Was ace at Millwall, good at WHU, poor at Chelsea and well above average at Pompy. He's making progress, the Chelsea machine just churned him up and spat him out, its done it to bigger names and will continue to do so. Can i ask what are you basing his ability on? Which part of his career and do you think he's been just as bad in your opinion at Portsmouth?

Fuck right off man. I wouldn't take him for nowt! Nobby's doing a bloody good job there, but who knows if his legs will take another year. We need a RB but LB is a bigger priority imo. Glen Johnson would be a great signing on the cheap, i fail to see how it would be a bad thing to have him here. He's a mile better than Carr, and Nobby isn't doing the spectacular job everyone seems to think he's doing, he's just not total and utter shit like Carr.

Glen Johnson, out of contract in a year as well. (2008) Bargain price in the summer, say £2-4m.

    Daniel Rose

"Why on earth would he want to ruin his career by going to Newcastle?" mackems.gif Coz staying at Leeds is a great thing for any player, even their captain wants off FFS.
  5. I will stick to English. Similar or better 1. Seb Hines (Middlesbrough) 2. Gary Cahill (Aston Villa) 3. Liam Ridgewell (Aston Villa) 4. Micah Richards (Man City) That said, I don't want Taylor to go, no matter how much they offer. That the same Ridgewell that was being touted for a loan move to Stoke in January? Stop playing champ manager!! Ridgewell is shite, utter garbage, about Ramage standard.
  6. Taylor wont leave, Chelsea simply wont fork out the £20m we'd ask for him. He's not worth it, but neither was SWP's at £21m or many other Chelsea signings. If Davies a Championship player who has been pissed on plenty times this season by championship crap is worth £7m+, then Taylor our very own is worth triple that fee to us. There are too many faults with Taylor right now for Chelsea to really want to sign him. One fault in a Chelsea player these days is turned into a gaping hole, and with defenders thats too big a risk for the club who simply need the very best to deal with the pressure of the circus.
  7. Why? Why do people moan about footballers wages? If footballers got a cap at £50k and because of that the price of tickets went down then yea i can understand but that wouldnt happend all that would have is dividends would go up Why not?
  8. Should limit the whole of football to £50k pw.
  9. Chelsea will not go for a gamble like SGE, they can have their pick (probably Hiddink job sharing with Russia), it certainly wont be questionable appointment like Sven. Anything can and will happen in football, just because a Chairman says one thing doesn't mean he wont do another, or have you not been watching NUFC lately? WHU chairman has shown his impatience already, i expect to see it again before the end of 2007 and if he's inquired about Sven's availability and been told he's free and would like a London job, sacking Curbs wouldn't bother him in the slightest.
  10. Coupled with the over exposed centre its been a tough job for any NUFC defender. Only since Butt has come into form this season have we had ANY protection through the middle for years, probably since Speed maybe longer if you want to be picky.
  11. Made the tackle of the season for me last night. He does get better every season, i cannot see why we wouldn't want to keep him on the books, letting him go is crazy right now, he is a useful squad player, and with better fullbacks next to him he'll get even better.
  12. Rio has been rock solid this season, you could say he's peaking or at the start of peaking. Any defense in the world would be happy to have him right now. Pulled Vidic up to scratch this season (apart from the Liverpool game) and are looking the best central partnership in the EPL this season.
  13. On current form Rio & Carragher. On usual form, Woody & Terry.
  14. Step in the right direction definitely. like you know anything about the bloke he's only about one thing - money. He's a money man, end of. Even worse, he knows where the money is to be had in football - the gullible fans the naivity on here never ceases to amaze Is this you deliberately misrepresenting my post, in some kind of revenge gesture, because that's what I did to yours yesterday? I'm happy to play that game if you want. Did I say I knew anything about him? My comment was about the appointment of someone, other than Fred, to the post of CEO, which is a good thing. As has been pointed out above, anyone with even the slightest bit of business knowledge would be aware that it is highly unusual in a company of NUFC's size for the position of Chairman of the Board and CEO to be held by the same person. It's highly unusual because it's widely considered to be "dodgy as fuck" (that's a technical term, by the way), as one is supposed to be the check on the activities of the other. The fact that NUFC has had Fred in both roles for quite a while now is one of a number of reasons why investors have been reticent to invest in the club and the fact that the situation has now been rectified is therefore a step in the right direction. You're right, he is a money man, although the fact that he has risen to a relatively senior position at Barclay's suggests that he should be quite a good money man to have on board. Personally, I'd have preferred to have had a CEO with more of a business, rather than finance, background, and I'm a little worried that this guy has been brought in to seek further debt-based funding, as that appears to be his area of expertise. But - as HTL can confirm - I've been saying for that Fred should bring some people with different experience and knowledge into the club at a senior level for ages and I've criticised him for not doing so. So, I'm not going to be petty enough not come out and support it, now that he has. However, I'd like to see a couple of additional appointments follow on from this because it isn't enough on its own. Sorry Vic, but the only naivety I can see here is from you in suggesting that the money in football would come from anywhere other than from the fans. It all comes either directly or indirectly from the pockets of the fans, isn't that obvious? Also, it's not always about squeezing more money from the long-suffering punters, sometimes - and I think this is particularly the case with NUFC - it's about using the money that you already get from them, better. This is where I think Fred is particularly poor, we're always up there with the big-boys when it comes to income, but that rarely, in fact never, gets reflected by the performance on the pitch. This proves that we spend our money in a less effective way than many other clubs, every pound we spend achieves less than a pound spent by Arsenal, for example. A larger and better senior management team would, in my opinion, not only generate more income, but also improve the effectiveness of the ways in which the club spends the money it already gets. Hopefully this appointment is the first step in doing that, or you could say: A step in the right direction. A new angle, fresh thoughts and hopefully some sensible ideas on how to cut down our debt & spending, improve turnover & expand business opportunities so we can fund better players in the future. Like to see how much the guy is earning for this, but no doubt his yearly wages is half that of Owen's monthly wage so no real worry there. We need a football man in there though, i hope Freddy doesn't think thats him, but no doubt he does. A football man Vs money man head to head in the boardroom should be able to pan out the best of ideas for the club, a good balance between them, if thats how things work at that level, i do not know. Anyway, am in agreement, its good news to get someone else on board, this shower of shite simply are not good enough to run a tap nevermind a football club.
  15. http://www.sportnetwork.net/main/s474/st112580.htm?fromrss=1 Diouf Drops Emre Claim By Mark Heys - March 1 2007 Bolton striker El-Hadji Diouf has decided against taking action against Newcastle United midfielder Emre following allegations of racist abuse in a game last year. Turkish international Emre supposedly made derogatory comments to the striker about the colour of his skin when Bolton played Newcastle in a game at St James Park in October 2006 but now no complaint will be actioned Despite this, the football association have received further complaints regarding comments made by Emre to Watford's Al Bangura and will therefore be furthering their investigation into the matter. A statement issued this morning read: "Following the allegations which appeared in the media of alleged racist incidents involving Emre, the FA wrote to El-Hadji Diouf and Al Bangura to ask them if they were able to provide statements." "El-Hadji Diouf has responded and confirmed he does not want to pursue the matter. Al Bangura has responded with a statement and further investigations will now be made"

