A few months ago I assumed that we'd see RB & PCP officially bid for the club, pass the test then onboard PIF later where the further tests can take however long it takes. Obviously that didn't happen, but could it have? If so we'd have been home and dry.

I'm not sure what he is, and i think neither does he, which is part of the issue with him. You couldn't trust him at FB, not defensive enough, yet not enough threat as a full on winger. You could play him as a defensive winger, but that requires a FB behind you to double up, which we haven't the need especially in a 3 CB formation. So he's left with that in-between role of wingback. On paper that's what he is, and what he should be good at, but it didn't look like it. Possibly just needs a few games to sort it out. I'd like to see him play WB under Rafa. Think we'd be talking about a different player.

My confidence and thoughts are up and down but trying my best not to let it out on here or get to me. I’m less invested in it now. At the start it was every minute checking (timed perfectly with furlough) now it’s about every 30 or so Also at the start it was all about having something to celebrate, so I was getting quite a bit of drink in, then going through it and having to buy more. If Bruce is peddled and a top class manager with a top class coaching staff comes in why wouldn't he be able to improve? He's a decent player. That's it. There's room for improvement for sure. Why aren't top class managers in for him now if he's available for buttons? Legally they weren’t allowed to speak to him until the start of this week. (god it’s tragic) It’s not player now I’m worried about losing for free, it’s what he becomes in the future. We also can’t go out and buy 24 foreign superstars. We need home and grub grown players in the squad. It could be years before we get anything as good as the longstaffs coming through. I don't think Matty or Sean will be superstars. So we should let them go for free? Not bothered. We've offered Matty 15k p/w, he's only started 6 league games. If someone's willing to pay double that then fair play to him if he can get it. I know, but it’s all we’ve currently got to go off. But the entire squad isn’t doing much better if he ties in 2nd with only a handful of games. His minutes to goals (Goals against top opposition) is probably the best we’ve got and we’re chucking him out on a free and people are happy enough because he won’t reach Messi levels anyway.
