If it bothers you that much you search for it, i did one, 1st article: (probably not good enough for you, but then again i'm not really arsed (not about you btw, about proving a point)) He was reclusive end of, in business and personal life. http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/tm_headline=billionaire-s--133m-bid&method=full&objectid=19182749&siteid=50081-name_page.html Philip Beresford, who ranked him 54th on the 2006 version of the list, said neither he nor his staff could ever manage to contact Ashley and described him as "easily Britain's answer to the late Howard Hughes". & He is thought to live alone in a large house on the edge of a Hertfordshire village. The building is hidden by trees, and CCTV cameras keep watch over the locked gates at the entrance to the half-mile drive. His neighbours say they never see him. At the nearby pub, nobody has heard of him. When the local newspaper attempted to find out more about him a few months ago, they eventually resorted to placing an advert in their own pages appealing for information - and no one responded. Guess the guy wasn't reclusive afterall.

No man, i disagree, i genuinely think nufc is a toy with him, i know businessmen lie all the time like politicians but i cant help but think that his interview the other day had some genuine felings in there, showed to me that he just wants to watch football and enjoy life whilst making a success of the club as well as himself. Cool, you disagree and i believe he is genuine down to earth bloke too. However, his PR company have done a fantastic job and all of the meeting the fans, buying the drinks, getting to know fanzines has openly been expressed as 'PR' by Mort. Just because something is 'good PR' doesnt mean it has to be cynical or lying, its just that, good PR and in a customer-centric high volume retail business, PR is as important as branding. When it comes to taking over a football club its even more important. When it is seen in the context of the Glazers it becomes the most important thing in the whole piece. Will not hear otherwise either. His excellent PR strategy is a credit to him/them imo. Thats it like, really knows what he's doing for a recluse! If thats an attempt at sarcasm then i am for you. If not then how is his social life relevant to his business skills? Or his muli-million pound marketing department's skills to be more precise? All these public appearances connected to the club, yet before this there were about 5 photos of the man you could find on the net. The club has changed him. Or he learned a lot from the floatation. I'm not saying he isnt genuine but to not think of all of this in the context of PR is naive. Whether or not all this is intentional, or if its genuine, it doesn't really matter. The man has won me over, and i'm very happy to have him and Mort in control of one of the most important things in my life, my football club. If its PR, i've bought it, but he didn't have to go as far as he's done, especially since he was reclusive, the attendance at SJP, and visibly being sighted on the lash in a toon top is beyond any PR exercise, again, especially for a recluse. On what basis are you calling him a recluse? Down to earth people tend not to be reclusive. Does he look uncomfortable in his public appearances? You would expect a recluse to be at least that. Just because he didnt believe in having lots of meetings with analysts doesnt mean he is a recluse. Do you know how visible he is internally to his SportDirect employees? Thats a good comparison. Whatever TT, if you dont get what i'm saying then fine. No need to get stroppy because someone doesn't have an opinion that matches your own. It was well documented by just about every media source that he was a recluse when the takeover was going on, i can't even begin to think why you'd doubt that. That includes his employees from his other businesses, nobody ever saw him.

    The fulcrum.

