Wigan call in administrators

They get proper riled up about how much we rate Rafa yet dislike Bruce and pardew. Had we turned on Rafa (like they would have) then they’d be lauding him as a world class manager that we ran out of town. The fact we stuck by him and him us even in the championship boils their piss.

1 of them has left, and at least 2 still haven’t accepted contract extensions.

It’s funny when they keep saying ‘and I thought we hit rock bottom when...’ unable to realise more is coming their way. The bigger they are, the harder they fall, and these fuckers have fell through a gigantic sinkhole with all the things that apparently make them a big club weighing them down further. Mark Campbell is sniffing again and apparently in advanced talks. Out of the fire and in to the furnace. The only advantage they had over the rest of the division was crowd size. That's now gone if there's a L1 season at all it'll probably be BCD and fan income will be, broadly, equalised. Even then a lot of them are saying they're not putting another penny in until The Don goes. Sponsorship will be virtually nothing, merchandise will be very small I just don't know how they're going to honour the contracts of Cattermole and Oviedo let alone the players still there. The owners have no cash and they've already borrowed £10m. Players still need to be paid and refunds given out. They're staring into the abyss and it could be years and years of rattling around in L1 and 2 before they get themselves out of the shit. Even crowd size has had its negatives. Players who are at this level and have been brought in have struggled to play in front of large crowds with big expectations. Additionally the big crowds in their big stadium has opposition rocking up wanting to perform on this stage, for some of them the biggest they’ve played in. They also know the crowd can be counterproductive and the away team can get under their skin quickly, especially when they apply pressure to their players on the ball forcing mistakes...then comes the beeeeeeeeeew. Every last thing that should make things easier for them has held them back. The cost of running the stadium, the crowds, the expectations, the academy costs and their perceived better players, some who had premiership experience. It’s been a canny act from the owners to inflict this much damage, and most of it not on purpose. It’s like some bizarre experiment Played out by a computer to see how quickly you can ruin a top flight football club but it wasn’t quick enough 1st time round so they added sim city style disasters to speed it up. Next up safc invaded by aliens. Stadium of Light built on an as-yet undiscovered Sunlin Burial Ground, evil zombie lads fans crawl up from under the turf and beat the first team 2-1. MLF-Z only had 9 players as well as 2 choked to further death on the swirling plastic bags as they rose from the ground.

They'll have to start putting something in soon, as the government contribution starts reducing to 60% from August, isn't it? They could be screwed if there are still no crowds by October when the Furlough scheme is due to end, and they have to start paying everyone in full again. Footballers contracts are funny. As an employee in any other industry you could walk away and find alternative employment. If a player could do that then thry could lose just about anyone on their books. Could be a new 'Bosman' if someone challenges this maybe. But aye, Academy will probably be shut down. I don't think they own the Academy of Light and training facilities anymore. Interesting to think a new ruling could come in to play, I’m surprised it hasn’t been discussed more openly. If they don’t own them then they are in serious trouble. They do own them, they are just secured against the loan they got from FPP. We only have the dons word for that right now. God knows what he’s done to try and keep fpp at the table. Wouldn’t surprise me one bit that they’ve sold those assets outright. The bewks have been well and truly cewked.

Wasn't that what happened last summer? Shit

Who? Bri tonne, no, doesn’t ring a bell old chap.

The academy manager left today. Sticking the knife into their staff too so they don’t get addicted to furlough. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/sunderland-afc/sunderland-afc-extend-furlough-scheme-staff-and-players-will-no-longer-top-staff-salaries-2899202 I think the combined rumour was he’s leaving and it’s shutting down. What came out later was he’s left, praised for keeping the L1 status and everyone is furloughed right through. So no one is exactly sure what is going but I believe if the academy isn’t staffEd in the summer then they’ll at least lose their L1 status. How true that is idk.

Rumours thry are closing down the academy. Not even dropping it down a level or 2, but full on closure.

Probably begins with Q and ends with Atar. Cash for questions alive and kicking. In 2020.

Someone needs to update their web certs, expired 2 days ago and safari is throwing a wobbler

Why should they? They aren’t in it for the limelight like other parties. They’ve raised concerns and have kept it private not to antagonise decision makers. It also builds trust for future communications. Literally doing the right thing, and the only party to have done so. I mean, I’m not even a member, but feel like joining based on the way they’ve handled this.

From Netflix to love island. Such a desperate attempt to stay relevant.

There you go. Do their opinions not matter? Sure more people have signed that petition in less than a day than are signed up members to NUST. Didn't say they didn't, but NUFC twitter is not even close to be representative of the fan base. Just ask anyone involved in any of the protest work be it Pardew, Ashley stuff, walk outs etc. What's NUST got to do with it? It’s a large enough group of people to be taken seriously And comparable in numbers to NUST, so should not dismissed or looked down upon. Some will also be members of NUST. People on here have called it pathetic, for me looking down upon fellow NUFC fans for venting their frustration in a calm manner is way beyond pathetic. I haven't. But I haven't signed it as I think it's a little dangerous asking for a solution now - if people want the takeover then we simply have to wait until the Premier League approve it. There are clearly incredibly complex issues they are considering. Pushing them to do it quicker - while unlikely to have any influence - if it did, would surely more likely result in a refusal and us being stuck with Ashley going forward? The NUST letter on behalf of their members might have no impact either, in fact it probably will not, but it was a very strong point by point legal rebuttal of some of the nonsense claims by Qatar re the WTO report and others that have written to the Premier League, undertaken by a specialist barrister from 3 Hare Court Chambers and was sent directly to Richard Masters by legal counsel. I haven’t signed it either, simply as I see no point in it. Those petitions don’t work, even for serious issues, so I don’t think it matters in terms of speeding things up, but clearly shows a united front of a group of supporters venting their frustrations in a better manner than we have done previously. Again, for me won’t make a difference. I’m all for the letter sent by NUST, I think it’s was a good reach out and not one done for the spotlight as others have done, backed up with not publishing the contents. So all in I agree mainly with what you say there, the thing I’m not comfortable with is the dismissal of 10k supporters voices as twitter noise, it’s more than that and the number should be respected by all NUFC fans considering it’s not even 24 hours. Ps, not sure how many voted in that poll where 97% wanted the takeover, but I’m sure it was also hosted on Twitter (might be wrong) Pps...just think what 5 t***s with a coffin can do for your fans image a decade on, a petition is a good place to keep all that energy focused in one spot. It was a member survey, sent only to members via survey monkey or one of those things. I was being facetious in response to your point about this place not being representative of the wider fan base (which I agree with) - we don't appear to really be disagreeing and clearly it is a little more than twitter noise - but my point being in general, all my experience in this sort of thing is that twitter (where we've seen most of the traction for the petition) clearly isn't respective of the wider fan base either - we've seen that time and time again over the years with loads of noise on twitter and little to no action on the ground by the masses that still descend on SJP.
