The five years related to "long term success and stability" the likes of Manchester achieved. So it isn't really a contradiction. Aye he's been asking for continuity, all the best and successful clubs have had their manager for a few years, not chopping and changing. Where the fuk dumb arse Glen finds he needs 5 years to hit top 6 from amgonst that is beyond me. The guy has just shown himself up big time.

That kind of Ronaldo could quite possibly dominate the world again, its not too late for him. Healthy body, healthy mind, however with him its a case of how long until he loses morale and wants to give up on football again.

Never made an anti-Newcastle comment, never mentioned Spurs. Simply copied and pasted the Mail's article. How you interpret that is your problem. Incidentally, I did look around the Uefa site to see if I could verify the figures, I couldn't find anything, maybe you can. "Hardly worth the effort." So you come on here, a NUFC forum, telling us our UEFA cup efforts were hardly worth the effort then when someone gets their back up you tell them its not anti NUFC and its their problem for thinking otherwise.

Go on James, lay the nut on him, finish him off!

I think you need to take a fuking chill pill tbf. Upson isn't worth £8m, Davies is barely worth £7m and Lescott isn't worth much more, and as for the not fit to lace his boots comment, he's not John Terry. My point being there is nothing in this league, so get off your high horse and £15m? Typical Evertonian bullshit at its finest.

Lescott? How much did Everton pay for him? £4m? Offer £7m, although for that i think you'd get Luisao, a few more and were talking Naldo. Lescott, Yobo, Campbell (cheaper) are really the only EPL options available right now, and the 1st two will take some cash to prize out of Everton. Campbell should be snapped up regardless of whoever else we buy, his experience alone would bring Taylor on to the next level. 7m for Lescott? What are you laughing at? You saying he's worth more than £7m? I'd say that's how much he's worth compared to what else you can get abroad if thats not enough for Everton then they've over priced a player yet again. I was saying it's overpriced for a player who's played in the Premiership for a year. Fair enough, but Moyes is Scottish, he's a tight arse, you'd have to pay over the odds to get one of his decent players (yet he expects you to give them away) and Lescott is enjoying a growing rep right now. £7m is an absolute max, a few more games and Everton will have paid £5m in total, so really you've got to start looking elsewhere (which was my point about not many options right now for CB in the EPL for us)

Had his heart set on a move since he heard their new strikeforce is Bent and Keane. Canny.

What, like Joey Barton? Another temperamental but promising midfielder with a dodgy rep? Fact is that this summer there were three midfielders moving around at (very roughly) the same price - Barton, Parker and NRC. I said a while back I'd have been happy with Barton or NRC, they're both good players. Reo-Coker was playing at an absolute basket case of a club last year, so it is very hard to judge him on that. He got a lot of stick from their fans, but then again, to be honest, a five minute glance at kumb will tell you all you need to know about West Ham fans. These are the same fans who told us that the reason Ashley Young chose Villa over West Ham (despite them apparently offering him something like 10k a week more) was that he had a major problem with the dressing room politics there, and that the main problem was NRC in particular. Something which clearly wasn't borne out during the U21 championship when you could tell they were obviously close (post match interviews, body language on the pitch etc) Anyway, I'm just glad we've signed him. Apparently, SWP is currently choosing between us and them, too, so hopefully he'll come down on the side of the righteous as well. I really can't stand West Ham. And yes, the fee is a little on the high side, but what's the point in having these billionaire owners if you don't get them to push the boat out every now and then? You are giving NRC far too much credit to mention him in the same sentence as Barton IMHO, and i said the same before any of the 3 moved clubs, and nothing has changed. He has a big chip on his shoulder ATM, and even when thats gone the talent is only worth about half of the money Villa have paid. I still think he's a good player in there, but he's a long way off Barton's standard, and right now out of the 3 clubs trading, NUFC got the best deal, and i honestly think WHU came in second by a country mile getting Parker in and NRC out for daft money.

Still up for bringing Naldo here, but failing that i'd like the Brazilian centre back from Benfica, Luisao. Always looked solid when i've seen him in the CL, even against tough opponents, Big, strong, doesn't let you down. We need a rock in defense, especially alongside a lighter weight Rozy.

Funny that, When I saw him the other day he told me the total oposite. Aye he told my cat the problem lied within the pink dot on our new strip, he's spent £100,000 on therapy after his pink days of Juve away and cannot go back through that torment again. My cat laughed and called him a puff.

I think Bridge is the best left-back in the world. He would be the signing of the summer imo. Much, much better than Baines. All Baines has over Bridge is youth. imo he's defnitely one of the top 3 LB's I've ever watched, easily world class I'll assume that's sarcasm. Hope so anyway. you really are a pathetic individual Anyway, i partially agree with you, last season he was nothing sgort of sensational, easily Chelsea's 2nd best defensive player, which is canny someone who went out on loan to get games.
-
Maybe he has his eye on someone else, quite possible.
-
Garcia went this morning.
-
Aye, Bridge is by far the better defender, which is what we need right now. Hopefully we can pull this off, should of been done 18months ago mind.
-
Pulls his head out of his arse he could be a very good player for Villa.

Love how having the same opinion as the majority is classed as going with the crowd You candle. And he's a CM, more box to box. He can play Dm but he isn't a DM, the same way Given could play right back but he isn't one... That's like saying I can play LB for newcastle but I don't. Your point is like saying anyone can play anywhere which is true. But my point was Joey Barton can play defensive midfielder quite well. BTW in hinduism Deep means light so the candle theme is quite clever. No, you said he IS a DM. As it's his natural position. You can check like FM if you must. He really did type that didn't he? mackems.gif On that note my opinion is that Joey Barton is in fact an attacking mid, box to box if you like, who has aggression and likes to tackle, nothing more than that.
-
So does anyone know what the Luis Garcia part of the deal was? Was it separate, included in the price or the price stated and Garcia?
-
Hopefully prison and docked points. Doubt it though.

He also put in the 3rd highest amount of tackles, not bad for an attacking mid. Because you can only tackle if you are in a defensive position? Does Barton take corners for Citeh, and would they be included into the stats?

Got to disagree. It's like calling Gerrard a DM. Sure he gets back and helps out in defense, but any center midfielder has to do that too, not just the holding player. A DM has to play a disciplined game. Can't make many runs forward as his primary job is to protect the defense, not get forward. If he makes too many runs forward he'll inevitably leave us vulnerable to the counter attack. In attack his main job is to always provide an option to go backwards if the attack breaks down. Barton is no DM, or would be wasted there at least. Gerrard is far more attacking than Barton.
-
He has looked more attacking whenever I have seen him. He has aggression and doesn't mind putting a foot in but that doesn't make him a DM. And moving forward with the ball doesn't make him an AMC either.
