  1. Eventually yes, but why not do something for one match? For what it is worth I can see Santon becoming a central midfielder over the next five years.
  2. Eh? Santon in midfield? Santon is a right-footed wide player who hasn't nailed down a position yet who has a reputed knack for man marking. The objective here is to stick him on Bale. Just don't see the sense in playing a 20 year old on his debut in a new league out of position. Instead of worrying about Bale we should give them something to worry about. Play Santon left back where he is meant to play, Jonas maybe on the Right to help tracking back with Marveaux on the left. With Bale out of the picture, we can rampage them with Obertan and Ben Arfa.
  3. From his own mouth he can play on the wing. Albeit this is a defensive tactic serving a certain purpose.

  8. I want Beckham to be the next manager, I reckon with a good assistant he'd be really good.

  12. Sounds like Harper was speaking under duress and the Forest comment was a secret code aimed towards the fans.

    Alan Pardew

Until he was sacked after that deplorable game against WBA. Much better tactically my arse. Hughton took a team with Carroll, Barton, Jonas, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Coloccini and Enrique, and had them losing 1-2 to Stoke at home. We created one single clear-cut chance all game with that team. Similiar can be said about games against Blackpool, Blackburn and Bolton. Pardew took a team with Krul, Simpson, Perch, Coloccini, Williamson, Barton, Smith, Nolan, Ranger, Best, Routledge, Lovenkrands and Tiote to Stevenage and had them losing 3-1. That post is so strewn with agenda it is worthy of nothing other than complete contempt.
  14. Can you provide a screenshot of this? It disappeared so I presumed someone had fixed. I think if I clicked on it it gave an option for a reported post log and something else, then after that I got an access is denied.

    Hatem Ben Arfa

Absolutely not. Yes, that's true but it was when HBA was about 10 years old, he played in my town and there were some little matches the week end in which my okder brother played with him. If some people don't believe it, i'd just say that for every training and matches, Ben arfa came with hid dad. His dad was clutching (maybe he had an accident in the past) and that is why he always came with a little chair, he sat in and watched his son played. All that was told me by my brother. He also told to me that one day, in a match, they were 5-0 down and Ben arfa was late. Then Hba came at half time and won the match by himself by scoring about 8 goals for his team He was above every one in France when he was a kid. You've never loved a player like that in NUFC ?? So he even had a bad attitude at 10 years old? The coach should have left him out of that game.

Part of what makes a good manager is being the right person at the right time. Pardew fits that bill in my opinion, as did Hughton, Roeder the caretaker, and Bobby Robson.

  18. A moderate button has appeared up top. Doesn't lead anywhere though.

I think people are just concerned about his history of taking off and going to another country when the opportunity arises. If this keeps happening there would be a concern that he is not settling. I would like to know what Ben Arfa's accomodation arrangements are. Hopefully Stainrod is doing his best to settle him.

Is ok him going to Tunisia but we have to manage the situation and make sure that whatever the circumstances we are getting the best from him on the pitch.
  21. not quite the story I was told by a friend of Krul's that there were bids from Feyenoord and Chelsea, and Kinnear tried to sell him, but Dennis Wise got in touch with Krul and told him there were bids but that he wasn't going to allow them as he thought Krul would be our future number one.

Our problem was we had no resilience on the bench and too many of our players were knackered. Hindsight would have said Guthrie for Ba, but the other two subs were then spot on after that, it was just we were running on empty.
  23. Loads of times we seem to have just found ourselves in large amounts of space in forward positions. Not sure if it is bad defending or good passing, but I was of the opinion that we haven't passed as well as in recent games (though still well)
  24. Really good goal, it was like he was just watching a load of players falling over, and he thought fuck it, I'll just score.
