My first thoughts when I read them as well. If I were Sam I'd be showing these comments to the players before the game. Reminds me of a few years ago when Dyer was backing himself in the press to dislodge Scholes from the England team, right before a game with Man Utd. Scholes came out and taught him a lesson in football. Jol really isn't in a position to be making these sorts of comments. Its like going into a bears cave and poking him with a stick while he's asleep, only both your legs are broken and its very dark. Lets hope so anyway.

Well there's only one team thats going to be geared up by those comments.

And wouldn't he of said something in that article about it if he thought the boos were for him? He talked about one guy, i'm sure he'd have something to say about a couple of thousand.
-
Very good point. but it wasn't just 1,take a look on here to find there is quite a sizable minority who think that way and the booing was loud enough for everyone to hear. But most have established that the booing was for subbing Martins off, not bringing Owen on. they booed the substitution. you know what a lot of people think re owen, you know the booing wouldn't have happened if martins was going off and someone else had been coming on. But i think it would. There was no reason to boo Owen when he was coming back that soon from injury. Dyer only got slightly boo'd after years of fuking the club over. Its paranoia to think Owen was being boo'd

WHU announcer being more embarassing than Delia Smith there!

I can't imagine Keane being told to buy anyone he wasn't happy with can you? Just not sure Keane/Quinn can actually attract the players they think they can. They can be as rich as Chelsea but if the top players don't want to sign for you then you're struggling. They'll do ok and stay up but they'll blow all of their beans in the process imo. Well he does say he's a different man now to what he was as a player. He's got to understand he cant have it his own way, and really, the Irish angle has been sold to him as easy as selling a Geordie angle to say Shearer. He knows the clubs stance on transfers, and he lives with it, whether or not he sees it as a good plan or a temp one i don't know, but what they wanted to achieve they have so far, and on that basis its worked. He just needs to take it to the next level, but you are right, it will be hard to attract the right players, but if they stay in the division their stock will improve greatly come next season.

You obviously never saw the penalty we concede against Chelsea this season then. From looking at your numerous "let's drive our best player out of the club" posts I can see a few of you are loons but you seriously cannot believe that we're favoured by refs!! You obviously didn't see the Villa game.

Very good point.

Yep, very nice.

I like the look of Jones, however £6m was a tad silly. Roy Keane has made them put points on the board, and they'll raise their game against us, but apart from that, theres nothing there. But i can see him being backed heavily in the winter window, whatever the position they are in, i think that will be the big difference come May between them and other clubs looking to stay in the prem (ie Boro who haven't got a pot to piss in) Agree with that. Jones looks handy but other than him, there's absolutely no-one else to be wary of. They'll work hard and grind out results, especially at home but I'm not sure how well Keane will spend in January. He had a boatload in the summer and bought a load of shite tbh. Give £36m to someone like Redknapp and he'd transform the squad and you'd see the improvement straight away. TBF to Keane though, how much influence has the board and sponsors had in his signings? They wanted an Irish core, board, backers, manager, players to attract Irish fans. Its worked as well, loads fly across to see them play, but at the cost of maybe going for someone a little better from a different Country. Maybe, i think so. I'm not saying thats the only thing, but its surely had some effect on his spending somewhere down the line. He's played his contacts to the best of his abilities (Irish & Manure) but he needs to work outside his safe zone if he wants to take them to the next level, a stable prem club. But before that he can buy Carr off us.

Hopefully a promotion.

Great, two teams i cannot stand coming up, lets hope for injuries, red cards, fights and tears. Bellamy could possibly supply that lot on his own.

Its the BBC FFS, have you seen who they've got working for them? Their highest paid person is J. Ross on £6m a year, aye he's funny but not that funny. Gay Norton is on £3m a year and he's not even funny, just gay. They lose money, demand money off us, produce utter shite, make shit up, and cost people their jobs. Unfortunately its not the ones the general public really have a problem with. As for their footballing department, its fuking abysmal. Motson is a wanker, Lawro is a thick cunt, Hansen is an arsehole, Lineker is a boring shite, Shearer is a novice, Wright is on something and now this woman. A woman FFS! I avoid MOTD like the plague, same with ITV football, they just haven't got a clue. Sky is the only one worth watching, say what you want about their influence, but just thank your lucky stars its not the BBC who have that power, we'd all have our heads caved in through severe depression by now.

1 out of 3. Stay fit & sign a new contract would complete the set, in that order. This being an important step though towards that.
-
Last thing he'd want is to be seen as a RA and get taken for a ride everytime you go for a player. Decent foundation this year, if we can keep them all fit, its a canny squad, couple of players in Jan (LB & AMC) , then a nice refit in the summer (out: Carr, Babayaro, Ramage, Butt, Ameobi, all replaced) and we should have the team we all want.
-
yeh your mate 'clatts' did well if you dont include the following: Not giving Everton 2 stone wall penalties Not sending off Dirk 'karate kid' kuyt Getting influenced by the moody twat Gerrard Not booking the even moodier twat Carragher a long time before he did Giving every 50/50 decision Pools way About sums up a shite performance. The FA should demote him, if it were against Liverpool he'd never be seen again.
-
Surely the BBC would be fuked if so. I say yes.
-
Far too young. Did Stelling mention him? RIP.
-
Ref paid up in full in this game.

Liverpool are lucky cunts like. Harsh sending off imo, deffo pen though. Back in a game they've been humped in from kick off. Jammy cunts.

Too much quality to fail and fall out of the top 4. Their backup is good enough to finish 5th at least. Grant maybe a bit s****, they may have their problems, but i cant see their home record dissolving too drastically in the near future, however, they are very vulnerable to some sticky results. Its a good time to play them, its a good thing for the EPL. West Ham were supposed to have had too much quality last season to get involved in a relegation battle. A team full of good individuals doesn't always translate into a good team. Especially considering the situation with Drogba being unhappy. Who else is unhappy? I can well see Chelsea dropping out of the top four this season. WHU squad didn't win the league twice.

Since Tottenham wouldn't even speak to you for less than £30m.
