Its tough, i can see the problem, especially with Richards along way off being a great player and Gary Neville being injured quite a bit this season. Finnan is a lot better than people give him credit for, but i'd say Eboue, although i hate the cunt would be a better choice.

Jesus wept. You should stop digging tbh, you've taken this argument to the realms of stupidity, and i for one am not getting dragged any further into it. Bye. No digging required my jouvenile friend. Just my personal opinion on a player who would improve us. Fine, you have one, i have one, even R. Mehdi has one, but am not the one being 'juvenile' about this.

No Edmilson? He's world class you know
-
Honestly you are kidding me right? You are seriously not using that to back up your claim that he's world class?
-
Also to say Gilberto is not as good as him is beyond mental, Gilberto is a very under rated player, and i'd much rather see him here than Edmilson.
-
He's not world class but he's not as bad as your making him out to be. He's an average La Liga player who's played above his station and gets away with it because of the quality around him. He's made a lot more of his ability than he should of imo. I simply cannot state how much we do not need this type of player, it will only take time for myself to be proven right about him if he comes to our club.

World class? mackems.gif

Signed a new deal for his club last week as well. Would take a big fee to get him out, but a fee worth it in the end. If we paid £10m for him, we'd have got our moneys worth, and wouldn't lose out as long as FS kept away from negotiating clauses in his contract.

Seem him play plenty of times, never been impressed, has always been the weak link for Country & club and i'm very disappointed we'd be going for him even without all his injury problems, high wages & advancing age. Got to laugh a people always thinking you know jack about a player just because someone doesn't rate him & he's never played in England, so you must only know him from FM or not at all. weak link for Brazil? I've seen many games where he's absolutely held it together for them in midfield, Barca also Soft as clarts, can't tackle, very good in the air but tries to be a flair player far too often, easily distracted, for me a weak defensive player. I've seen him for Brazil, Lyon & Barca, and i've never once seen him have a good game. La Liga as well is the perfect league for him, coming here he'll struggle with the tempo and aggression, both big weaknesses of a very over rated player imo.

have you ever seen him play? you'd rather play Butt, Ramage or Huntington then? Naldo. Now there is a player we should be looking at. I LIKE YOUR THINKING BUDDY!!! He's got just about everything required to be a world class defender. There isn't anyone right now who i'd rather see at Newcastle for the CB role. I think him, Taylor & Rozy would be a fantastic setup, add some decent fullbacks and we've got one of the strongest defenses in the league. It would show our ambition to turn this club around.
-
have you ever seen him play? you'd rather play Butt, Ramage or Huntington then? No, I'd rather us sign someone like Curtis Davies who'll last for years, or Hyypia, a proven Prem player. Edmilson is too injury prone and could be out till the new year. I'd honestly rather take Hyypia than Edmilson and am dead against Sami coming here.
-
have you ever seen him play? you'd rather play Butt, Ramage or Huntington then? I don't really think that is the point tbf. Edmilson isn't the kind of player we should be signing to start ahead of our lot, we want players who don't have any glaring weaknesses and Edmilson has far too many for us to be even considering bringing him in to the club. His injuries, his wages, his age are all negatives, then you have to look at his ability as a defender, which is poor compared to his ability as a footballer. We need strong defensive minded players, i for one would much rather play Butt in the DMC role, and i epxect better to be bought at the back if we are to show serious intent to turn this club around. Edmilson cannot do that, and brings as many problems to our back line as he does solutions. Naldo. Now there is a player we should be looking at.

He just realises football is football and nothing is certain, and not everyone can win, but he'll look at every angle to help achieve success on and off the pitch. I like that mentality, its what the majority of the more sensible fans have been wanting, discussing and expecting for some time now, i think in some ways we out grew our club a long time ago, Bobby's sacking being a pivitol point, and now SA has the same kind of mentality, drive, ambition & common sense as us. Thats the key, its certainly not unrealistic to think we can finish top 6 but it is unrealistic to think we should definitely finish top 6. About sums up my expectations for the season ahead. More sensible thinking from not just the board, the players & the manager but the fans as well will only help. For far too long all parties have had different ideas, different ambitions and expectations from each other and where the club should be. It would be nice to see a totally united Newcastle for once, board, players, coaches, manager & fans all dancing to the same tune, and everyone enjoying it while were at it.

I do. Long after the the players, Sam & Ashley have gone the club will still be here, and its base for financial profit will always be SJP. The bigger the better imo, its always been a special place and always been marveled at for its size, but truth is we need it to be bigger to self support our ambitions under Ashley. I hope if he scraps the hotels scheme, he sill goes for the expansion, i also hope he maybe even sees an expansion beyond FS's plans and would like to finish off the ground if we can come to an arrangement about the buildings behind. TBH this football club means more to the City than those buildings, its only a matter of money to get the go ahead in the end.

We need to tout Dyer about around the London clubs. Fit in well there, hopefully his final destination is about to arrive. Too much money - no end product x injuries = Dyer.

Apparently joe average Edmilson is on £80kpw. I also reckon WHU wage bill will be higher than ours now, i'm not sure but i think we were 6th highest in the league (with a surprise team between us and the big4) when the report came out several months ago. I'd say its gone down from that now & WHU will easily take that spot. My total guess would be: 1: Chelsea 2: Inter 3: Manu 4: Madrid 5: Barca 6: Liverpool 7: Arsenal 8: Bayern 9: Juventus 10: Roma 11: WHU 12: Valencia 13: That other EPL team 14: Some German team 15: Lyon 16: NUFC

Could that be the reason he's still in a job? Or are there still too many readers who buy into his utter shite talk? I was hoping with all the new changes there would be no place for the 'people's voice' anymore and that Ashley might also see the prick as part of the problem and to cease dealing with the Evening Chronicle until the cunt is sacked. 150% wishful thinking i know, but the EC really needs to change their setup and bring in fresh blood, with fresh ideas and someone who can report, inform and give balanced views, and sometimes talking points instead of drivel and dire personal opinions of footballers who he doesn't get on with as they snub him.

The 'War Room' sounds mint. That compared to GR's planning, just wow. These are the changes that will drag this football club into the 21st Century.

Porrit was refusing a new deal last i heard. Toon fan isn't he?
-
6ft5", fuking hell he's a big 'un.

Sorry, totally and utterly shite.
