I think were all in agreement what this club needs right now, new manager, new defense and if possible new owners. Thats just the start, but until that happens we will continue to rot away becoming less likely to be restored to our full glory.

Good post. NUFC to SJH = money. Nothing else. He's at an age though where he wants out and to enjoy his earnings. He tried to keep it in the family with his son who's just a useless prick, and it wouldn't surprise me either if they sold up to FFS. Its a scary thought, but its closer to happening than we'd all like to think. No company in their right mind would touch us, we are a black hole for money & players careers, everything about us spells trouble. Which leaves either those who feel they can strip the club and sell of parts to make more money or someone who cares about the club.

Agreed but could we afford to give Shearer the job? We gave Souness almost £50 million, how much would Shearer demand to spend on players? How much could the club afford to give him while we're carrying so much debt? Appointing Shearer could go either way, it might work but it could also fail big style. I think if were going to bring him in (which is very likely at some point) then we should do it now. At the moment GR is struggling, the players need a lift, need some new ideas and all Shearer is doing right now is making a tit of himself on the BBC making enemies with those who are still in the game. I'd be quite happy to see him come in for the end of the season and help GR out for him to take over in the summer, GR move upstairs and give him next season and a decent budget to have a crack with. Waiting until the season after could be too late, we could be in the Championship as we know the teams around us will only strengthen wisely in the summer while we will either stand still or go backwards, either way, tough season ahead.

I think we should blow whatever budget in the summer we have on defenders. Davies, Woodgate & Baines at a very minimum, a equally as good RB to measure. Whatever we sell after that can pay for other places, but bar a injury crisis like this we don't really need to focus on mid or attack for next season at least. But we wont. We'll release Moore & Gooch. Re-sign Bramble, possibly off load Carr & continue with Babayaro being our only leftback int he squad while going off and signing a £15m striker.

From his performances so far i'd be looking elsewhere at the end of the season. I just hope we didn't pay too much in a loan fee, but knowing us we paid something scatty as we were desperate. He could get better, he prides himself on learning so fingers crossed its just teething problems. If we do sign him though, we need someone else as well, we still haven't replaced Boomshit, Bramble could be going and Moore is a certain to be off, we need a new defense come the summer, thats obvious.

I'd have butt back there if he could actually jump over an inch on the ground. Experienced, leader, determined, good reader of the game, calm head, talker, tought tackler & a decent passer. Shame he has no presence in the air or he could possibly be an option, but with him needed so much in the mid right now we really cannot afford to take a working element out of the team and put him elsewhere. If Parker could pick up his arse i think Butt would work well alongside Taylor/Gooch/Bramble who would be responsible for aerial duties. Were not safe until its mathematically impossible to be relegated and thinking that we are until then can only lead us closer to the possibility of relegation. However like HTT stated, it would take a lot of factors, including 5-7 teams to start playing well for us to go down. But i think a dog fight at the bottom is what this club deserves right now. Hopefully it will give the fat cunt the kick up the arse and sack GR when he see how badly his 1st full season in charge actually finished.
