They've got £6m to splash on a leftback? Highly doubt it. I doubt the lad would swap one relegation battling team for another. He wants to move to a 2nd tier football club if he's to leave his life behind and start again.
-
Silly money, they'd be better off buying Bent for £15m.
-
Well if they were offered £17m by WHU, and accepted and he rejected, then he can't complain when they reject the likes of £12m bids from teams he'd rather go to. I think they'd go with £15m plus as long as he wavers any financial right from then since he's the one to reject the massive transfer to WHU. Only fair imo.

I imagine he's still got property over there and it's closer to Africa than England is. Don't see anything dodgy about that. I'd imaging to more to do with being in a place he feels safe and comfortable, he'll have a lot of friends in Italy, people to watch his back, people he can trust, just what you want when someone just tried to kill you tbf. Not having a pop, just saying thats all.
-
Well thats him not going to the African Nations. Italy still very much in his heart i see.

Still the most boring transfer going on right now. Wake me when its done.
-
True about the last line, but both of those examples were young at the time, both are still younger than Rozy now, and both were plucked from obscurity. You could say Rozy is almost on top of his game.

It might just work out. Given our history of spending big to try and sort out the defence. I know what you mean though. Like i just commented, i reckon he's a squad player nothing more, the fee reflects that, but we do need those types of players, but it doesn't detract from the most boring transfer of the summer so far!
-
I do trust him, i expect him to be worth the £3m figure, but thats an average squad player in the EPL, nothing more.
-
If he was something special everyone would of heard of him. At hiss age he's done his learning, he's not one for the future, and the PSG fans dont even know what his best position is, at 26, that's very Aaron Hughes of him.
-
Most boring transfer of the summer so far, and that's not just for us. Average player no on has ever heard of, low fee, only two clubs in for him, neither sets of fans are arsed about the transfer, no direct quotes from the player or NUFC, just yo-yo comments from the French & German camps.

The 0.1% chance Sheff Utd just went to 0.000001%. Compensation or a possible point deduction are the only possibilities for them now. Fukers.

3mins for a statement!

When the original rumour was posted here a few people seemed to think he hadn't yet given up on the club being taken over by the consortium he was backing before he left. Who knows if that was based on anything solid. But if that is the case he'd take some persuading to take another job if there's any chance of being reinstated at Arsenal. But as I said, I hope he has given up on that idea and that Ashley has approached him and convinced him that his future is at Newcastle. I'd piss my pants with excitement if that happened to be honest. He might just want to retire. He could though be the trouble shooter, coming in for a few weeks to give a review of the club, sounds very possible. Good idea if so.

Gerrard isn't old enough to do that yet is he? (sure its over 28 and last two years on contract can be bought out) Reina certainly isn't, and he signed nearly two weeks ago, what been going on since then? Carragher is so fair enough, but his and Gerrards deals were done even before Reina's, so again, what has been going on between 'phase one' and 'phase two'

"IT'S that time of year again ... time for ANOTHER strip" Their words not mine.

NEws now should do themselves a favour and stop linking to the site.
-
Should be sorted soon (or moved on to the next level of discussion)
-
5 year contract then? Should just about cover him, push for 6?

"Nantes midfielder Christian Wilhelmsson could be a major possibility for Toulouse as the relegated club are willing to let him go. The Swedish international, who spent part of last season on loan at Roma, would likely cost around €3million (£2million). " SSN's article. I've seen him a couple of times for Sweden (once against England i think) super sub, can play just about in any attacking position, fast and gets (creates) goals. £2m could be a very good squad player, and also tie us over until Duff gets back to fitness on the left.
-
Just sounds like Yank BS to me. Were moving onto phase two! So he needed to tie down players, who love the club, would never leave anyway and had 2 years plus on there contracts before being able to sign anyone. Why? Its all a bit suspect to me.

http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=472592&CPID=8&clid=14&lid=2&title=Gillett+planning+Reds+moves&channel=football_home& Gillett planning Reds moves By Peter ORourke - Created on 19 Jun 2007 Liverpool co-owner George Gillett insists the club are making plans to bring in new signings. The Reds have been quiet in the transfer market so far with reports suggesting Rafa Benitez was becoming disgruntled with the lack of activity. Gillett is aware of the pressure to bring in new faces and he has rejected rumours of possible unrest with Benitez. The American tycoon says now that they have tied down key players to new contracts they will turn their attention to signing new players. "I sense a pressure building to make signings," Gillett told The Mirror. "The fans know that we have huge regard for Rafa. "We are pleased with Rafa and his strategy. "The first part of the plan was to sign a number of our existing star players on long-term contracts. "That has been done. Now we're moving on to phase two, which is bringing players in."

The badger is a glorified sales assistant. We need Big RON!

Bramble with a younger partner to look after, aye, that will work. Unsworth was free transferred and the other old guy left, i think they've dropped the ball there.
