the 100% thing, every manager that he had worked with prior to Souness (or post in the case of Hughes/O'Neill, no idea about Rafa) said that his commitment to training and playing was second to none, and that despite a pushy belief in himself driving them and others to distraction, every single one of them would have him in their team and work with him again. He was the same even as a kid according to my uncle. So no, he is clearly no angel (he may even be a complete arse) an but I don't agree that he was the cancer that Souness needed to cut out. Nor do I agree that we were better off as a club losing him in the manner we did, a manner that was all too predictable as soon as Souness laid his first blow soon after he arrived by questioning publicly whether Bellamy was even a proper striker. I do believe he was and still is a very good player who helped push the club closer to tasting success again for a short period, and that what's done is done. I won't boo or bait him for reacting to Souness, a man who it could be could argued was in the end a f*** sight more damaging to NUFC. ok fair enough maybe i shouldnt have said 100% but i think that a lot of people tend to think he was completely innocent when he was a s*** before souness even came. What about the rooney bid incident, even robson turned round to bellamy and said he was fed up of incident after incident. i think the reason he is more handleable (if thats a word) now is that he got a reality check when he left and has had to pull his finger out of his arse. I don't know anybody who thinks that, tbh. Nope, nor do many of us even want him back desparately, just remember the good times, how he drove the team forward on the pitch, and are heartely sickened by those who readily accept the managers (who had a history of clashing with top players that I assumed dared to question his shit decisions) assertion that his departure was inevitable and good for the club. Something those of us not brandishing pitch forks and seemingly all of his other employers would disagree with.
  2. There you are, feel free to boo him like a pantomime villain and wish both his legs broken to your hearts content. You have his blessing.
  3. Finally something I agree with ! Sick fucks.
  4. And yet every manager he has worked under bar Souness would seem to think otherwise. Do you not at least see that as a possible flaw in your arguement that his departure was inevitable whoever was in charge? Do you really think he is innocent of any wrong doing at all? No. He seems arrogant and thoughtlessly direct to the point of being his own worst enemy. His willingness to stand against Souness was misjuged, as was contradicting him on live TV. That said, I had sympathy for the position he found himself in. He is clearly difficult to handle but as already noted, every manager other than Souness seems to have dealt with the task without seeing Bellamy rip their clubs apart. For people to think that that is just a coincidence strikes me as farking insane, and I think that a lot of the anger directed towards him is either over the top, or simply off target.

  8. Quit talking about injuries. How many times does Roeder have to tell you guys. For the 34th time in the last 20 days Roeder announced "I have never used the injuries as an excuse and I never will." - today's Journal. Also in today's Journal - "Getting people back fit will obviously help and ultimately determine where we will finish in the table." That's not contradictory, that's a FACT! Source: icnewcastle
  9. No, just sack his possibly superior replacement, Joe Joyce.
  10. Not wishing to wade into any arguement, but I could equally point out that a Spanish friend of mine is a Depor supporter and while saying they did well to get so much money for him, loved the guy to bits and still swears that given the right mananagement he would have done the club proud. Not that he was particularly upset that Luque was failing mind, as he was rather hoping it would mean seeing a cut price deal for him to go back to his old club.
  11. San Marino have equalised against the Irish.
  12. Aye, this one has me confused. But its was not a bidding war was it? Purely player preference How about trying to out muscle Boro over Huth? And if the relationship was that close, couldn't we have had a vague idea that our offer wouldn't have been enough for Viduka and saved the last minute debarcle with Milner?
  13. Before and after shots man. I was hardly going to stand snapping away while the monkeys were flinging their shit around. Just showing how a few twats in caps (whether from Newcastle, PSV or wherever) buggered up what was an excellent atmosphere. Hope they enjoyed the local police hospitality.
  14. Before. http://www.hdfa.co.uk/breda/images/Breda_triangle3.jpg After. http://www.hdfa.co.uk/breda/images/Breda_twatsincaps.jpg Knackers to that. I just stuck too drinking great beer with some top Dutch folks.
