Yes am shit.

I'm going to stick (at the risk of being lampooned by certain posters!!) with the Premiership era (dun dun duuunnnn). 1st off its more relevant and a couple of the old time sales would certainly win outright anyway. So which sale of a player had the biggest negative effect on the club? (if you think of any more please say and i will add them)

Man Utd reject Newcastle bid for Wes Brown - SSN
Dokko replied to WarrenBartonCentrePartin's topic in Football
Cacapa & Rozenhal do nothing for me. Cacapa makes too many mistakes, however he's either a very lucky man, or his experience gets him out of a few jams, Rozenhal is a passenger, just what you want in central defence. Faye & Beye are solid defenders, but Faye picks up knocks left right and centre, and Beye can only play one position. Both are away for the ANC, its going to sting a bit. Taylor is rough and is not suiting Sam at all. Contract wrangle has seen him lose valuable support off his fellow fans, needs to step up, seems very down and out of it atm. Carr is a cunt. So right now Brown would be out RB, otherwise it means playing an out of position, out of sorts Taylor, or a cunt. After the ANC and looking towards the future, Beye would be RB, and Brown would be CB alongside Faye or Taylor. For me if we could get Enrique fit, ready and able, that would be a very good defence to go for the rest of the season. Wes Brown out of that lot would be out best CB. He'd be our most experience, most talented, and would bring a lot of pace to the central defence, something every team could do with. He does make the odd mistake, usually slips, but the quality is there, Fergie offering £50k a week tells you its own story. All IMO of course. -
I wish it worked out for him, it didn't so its time to get rid. We'd be crazy not to take Boro's money off them, especially if its anything over £2m. I doubt he'd come good and come back to haunt us, but he'd do a lot better elsewhere along with all those types of players who simply cannot cope with the pressure of NUFC.

Possibly, I'm hardly a big fan of Brown's but I think it's safe to say he would be an improvement on Rozenhal and Cacapa even if he has a little dip in form after leaving United. He's be our best defender by a mile imo. Doesn't take much though. Bollocks tbh. Not bollocks tbh. -

A link today, a dubious one, but one that sends shivers down even the most hardened Allardyce supporter What link? Apparently we bid on a another player today as well as Copperheed, a player who currently plays for an EPL club. Someone else ran that that player is Nolan. The spuds fans think its matty Taylor. "Someone"? Spurs fans? Christ almighty, welcome to the transfer window. Gets worse on here every time. http://nufcblog.com/2008/01/04/transfer-news/newcastle-make-new-mystery-transfer-bid/ Its all shite...hopefully.

No, not really, but i'd rather see him backed now in this window as he needs it. He could bring in 2-3 players and turn things around, and that would be magic, but reality is he really needs help to turn it around, so you either back him and let him finish what he's started, or sack him now before any more damage is done. Personally i'd like to see him backed, but i doubt that will happen, and another 5 months of the shite is unbearable after the last few years, especially with this all starting so promising. Dead man walking; well lets just get it over with, or give him a reprieve.

Ready for the knackers yard. Plays like a 34 year old Shearer with a tenth of the ability. No ta.

People over at the spurs site are claiming its us. If this happens, ill be the most unhappiest ive ever been regarding spurs transfers since the time we were linked with Alan f****** Smith. Unhappy about Matt Taylor? Save your tears mate. You'll be able to put them to much better use when Harry Kewell signs. He's a right back, no? Was under the impression they needed one of those. taylor plays left mid but can play left back. Actally he's naturally a left wing back but no one plays that system no more. Kaka you chat s*** mate Ah, thought he was a RB/RM. I suppose you could use a LM, although you could probably do better. And he'd also make your fifth LB. You are thinking of the wigan player.

If Sam asks for Nolan, Mort needs to pull the plug on Sam's transfer budget as of now. Needs to pull the plug on sam if that happens.
-
Perfect summary of how i feel, although i'd probably feel a tad less disappointed than yourself if we sold him. Until this summer though i'd have gladly seen the back of him, shame he's the only player playing (well sometimes Sam plays him) in mid that can make things happen.
-
The squad was assembled by those above him though, i'd rather stick with Sam, but i wouldn't mind their revolving door policy, keeps them coming in until we find suitable quality and selling on those who don't fit the bill. Its one was of doing things, the other of course is bit by bit, buying precisely, but when you do that you risk losing out on a bum signing.

Give him money! mackems.gif And people wanted a reason to why its a good idea to sack him now!!! The thing is, Nolan's the sort of player you can see him going for isn't it? A midfielder who creates fuck all but gives a 100% and gets stuck in, the people who value a team full of grafters should love this one. Nolan would cost £7m or so to sign, then wages, to sack Sam would cost about £6-7m (reported) even the fanatic sam backers would be hard pushed to choose what to do there.
-
No, I had no idea he was an option. Apparently he hasasked for 2 or 3 days to think about it as his wife is pregnant, he is keen but she less so. Of course, the quicker answer to the situation is Fergie is getting a nudge to make a bid. One I did call was Diego, German media are apparently reporting that we've made a bid of £13m. If that is true, I think the price might have be upped a bit! Of course he couldn't of just rejected the move as he wanted a bigger club than yourselves or just to stay at the club he loves, it had to be the his wife said no.

I not talking about SA i mean who would you want out? Or in? The give away is the 'you' twice repeated in the thread question.
-
Replace those names with Robert, Shearer and Bellamy and you might start to get the idea. Actually I think there must be quite a few people who do miss Shepherd in a way, as now there's noone to make an easy scapegoat of for anything that goes wrong at the club or when they want to defend the poor performance of the manager. Yep, the manager misses him most, all anger is targeted directly at SA feet.
