  2. you can never have enough midgets, tbf... Well this is a circus after all.
  3. A just read this page and tried to settle it. Would have more luck finding a slag in a church TBH. Gavin did.
  4. I think the last bit in bold is particularly significant, and perhaps an area where he has improved since he left Newcastle - one of the most consistent criticisms I've read of him is that he was lazy and generally doesn't do enough or make an impact on the game. It's a part of his game which has really come on this last season, and although it's easy to dismiss a player's workrate, it's been painfully obvious whenever he's not playing that we really miss him. Then again, there's the other side of the coin where he can be infuriatingly casual - in his passing, tempo, clearances, whatever...and that's the problem with Jenas. He's proven that he CAN do everything, often within the space of a single game, but he just doesn't do it consistently enough or chooses not to do it often enough (particularly in respect to the attacking side of his game). Overall, he's a good player (above average) who most teams out there are desperately in need of. However, he'll always pop up with just the odd moment of brilliance, and I doubt he has it in him to really push on. That said, there are definite weaknesses too, the main one being his tendency to slow the game down and a lack of broader perspective/vision. Those things aren't so easily picked up with experience or taught. Sorry like but one of the problems I had with JJ is that he did too much running, always running out of position, always running into the wrong positions, always chasing the ball & game (so you'd end with him covering miles of ground, but very rarely getting anything done) and never getting a hold of it properly. Then when he did, he'd pass it backwards. SBR's fault tbf, trying to turn him into a DMC. JJ is in the same league as Parker imho, they both have very similar weakness, just trade Parker's tackling ability for JJ's shooting ability.
  5. Only ones id change on that list. Birmingham - McSheffery Blackburn Rovers - McCarthy Bolton - Anelka Everton - Tim Cahill
  6. so what if it had been a percentage of his fee then? or something more than £300k how big does it have do be for people to wake up and realise we've been made to look like idiots again? We haven't though. I'm very confident we'll get our £5.8m back from Joey Barton. That's no laughing matter imo. well I hope my next employer is as daft as you only at NUFC tbh, we should copyright that phrase Do you need daft employers to be employed?
  7. it's idiots with that kind of view which allow things like allow the Dyer/Bowyer incident to happen on the pitch do you think that is all forgotten or do you think NUFC is still a laughing stock to the nation? it's just another in a long line of short sighted idiotic decisions How can you compare it to the Dyer/Bowyer fight? signing a player with psychological baggage You are right, we shouldn't of signed Bowyer, but simply because he was a below average EPL player, not to do with his personality. Both combined was a big issue for some people, me included.

  9. We will be a bigger laughing stock when Owen leaves us for £9m, or when Luque is finally free transfered, i hear no one laughing at us sort out as small matter of £300k payment. We ended the bad blood if anything.
  10. If sol wanted to make himself available i think Harry would reluctantly move him on for a small fee, especially after getting in a few CB's already. I think he'd jump at the chance of coming up here, we should of had him last season, but GR messed about for far too long, dick.
  11. It's Hyypiä or Hyypia where isn't letter ä... Not Hyppia, Hyphia, Hypia, Hyyppia... Same that I write Shearer ------> Shicher... How fucking hard it is to write a name correctly, as his name isn't too hard at all... Honestly mate, who seriously give a flying fuk tbh.
  12. Yeah but the problem is CB I'm trying to stay positive but also being a realist, so all the knockers that think i'm being a pessimist can go dry bum there mother! I'd say our problems stem from the fullback positions mainly. We were left terribly open in the centre until Butt came onto form last season and sorted that out, but most of our pressure on our CB's came to due poor defending down the flanks. If this Sagna is as good as his fee of £6m and we also get Baines, i think the central pairing will have a much easer job next season to contend with. Yes true! What I mean't was a leader in the CB position that could marshall the whole back line! That's what we've been missing! Stick Sol Campbell in there and were laughing tbh. Sagna---Campbell--Taylor---Baines £15m (Sagna £6m, Campbell £1m, Baines £5 & Rozenhal £3m) needs to be spent at the back, if we do that we should have a good season with what we've got elswhere barring crucial injuries.

  14. Injuries, negative media attention (main problem), lack of effort, lack of concentration, lack of proper coaching, lack of talent, fan pressure & Stephen Carr. Its a lot to deal with. Bringing them in has always been a problem, and i expect it to be a tough summer so when we land a Baines or equivalent, i will be delighted.
  15. Surely at a minimum they must receive financial compensation. The FA have already find WHU £5.5m, fine them another £10m, double it out of their own money and give the lot to Sheff Utd. I'm sure with £30m they'd not be complaining and would go straight back up.
  16. They can only decide if the decision was right or wrong. Then the can order the FA to rethink their judgment and issue a harsher penalty. They cannot issue any punishment themselves.
  17. ha ha! right you remember that goal at old trafford in the 1-1 draw?....thinking more about it he set up cole with a sweet slide rule ball i think then promptly fell off the face of the earth (something of an exaggeration) All i can remember is he went to play for Cyprus and never came back!
  18. Liverpool's Rick Parry called in as a witness and backing Sheff Utd even though he took Mascherano from WHU.
  19. Fingers crossed for a decent outcome.

Like who? How do you know hes not going to be a top quality player? Were Toure and Vidic seen as top class players before signing for Arsenal and Man United? Vidic was chased by a lot of top teams (Manu, Liverpool, Inter, Chelsea, Madrid) , no idea about Toure.
  22. Was that Milner freekick to Taylor setting it up on a plate for Lita (who needs it on a plate tbh)
  23. You think Milner is worth less than what we bought him for? Yet AV wanted him for the price we paid last season before he had his best professional season so far, not to mention the added money in the EPL? Clouded judgment by terrace hatred. Villa offered us the money BEFORE the add ons. The total sum is reputed to be £5m. Personally I wouldnt pay that for him and nor would Villa last season. I cant be arsed to hate anyone really. Apart from Thatcher. Like I say, we could get our money back but I would prefer he stayed as a squad player. If we move him left then he will get found out just as quickly by the way. He lacks the pace as a support striker. His best bet is moving into the centre of midfield.