A right-winger and left-back on low budget in January, then Arteta and Berbatov in the summer. Sounds good to me, although i wouldn't bother with Berbatov, his attitude stinks, he'd cost a bomb, and he'd be 28 by the summer, i'd rather go for someone younger. What? Berbatov's attitude 'stinks'? That's a load of crap. If you were referring to him apparently looking not too happy yesterday, what do you expect? He was sitting on a bench for no good reason (from his perspective). Players want to play, they don't understand the concept of 'resting' unless someone else forces them. Just look at Owen for a prime example of someone who wants to play all the time. So of course he looked like he wasn't having the best time, especially with his team down by 2. And if you weren't referring to yesterday, then I have no idea why you might infer that Berbatov's attitude stinks. He didn't make any noises about leaving Spurs in the summer and since then hasn't said anything in public about his dissatisfaction with the club, if he is even dissatisfied about the club at all. If we miraculously sign him, it'll be a signal of intent to every other fucking club in Europe. If we somehow sign him, we'll have signed a top class player peaking, and someone who could pick any club he chooses in Europe. It would be a brilliant signing. Wanted to play so much he had to be asked 3 times to warm up.
  11. Someone should sign up and pretend to be ITK and confirm this.
  12. Bad attitude from a player who could possibly pull his team out of the s***. When its against you, Berbatov doesn't show. I've had enough of those types of characters at SJP to last me a lifetime, and people have a nerve to call Anelka, this guy is by far worse. Good player, great on his day, but for me considering how much he'd cost, one we can do without. bullshit. he's still at spurs, i think 9.5/10 players in his position would be at manu now, but berb always said he'd stay at spurs. loyal player and seems like a really really top bloke. how many clubs has berb thrown a hissy fit at and left? none. to say he's worse than anelka is just so insane i can't even quantise it. how many spurs players have shown up this season exactly? keane and bale are the only ones i can think of. we've seen 9 games of berb playing in a team that isn't showing (and he also didn't start against derby and us). lets wait till the season is over before we start making judgements on his personality type, anelka has had 6 years to show us what a c*** he is. TT has a point though, when your team is in trouble you look to your better players to try and pull you out of it or provide some inspiration and fight. Berbatov hasn't been that kind of player for them and the signs aren't good. Someone pointed out that last season he only scored once against a top 10 side. It wouldn't surprise me if that is true, he doesn't seem to produce in big games or when the chips are down and the team are struggling. He's a very talented player but he flatters to deceive an awful lot. Delicate touches and flicks are not always the answer, he needs to be more direct IMO, he could be a lot more dangerous than he is. Always, and i mean always the voice of reason.

  14. Good time to play them, i think we can keep a clean sheet with this one, and Martins & Owen could really hurt them on the counter. But we could see a Derby performance as well, so i'm not sure how this one is going to work out. A point would be good, a win would be mint, a loss wouldn't annoy me as much as it would usually at this stage.

SA won't tolerate a specialist 'playmaker'. I wouldn't say that like. He did have Djorkaeff at Bolton for example. Wasn't he more the withdrawn forward type? Not really sure. Aye, that is the classic position for a playmaker though. I don't see a fulcrum as a specialist playmaker imo...More of an allrounder. Fabregas for instance has grown into a fulcrumite from starting more as just a def player with passing qualities...ie He now scores and sets tempo. It was in response to your comment re: Allardyce and his not tolerating a playmaker. If you're talking about a 'midfield general' then Barton's the nearest we've got. Barton is no fulcrumite. Difficult to argue. Seen as I'm not really sure what you're on about.

I think i'd rather go with Pazzini, and bring along Montolivo at the same time. I rekon £20m for the pair could get Fiorentina talking.

We haven't got one, but i think its only a matter of time until we do. The squad needs a few more bodies in the winter window, and as long as we have a decent season i can see Ashley wanting to bring a big name in during the summer to boost our profile and image across Europe. Arteta would be a good shout, amazing player.
  19. Dawson is very limited, but i think we are his bogey team at the same time. He's shit scared of Martins as well. How on earth Jol is still in a job i do not know, long may it continue.
  20. Loved the 'proper' football club comment from dickhead. He's also took himself out of the running, saying that Megson's agent was present and he didn't know it was him until after the interview. Since he's not heard back at all from Bolton he's pulled out. I reckon he's desperate for the job and is trying to force their hands.

I love it how he's been sucked in and is enjoying himself. Fast becoming a legend.
  22. I had a dream last night we were getting beat when i checked the scores on teletext (which i haven't done for about 10 years) then i thought something was odd, checked again and we were playing away, thought to myself thats wrong, checked again and we were then playing Bolton away being beat, again thought to myself were not playing Bolton, checked again and we were winning 3-1 at home to Reading. Make what you will of that, it did however wake me up this morning seriously confused. Cheese before bedtime, legendary.
  23. Oh dear god please let it be! Can't see us hammering them though enough for it to happen, if we win it will be close, if its a riot then who knows!
