Also as 4th strikers go, he's not a bad option, considering Viduka only has a solid one or two years at a push, and Owen wants to leave ASAP, then getting rid of Shola is the last thing we need to do, maybe when utter s****, and utter c***s such as Carr & Babayaro have left and we've got 2 players for every position we can look to offload, not until then. I'm glad he's thinking like this, especially for the CC. Its our Europe this season, and for the 1st half only that competition and the league is all we play in, as long as we get a nice run and not Chelsea away in the 3rd round or something equally as tough as per usual, then there is no reason we can't get to the final of this competition.

TBF to Keane he hasn't got much pull with anyone he doesn't know. Non Manc & non Irish are going to be a bit weary of joining a football club that keeps getting into the EPL only to break its own record of least points and go back down in humiliation. No decent players in Europe are going to touch them, and all the frees are being tied up day by day, the best have gone. ATM he's doing what he can, getting good championship players in, and they are improving his squad, but not in the great leaps he's going to need to have a decent season and surviving the drop. He's missed a trick not signing Billy Sharp, i hear Sheff Utd got him for £2m, my tip for the Championships top scorer for next season, a cheap mans Owen. So his options are bring in top Championship players, bring in Irish players who idolize him, or tap into his old Manu contacts, thats all he can do for now. But as the window goes on, he's got more of a chance of bringing in EPL players for the right price. Clubs will have their new signings, will be willing to allow others to leave, and some may need to sell just to bring in somebody else, and this is why he must wait and strike at the right time. If we bring in the palyers we should, the likes of Carr, Babayaro & Butt could probably be had for £1m all in. Not that am saying Sunderland will go for them, its just an example of a team refreshing its squad, Citeh & WHU are both in the same position & the Spuds have a revolving door policy.

I'd rather bring in the new slim line Ronaldo than Raul. Raul isn't world class anymore, and hasn't been for years. Too slow for the EPL now, cemented in Madrid, would cost a bomb in wages and high transfer fee and we don't really even need a forward. Wrong move for Newcastle, not that i think for one minute he'd want to come here. Deco is the kind of player we need, but i just don't think he'd suit our team at all. Both players for me are very good, but completely the wrong types for Newcastle. Would much prefer D'Alessandro over Deco.

Like i said, without Grip the man is a failure. The brains of the outfit has come, Citeh should do well. I'd have liked to see Sven without him, but i think he'd of struggled too much and knows he had to bring him in from the off.
