Thats a lame fuking excuse. You went away for a good hour and thats the best thing you could come up with? Dear me how.

Gallas leaving on the final day against Jose's wishes has been a big blow to them. Remember when Cole signed Jose said he wasn't happy Gallas had gone the other way, and didn't know about it until the deal was done. Then during the 'injury crisis' last month he said they were suffering because HE let Gallas go, so it was his fault for leaving the team short at the back. Blatantly having a dig at the board, blaming himself for something but it was nothing to do with him. The problem for me is Mourinho this season, he's just not focused and i think Kenyon or Roman have upset him, probably to do with the reasons Bellers mentioned about buying older stars above his head, but also the sale of Gallas which he didn't want to happen. He's 90% there, but you can tell he's not 100% behind his team or the club.

 That is one of the saddest, most pathetically childish things I have ever seen on the internet. Congratulations FP. blueyes.gif http://server3.uploadit.org/files/29Dokko-spacka.jpg

Why have you changed the poll options round? Does it mean that much to you? So those who voted in stadium are now voting on TV? Jesus wept, that is sad as fuk tbh.

I used to love going to the match and taping it for when i got in. Two totally different games.

Is it not just two at a time, and 4 over the season (or 2 long season loans)? If not then your right, we shouldn't be looking at him. Isn't it 2 from the same club? Leeds has about 6 in on loan when they were relegated from the Premiership. AM not sure if its two long loans or two loans from the same division. (leeds had Bravo etc from abroad) But am sure (for example only) we could get Diarra, and loan say Andrade & Cassano for the rest of the season, with no problem. Confusing.

My old avatar got banned at the demand of <10 year old. What was it? Who requested it be removed? Maddog. It said it was porn but denied it when I reckoned it was frightened of being caught on the forum at school, but it later admitted it. Check your PM for the avatar. Nice half a nipple, jesus!

Cracking little player, or so we've all heard, but i've not seen enough of him to say he's the next whoever. I'd happily take the body on loan, even though in the centre were ok. I'd like it even more if he was to be Butts replacement at the end of the season if all this hype is true. Diarra & N'Zogbia would be two cracking players to have for the future, and would hopefully keep each other happy, but am getting way ahead of myself. But the lad will struggle to make a career at Chelsea, especially with Obi & Kalou ahead on him on the bench.

Fine. I admit my poll question could have been better. I don't want to know what's the best place to WATCH football, but the best place to ANALYZE football. So I'm not talking about atmosphere etc. Poll question altered. Votes Reset. Best place to analyze is is probably about 20 seats up smack bang in the middle of the stadium above the dugouts. Its why some assistant sit up there, Sam Alladyce used to do it all the time for the 1st 20mins, then come down and speak, or use his mobile to communicate to the bench. That would be the best view in the house, and is probably equal to sitting in front of a 42" HDTV split with player cam, and ace commentary. That's how you've got to compare each one, not sitting in a stand 500meters away to sitting in front of a TV.

Rather be in the stadium, but if not the pub is the second best place to watch a match.

The supporters of every single team in the league would say exactly the same thing. I think we have a case this time though, do you not?

You're right, when commenting on how easy it is to sign players, examples of the lack of transfer activity from other teams in the same league is completely irrelevant. How could I be so foolish, I shall base all my future arguments on what Newcastle United can do solely on what happens when I play football manager. I see how it works now - say for instance, if we were in the market for a goalkeeper, Ben Alnwick is the only one we could have possibly looked to buy. Now I understand how this all works I won't make such a silly mistake again. Sorry, I didn't realise your comprehension skills were poor, I'll try and spell it out for you. Every other club in the premiership is constantly looking for new players in certain areas. They have all made "plans" on who they would like, ready for the transfer window (except us of course). If transfers are easy and quick as you claim, then you would expect a glut of transfers would be made within the first few days of the transfer window opening. After 8 days only 8 transfers in have been made by all the teams in the premiership combined (according to a usually reliable source, maybe there are 1 or 2 more not listed). This suggests that transfers are in fact not easy and quick, and that anyone who thinks it's just a matter of "planning or identifying any targets in advance of the window opening" is a simplistic idiot. Do you see how it works now? The problem i have is there isn't many teams in the EPL that were in need of reinforcements as much as us, not a single one. But nothing has been done about it and if it wasn't for a red card we'd be out of the cup, as it is, we've now got another game where our battered team must perform, or half our hopes for the season is shot down. Players can be signed quickly, Nobby deal was done in a matter of hours bringing him back here, some deals take longer, some never go through, but the problem is, were not even trying, well thats how it looks to me. Maybe you see us doing everything in our power to sign players, i just keep on hearing excuses while the window ticks away. I might be getting ahead of myself, maybe im impatient, but if your constantly let down time and time again then you sort of get the feeling one more time is coming your way.

We dont need Ljungberg, i'd say West Ham do. Not much creativity when Benayoun goes off form, and Etherington is shit. Boa Morte down the left, he was going for SWP down the right but now has (maybe) Ljungberg. Its not that much panic tbh, both good buys, Quashie is solid and consistant someone for when Re-coker is letting them down. Just a journeyman, the only thing consistant about Quashie is his abilty to get relegated from the premiership....4 times so far!! 5 times would do me nicely Now that's harsh, poor guy. I wouldn't mind them going down, tbh, i dont really care who as long as its not us. Maybe if we were near the top i'd pick a fav and pray they'd go down. But with only 4-5pts in it, 16 games or so to go, they will make it, i reckon Wigan need to watch themselves this year.

