IMO sam is taking one for the team. He'll take it in his 1st season to break Taylor into a captain and bring him closer. It was always going to happen, just Sam has moved it on quicker at his own expense. A lesser manager would opt for a simpler option, shows he's got balls, this all round can only be good for the club.

So the Mackems lose out to Fulham with Baird. Probably a good thing for them, but again brings us to the fact any decent player decided where to go will join Sunderland just about last. Chopra must of been desperate, well the fee was certainly that.

The academy lads can remain as the backup of backup, maybe sending Hunty & Edgar out on loan if we sign well. Ramage we should look at selling this time next year.

More bodies the better. I haven't been that impressed with him so far, but for free am willing to see what he can do. Might mean Butt is out of the door, or it might mean SA really wants to beef up the squad on the cheap to save the big layouts for top quality which can make a difference. It also might help Luque settle, a friend from old (am presuming they played together at Depo) but for some reason Emre and Duscher sounds a little alarm for some reason. Was their an incident at NT or in the CL at some point? God knows, probably tripping.