  18. The most over-rated wank league in the world, shit violent cuntish fans at it again? Never!
  19. Needs a kick up the arse. Going the same way as his brother, but has yet to become the footballer his brother is, bad fuking sign. I believe he could be better, but he needs a rocket up his arse, and i'm simply not confident we would be the ones to do it.

We''l be laughing our tits off we even asked the question in a few years time.

I removed the things that meant the same thing, and balanced out the so called bad points. If you insist No point getting fussy about it, he's never going to sign for us since GR reckons its under 25's from now on. Aye, the GR that is giving 32-year old Sibierski a two-year contract. 18 league goals in his ENTIRE boro career. He's one shit hot mutherfuker tbh. Like i say, he'd only be cover here anyway. When he plays, he scores goals. It's as simple as that really. Technically he can as he's already at the club Cover though? How much is that cover going to cost us in wages? Too many reasons not tbh. The same amount of wages as an £8m player will demand, who will probably turn out to be less effective anyway. Martins and Owen is going to be the partnership next season, it should work, and even though Roeder is bringing in another striker for definite - he shouldn't tamper with the system and try to fit three strikers in. Because it won't work. Therefore, whoever he brings in, is effectively going to be cover, atleast for the time being. And a £5-10m striker is likely to command similar wages to that of a Viduka. For cover, £0 transfer fee + £40k a week is better than... £5-10m transfer fee + £40k a week Which pretty much blows your cost problem out of the water. The player's right and the price is right as far as i am concerned. He'd be ideal for us. Na, am still not convinced. He'll want £2m+ sign on fee for starters. He'd moan about starts and if were not going to give him the 1st team football he wants, he wont give us the commitment needed. And its still Mark Viduka, it make me feel ill at the thought. Do you remember Rob McDonald, Billy Rafferty, Ian Baird, Frank Pingel, Dave Mitchell and Tony Lormor ? Have you even heard of them ? Good job our shit board doesn't set their sights on top players like those, eh ? Aye fantastic band, were excellent live. Shame about the drummer though, terrible things do happen when you mess about with alcohol, drugs and midgets, but that's ROCK & ROLL for you!

    Mark Viduka

Na, its Mark Viduka FFS (and in that lies the problem. I hate the fat twat, and i know a lot of toon fans will feel the same about him. Just one of those palyers that grates on your tits, he really did at Leeds and moving to the Smogs topped it off)
  23. Dokko

    Mark Viduka

18 goals in 61 games. 1 in 3 There's a lot worse, tbh. And i'd still, for cover - which a new striker would effectively be, rather go for that than for someone untried and untested in the Premiership. There is, true. But that was his peak, its all downhill from here.