Fair enough.......but what happens if they've signed Boa Morte and Ljungberg on big money only to go down anyway.... Still good buys?? As it happens, I think they'll get out of it this season but I still get the impression that something isn't quite right at West Ham. It just doesn't ring true and I think it'll go tits up within a few years. No reason for thinking this - just a hunch. They are planning for a big escape though, not looking back, only forward. Too many clubs dont spend right when in that zone around this time, and go down because of it. (also not many have the chance to spend big like they have, they are taking advantage) I think without spending WHU had a good chance of staying up, but with extra creativity in the mid, maybe a striker to partner the returning Ashton, and they'll be above us in no time. I get that feeling too. But WHU have never been right not for a long time considering how much young talented players they've produced in the last ten years.

http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,1985840,00.html?gusrc=rss&feed=5 Martins shaken by rumours of Chelsea move · Newcastle say speculation over player 'agent driven' · Nigerian striker would fill gap in Blues' front line Michael Walker and Matt Scott Tuesday January 9, 2007 The Guardian Newcastle United are increasingly concerned that an "agent-driven" plan to move the striker Obafemi Martins to Chelsea in the January transfer window may unsettle the Nigerian. It is said that Chelsea view Martins, who joined Newcastle from Internazionale in August, as a potential pacy partner for Didier Drogba, but within St James' Park there is anger that the story may be a fabrication. "This is agent-driven, it is not from Obafemi Martins or Chelsea," said a senior figure at Newcastle, who pointed out the close working relationship between the Newcastle chairman, Freddy Shepherd, and Chelsea's chief executive, Peter Kenyon. The club are emphatic that Martins is not for sale and that there has been no contact from Stamford Bridge. Article continues Chelsea may well be in the market for a striker, given their over-reliance on Drogba for goals this season and the relative failure of both Andriy Shevchencko and Salomon Kalou, both bought last summer, to make an impact. The Ukrainian in particular has provided scant return for a £30m investment, and the Ivorian striker Kalou was among those recently singled out for criticism by Jose Mourinho after a string of mediocre performances. The club have been linked with a move for the Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe, who also fits the profile of a small, fast foil to Drogba's powerful game. A move for Martins, 22, has apparently been the subject of discussion on the Chelsea training pitches as players speculate as to who might be added to the squad. Newcastle do not want to give the story credibility by publicly commenting on it but behind the scenes they are sure where the connection has come from and why it has been made. Martins signed a five-year contract when he arrived from Internazionale for £10.1m in late August and has handled the burden of inheriting Alan Shearer's No9 jersey with increasing confidence over the past five months. He has nine goals in 22 starts and Newcastle's manager, Glenn Roeder, believes his best form will be seen after his first season in English football. Martins is said to be happy on Tyneside but with Michael Owen still recovering from long-term injury Newcastle can ill afford to lose their main striker. There appears to be more substance to surprise interest from PSV Eindhoven in another expensive Newcastle forward, the underachieving Albert Luque, but it is unlikely the Spaniard would move to the Netherlands given his enormous salary at St James' Park, where he was signed for £9m from Deportivo La Coruña by Graeme Souness 18 months ago. Newcastle are now willing to listen to offers for Luque but it seems PSV would only take the 28-year-old on loan. Under Roeder Newcastle resisted that route with Jean-Alain Boumsong, eventually selling him to Juventus for £3.5m, and it is almost certain they will do the same with Luque. Officials from PSV are expected on Tyneside this week for preliminary discussions but their journey will prove fruitless if the maximum they are prepared to offer is a loan deal in which they require Newcastle to continue paying a significant proportion of Luque's weekly wage. Hertha Berlin's £5.5m-rated centre-back Josip Simunic last night linked himself with a move to Chelsea. "I am aware of Chelsea's interest in me, although I can't say much more," said the 28-year-old Croatian, who was shown three yellow cards by Graham Poll during Croatia's World Cup match against Australia - the country of his birth - last year. "It has been a dream of mine since childhood to play in England and I hope to fulfil it sooner or later. But Hertha will have the final word on the matter. I will only be able to move to England if they accept Chelsea's offer."

I'm starting to fear something similar to last time has happened, where we get all starry eyed because we've been given a little sniff at getting a big name player we don't need like SWP or someone and we're fannying about looking into that with mundane stuff like a left back on the back burner until the night before the window shuts. Its not going how i hoped thats for sure. SWP is a loan shot, nothing more, thats how i see it, we should not be concentrating on it. We should of been throwing Luque back across to Spain as fast as we can, swap loan, Cassano, Andrade, Collocini or some other £5m-ish star not happy and wanting to leave, that should of been done by now, or at least building momentum, i mean WTF is Luque's agent doing? (sitting on a nice fat pay day here probably) We need to be looking at sensible buys, but all i hear is other teams looking at our players for peanuts, and us going for daft targets like Bent & Crouch when we cant afford to blow whatever little money we have in this window on these types of players. A leftback is priority, we have only one, he's shit and a lazy cunt, we need another simple as. If we finish this window without one, this club is beyond saving.
-
Really? He's one of the last players I'd take off their hands. He's finished, and hasn't the legs in the Premiership. Was really just saying it would make more sense (the story), but i still dont think he's finished. Straight swap, no way, he's not worth the money we paid for Martins anymore.
-
Swapping a forward for a right-winger would hardly be a sensible move. You missed the bit where i said tribal Yeah I saw that, know it's a wank site, just wondered how anyone could come up with something like that. Acid mate, and the good stuff. If they had put a loan swap involving Sheva, it might have caught some bait.
