    New Away Strip

Dear me, they should have made the lighter stripes dark green as well as the shorts and tops of the socks
  2. Buy a better one then FFS.

    RIP sale thread.

If Mike Ashley wasn't such a fat panicking beach ball he'd realise that he's better off keeping the players and going for promotion next season as the only players we will lose are the half decent ones on low wages. The damage has already been done, there's no point in making it worse by having a fire sale. As long as we fire sale the right players, Duff (£1m), Butt (Free), Smith (£2m), Ameobi (£1m), Barton (£3m) while releasing some expensive crap (owen, Cacapa, McLoven & Viduka) we could loan out one or two bigger names for a year covering their wages and possibly getting a loan fee back. Colo (£7m), Jonas (£6m), Bassong (£8m), Martins (£8m), Enrique (£5m) & Xisco (£4m) i'd like to see that happen too, or at least one or two of them if we cannot get the fees in brackets. Our wage bill is reportedly £70m, we can sustain £30m in the CCC, lets go off media reports and say the top line of shite goes we'd get back £25m a year in wages plus a very nominal transfer fee. IF you want that would leave us with £20m short in wages covered, but it seems like for the last few years we've been 50% over the top on wages anyway, so the sustainable figure could possibly be higher. Someone should be cleaning out the dead wood as we speak, no matter at what cost (fire sale) it then leaves us in a much better position to negotiate deals for our better players, but just because we think they are the better players doesn't mean they give a fuk, too many reports out of the dressing room say of players not giving a shite and i've got a hunch its more to do with the players on the second line who we all want to keep if possible.
  4. He came looking for it when he joined up; think he's a canny poster now.

    RIP sale thread.

What pisses me off is if these bunch of failures defaulted their wages for the year, collectively they could almost buy the club themselves.
  6. You really are an utter cunt. Get down off your high horse, and try actually having a debate, you couldn't even get your transfer fee's right ffs. It's getting hot in here, over nowt really.
  7. What is an absolute banker is that if someone does give you 4m for Alan Smith, Spurs will find a foreign based player (Alanikov Smithchenko?) who will be equally shit but cost three times as much, but OMG! their transfer windows are to die for
  8. When you finished fifth, it constituted "making a serious challenge to the top four", but when someone else finishes 6th, well, that's a different kettle of fish. I don't really know how that works. I also don't understand your point in the above post about Cuellar, whose post are you referring to now? And are you ever going to answer my point about: Pavyluchenko - 14 million pounds - 29 PL games (19 starts) - 5 goals Harewood - 4 million pounds - 29 PL games (1 start) - 5 goals Can you not see the irony in you laughing at our signing of Harewood? And when we flog him this summer, we'll have lost about 2m on him. Do you reckon you'll get someone to give you 12m for Pavyluchenko? I don't. The fact you paid £4m for Harewood gives me immense hope someone will buy Alan Smith off us. Even the best of managers buy crap now and then. Come on MON, have another maaaaad moment.
  9. Wasn't James born just after he moved here?
  10. Hmmm, would CA go for him? Reckon he'll stick with Italian based players, the guy is a bit one dimensional and limited to what and who he knows. Can see Pato & Pirlo coming in before Tevez.
  11. Vultures circling the carcass that was once a decent Swansea football team.
  12. Tevez deffo not staying at Manu and won't join Liverpool so Citeh it is then.

    Michael Owen

And? I could go back even further. Finally everyone gets it, just a shame the amount of crap i had to take in the mean time.
  14. Theres only one Gary Speed! It's criminal to think how long ago we let him go yet if he rejoined he'd still be our best midfielder by some distance.

    Michael Owen

That is way, way over the top, verging on the absolute bollocks to be honest. Im not his biggest fan, and dont think he offers a lot to the team overall, but in terms of predatory instincts he is world class. There arent any better than him in the game at timing his runs, and he does finish a lot of his chances. You only have to look at the past few games where he's been incorrectly ruled offside against Arsenal and Man Utd. IMO he has been getting sharper with each game since his return, and will improve (as long as he stays fit). He's never going to be the type of player to take on men and run around all day, he's about waiting and timing, but that doesnt make him lazy. Wasn't though was it? There was only one was Owen was going to go.
  16. Depends how much he's on like all of them, wouldn't be too disappointed if he stayed, think he'd be canny in the Championship, though my preference would be to get rid.
  17. That's what you call "having a go"?. Half a season then giving up like spineless cowards?. I correctly predicted on here that you'd give up and Everton will for sure finish above you (this was when you were ahead of Arsenal). In 05 we actually had a go and lost out on the final day, that's what you call having a go, not your pathetic excuse of giving it a go where you finish a whole 10 points behind 4th and even bottle 5th place. "Nobody give a toss about the League cup". Right i'm sure you'd feel that way if your own team even came close to winning it . Sadly you can't even do that, instead you get jizzed on by lower league teams at home. I sound small time? who gives a fuck. I'd rather sound small time and get happy winning the league cup then sound arrogant depite my team not doing anything worthwhile for years and years. As i've said before, OUR TRANSFER POLICY HAS BEEN RIDICULOUS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS. Can you read that? shall i say it again for you? ok i will....OUR TRANSFER POLICY HAS BEEN RIDICULOUS OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS...IT'S FLAWED. I do think that our january activity was very good though, and i'll say again that your transfer policy is also not very good at all. You just avoid criticsm because no one actually expects you to pull off anything worthwhile. Oh look Villa have signed Luke young Oh look Villa have signed Nicky Shorey Oh look Villa have signed Curtis Davies Oh look Villa have signed James Milner Oh look Villa have signed Marlon Harewood Oh look Villa have signed Nigel Reo Coker Oh look Villa have signed Emile Heskey Filling up squads with mediocre players will see you never do anything of note imo. The fact that Curtis Davies cost roughly the same amount as Berbatov (Milner actually cost more) says it all about your boring ass transfer policy. Tbh both your transfer policies are shite, but ours is shiter FTW.
  18. He's had one good season in his entire career for me.

    Edgar or Taylor?

Can i just randomly laugh at this again please. Fuking hell.
  20. When did Zigic sign for them?
  21. So Chelsea are going to sell Boswinga and buy back Glen Johnson for 3 times the price they sold him on for?
  22. Ah man he is just handing his brochure out by hand thas all. Hope not, Fulham finally going in the right direction for the 1st time in decades, that parasite would bleed em dry. You hope not? Are you a Fulham fan? Not all of us have two clubs.
  23. Wonder how long until he runs away from that job? Probably about five years? Years? :mackems: :mackems:
