I think it is something about the lower divisions being split into North and South sections a couple of decades ago.
-
Nope because that leaves the next league down short. The solution has always been to reward those clubs who played well, rather than those who have had a bad year hence the extra promotion place. Eventually there will be a place at the lowest tier a team down but there would inevitably be a Pompey FC that suddenly wants to join the football league.
-
Think we investigated the situation before if a team disappears from the league and it is one extra gets promoted from the leagues below. Can't have only two teams going down as otherwise it wouldn't be fair on the third club that would otherwise go up!

They shouldn't be paying Gaydamak a single penny tbh.

Top of the Head-to-Head. Wooo!

She might have banged her head on the bath while he was banging her though. I personally think this whole story is a load of rubbish and all charges will end up being dropped or he will get off on the self defence plea. So he's the new Lee Chapman then Better than the new Lee Stewart.
-
Fucking hell. Prior to his leg break, he was good enough to be a Kinkladze/Kanchelskis/Di Canio/Zola/Juninho style cult hero if his attitude turned out OK. Now he's got a broken leg he is a completely unproven player who many good (not top) clubs wont consider looking at until he proves his fitness and form.

I think we can remove the question mark now and replace it with an exclamation mark!

Man U don't have a say according to this: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/06/30/78/statusinhalt_en_122007.pdf They'll sell him in January. Only on Rooney's terms. If a club he wants to go to wants to wait for him on the cheap there would be nothing Man Utd could do. Man City don't exactly need to penny pinch do they? This is all based on the assumption that Rooney wants to go to Man City and not to one of those stellar foreign clubs.

Man U don't have a say according to this: http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/06/30/78/statusinhalt_en_122007.pdf I'd be amazed if a top class international player invoked the Webster ruling. There is nothing stopping him, and Paul Stretford is his agent. I didn't say there was. I'd still be amazed. Because you don't think footballer's are cunts or because you think Man Utd would challenge it?

Some good/bad news come the end of the season. Ben Arfa will be allowed to tell Marseille that he wants to buy out his contract and they won't be able to stop him. This would probably cost £4-6m.

So he's worth a third of Ronaldo, who also wanted out of Man Utd? FIFA rules state that he can leave for the cost of the wages remaining on his contract plus his last transfer fee minus depreciation. That will definitely be less than £10m. But he has to go abroad for that to happen.
-
Man U to sell him a penny less they paid for him? You might laugh or call me a Spurs fan but I was passed on some genuine "ITK" info today that came directly from Citeh. They will offer up to £70m this Jan. Not bad. More likely he will go to Real Madrid for £5m in the summer.

It is for real, this is how we signed Jonas. Rooney just has to declare his intention to leave within two weeks of the final PL game of the season, and can only be to a foreign club.

Who do you suggest? Not that I'm disagreeing btw. There are lots of people really many of whom are unknown to me, but I'd like to see a young lower league manager who has ambitions to make it at the top flight and has shown some signs of doing alright in the lower divisions. Lee Clar... oh wait. Conversely, Exeter City's manager Paul Tisdale has taken them from Conference Mid Table to 7th in League One in four years with a total spend (not net) of £20,000.

This may seem really radical but how about an assistant with a good track record who has no past affiliation with NUFC or Spurs?
-
Hughton first saw Tiote a couple of years ago apparently when he was sent by Keegan to watch him.
-
He's not the most talented player and does frustrating stuff, but over a season you can always rely on Shola.
-
what did you expect when we bought him ? Hadn't really seen him play, was pleased we signed him as was clearly the player Hughton and Calderwood wanted as they'd been tracking him for months and I trusted their judgement especially as Calderwood was his ex manager. I was in the wrong to do so. you get nowt for nowt in this world You realise that we paid a 7 figure fee for him?
