GKs real ability is mental. That doesn't come early. You might grt a freak like Donnarumma, but in general keepers need all sorts of experienceto develop. Tall, quick reflexes and intelligent. That's what you look for in a young keeper. They can bulk out, learn to read the game and get their passing up to scratch over time, the other 3 thing you cannot teach. His mebtal ability is something we have to accept Howe will know more about than us. I think kompany knows a player as well, especially youth. For me it's a perfect way to clear out the crap keepers we've got and get some youth into the squad. He'll only improve, not being in the firing line might suit him as he works to understand the game. Again, Howe will know I'm sure. He certainly saw something in Ramsdale.
