  1. IS this Beckham who had an affair with a pig wanker?
  2. Yeah get him regular football Somewhere at the top of League 1 would do nicely. Cheeky swap for Beckford? I was thinking more along the lines of direct competition against Leeds, hoping they fuk it up in the latter stages.
  3. They rejected £5m for him. So no. I know he looked gutted too on SSN, Wolves must have been in shock not to get him for that. Mind if they go down they won't knock back bids. Aye if they go down they'll accept £5m with open arms, but personally wouldn't pay more than £3m for him at the very very most. He's not a bad player and would add to the squad, but the fee is a sticking point regardless of which division they are in. Yeah, the fee is steep but if they go down you'd never know what they'd be willing to except. I didn't actually know he was 28 though. He'd be much better then Jonas. He scores every now and again and doesn't fall over as much. I think he'd be good competition for Jonas, and it could lead to us letting Jonas go without to many problems. As fast and determined as Jonas is, he doesn't create and doesn't score at all.
  4. For my AVCE i studied black ball pressure; for months possibly even a year after I couldn't pot a black to save my life knowing what I did.

  6. Thing is though, he's 24 in September and clubs would have got him for nothing.
  7. I'd like to see us loan some players out. Ranger in particular.

  9. I think travel has a lot to do with it as well. Playing at home you get to be around your house, wife, kids etc...on your travels you are staying in hotels, living out of suitcases and kept under strict in-house rules. It's all to do with psychology, some teams will fear playing in front of their crowd as they'll just get on their backs, therefore home advantage is out of the window, then some teams prefer it, have a good loud crowd and enjoy playing football on their own pitch, including factors like width, length, grass cut, and condition. There is such thing as home advantage without a doubt. PS: Bluey, that Av is horrible.
  10. Surprised at that, i expected some decent cash going on securing their promotion push. I'm not even sure who they've brought in, i'll just take your word for it that it wasn't anything decent.
  11. That's what undisclosed fees unfortunately lead too, lots of speculation and bollocks to follow.
  12. Leon Best fee was nearly £2m Feb 2 2010 Add a comment Recommend COVENTRY City sold Leon Best to Newcastle United for a fee close to £2m, the Telegraph can reveal. The Magpies came in with a late offer for the centre-forward on Sunday night, which was accepted and the player was then given permission to speak to the club. See Leon Best's Coventry City career in pictures.... He travelled to the North East yesterday morning where he agreed personal terms and passed a routine medical before putting pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract. City fans will no doubt be pleased with the fee for Best which appears a decent return for a player who cost the club just over £1 million from Southampton, and for whom they were confident of getting somewhere in the region of £2 million if they had kept him and taken it to a tribunal in the summer. Coleman insisted at the weekend that the club would not let him go for peanuts, saying: “If anyone thinks that because Besty is out of contract that they can come in with a crazy bid and we will accept, it’s not going to happen. "We will keep him and go to a tribunal in the summer when we will get a good fee because we paid a good fee for him – we won’t be forced to sell.”
  13. Fabio Cappello has just phoned Wayne Bridge to say "I've spoken to John Terry and he's lost the captains armband, any chance of you having a quick look under your bed?"
  14. He's not, but some of the best Captains (or most influential) lead by example. Rooney in this form going in to the WC with the added bonus of being England Captain would give us a better chance of winning it than keeping Terry or handing it to a piss poor Gerrard.
  15. Our defence is the strongest part of our team, and has shone compared to other areas. The strikeforce has been meh, probably would have been ok if Shola didn't pick up that lengthy injury. Harper, Colo, Taylor, Jose & Nolan are the main reason were top of the league. The reason why were not running away with it is the lack of a main striker and the weakness in the middle of the park, if Nolan isn't scoring goals we've got nothing in there worthwhile. Butt, Smith, Nolan, Guthrie all not good enough (Guthrie could get better though) all slow and technically lacking while Barton the useless cunt has been injured throughout. No right outlet either until now, things might shape up a bit and give the team some balance. Still though, i doubt Best will set the world alight, Shola will struggle to get to the early scoring for fun form, while Carroll remains distracted and Ranger not being ready for this level. So, Shearer was wrong imo with those comments.
  16. Don't think whats happened of late should effect his captaincy. What matters is his ability to lead on the pitch and to perform to the highest standard, and that for me is more in question. He's a good captain, just nothing outstanding. Personally if the players have lost faith in him and want him out of the squad, Caps must do it completely and give the band to Rooney, the only English player playing well enough to justify changing captains at the point of heading in to a WC summer.
  17. I've got more faith in Hughton scouting the right players than i have in him being able to bring out the best in them.
  18. You couldn't look more Irish tbh http://img.skysports.com/10/02/402x210/Robbie-Keane-Celtic_2414398.jpg
  19. They wouldn't have been to them. Shearer would have wanted whats best for the club, whereas Ashley would want whats best for the clubs bank balance, and why we got Chris.
  20. Not sure I get this bit unless I missed something. Everything Shearer wanted in those 6 weeks in charge, he got (Wise out, Dowie in, etc). He had plenty of time to keep us up (that shocking home draw at Portsmouth springs to mind), and had he won that, would have been given the job full-time imo. They then proceeded to tell him nothing, making him look like an idiot hanging on. Shearer scared them off with his rebuilding plans, it was far too much a job for Ashley to stomach. Hughton's put us top of the table on the cheap, which is exactly what Ashley wanted, not paying a manager a top players wage, while having transfer funds demands etc...