  15. A little from column A, a lot from column B.
  16. We were lucky against Spurs and Villa. Then not so lucky against Fulham. Thats the kind of run i fear Roeder is mainly going to be capable of taking us on. Yeah we were lucky against those teams, but when you've had the bad luck we've had this year with injuries and what not, we deserve a bit of luck now and then. Not disagreeing with that, what I feel it does is cover up the inadequacies of both our squad and our current manager and give false hope - christ, some people still think we can get a top 6 spot! Give me a break! With the league in it's current state, I wouldn't rule it out. I wuldn't rule anything out.
  17. Good old pay day for Willie McKay.
  18. There is a lovely pud called 'Le nègre en chemise' which I have had in France on the odd occasion. Pretty horrible name when you come to think of it, and a lot less innocent than that Turkish Oreo.
  19. 'yo mama?' You sad little individual. What in the....? Going off the deep end a bit old boy. No need to maul his not unamusing point.
  20. Yup, couldn't help but sit up and have a laugh at that, well played Farrington. I hope Oliver get's the urge to have a go back in his next comedy column.
  21. Neil Farrington - Taking Issue So farewell then to a transfer window about as transparent as the glass on a convent shower cubicle. Goodbye to a month of misinformation, broken promises, rumours, half-truths - and worse. And hello, at Newcastle at least, to spin-doctoring straight from the Alistair Campbell guide to talking up bad news. If it wasn't for the likes of Roy Keane - resourceful and ruthless in equal measure these past few weeks - why should we bother with the mid-season window at all? Judging from Aston Villa, its main purpose is for someone to get ripped off. But with messrs Boumsong and Ricketts coming up our way for silly money in Januarys past, let's not get too smug at seeing the Hammers pay Lucas Neill 70 grand a week and £7.5 million for Matthew Upson. Not when Newcastle and, albeit to a lesser extent, Middlesbrough flattered to deceive last month. Judging from the Magpies, the purpose of the transfer window is to confuse, infuriate and disappoint. How can a January begin with talk of buying Darren Bent, Peter Crouch (right) and Gareth Bale, and end with excuses for the failure to sign any striker and any left-back - even on loan? What's going on when a manager reflects on his efforts to buy "five or six" players one minute, then his most trusted journalist reports that United have "no transfer kitty" the next? How come said manager resists bringing any old "body" to the club, then insists a nobody - and Albert Luque, now below Academy kids in Newcastle's pecking order, is certainly that - does not leave? Does that manager expect us to believe him when he now says he is happy with a squad he never tired of telling us he was busting a gut to strengthen significantly in January? And why did he go from stating that Oguchi Onyewu (right) was "not a player I am trying to sign" to signing him in less than five days? The answer to the final question, given that Glenn Roeder is no liar, must be that he simply changed his mind. The worry is that panic changed it for him. But those other mysteries hint at miscommunication at best, and rifts at worst, between key figures at St James's Park. An unhappily recurring theme, it seems, and one from which Roeder's side will do well to divert us these next few months. Very well, given the enduring, inexcusable absence of a decent left-back and God forbidding injury to Obafemi Martins. For out of the murk, smoke and mirrors of a month of intrigue but too few incomers at St James's, one thing emerges crystal clear . . . Football wise, Newcastle are not nearly stronger enough now than they were on New Year's Eve. When it comes to playing the blame game, however, few clubs do it better. > source icNewcastle Quite a heavy swipe at the club, but it pretty much hits the mark.
  22. I do. The man is a twit.
  23. And the difference is? Tony will not be there next time. we were talking about who we WILL vote for As Indi posted. The rest of the hatefull figures from this shambles of a government will be. It's not all about Tony.
  24. No, we understand hesitancy. We understand not spending money for the sake of it. What we have difficulty understanding is that two transfer windows have past, we have had the money available, and yet have still failed to attract the signings we require (a sodding left back for starters). Why are we unable to attract these people? Are we not attractive to lower division players, does our club not excite when compared to the likes of Monaco. Why not? Why can we not even be in a position to recruit a myriad of promising youngsters like Liverpool? I was led to believe this would have been Roeders forte?
