  1. Really dissappointed noone spotted my joke on Page 10.
  2. Hughton seemed to play a lot of players out of position. Maybe just trying to get a couple of players to work on a couple of aspects of their game before the season starts.
  3. Would you prefer the current NUFC squad or the 2008/2009 squad. Because signing these types ofindividuals will get us back there.
  4. Hope you're taking the piss. We've sorted out team spirit. we don't want a troublemaker stirring things up as it would cause the whole unit to fall apart.
  5. Don't want him. We have a good team now.
  6. Think we are blatantly getting Cleverley following Fergie's quotes. This signing will cancel out the negatives of signing Gosling.

    The Loan system

Without loans, clubs are just going to hold onto their academy players without playing them on the off chance that one will make it. By the time players are released they will have lost out on important years of development and therefore have a smaller chance of making it in the lower leagues. Therefore loans are good, maybe just need slightly more regulation to ensure they are benefitting the right people.

Do we ever learn? Based on other players coming back from a sort of injury that involves a missed preseason, and out until late Autumn, we wont see him playing well until April at the earliest unfortunately. He's a good player though, if he stays fit afterwards, he will be great for us in two seasons time if he hasn't decided to leave if we got relegated or something! He a talented twenty year old on a free transfer. I don't think one injury is any reason to pass this up. He's worth signing, but we need to get someone else as well as its no good if it is just him. Then again he's not worth signing if we dont get someone else because of wages.

Risky signing for the 2011/2012 season, but hey he's on a free. Now do we stick with Smith and Nolan this season, or do we get someone like Cleveley on loan for the season to stand in for Gosling who probably isn't going to be up to it this season.
  11. Lucky he can speak Spanish because the Four Amigos can teach him.

Completely lacking in form and match fitness. A player for 2011/12 if his confidence doesn't get shot to pieces by then.
  13. Personally I'm happy with Taylor, Coloccini, Williamson, Perch and Simpson to cover centre back. We've had worse defenders, but it is all about team ethic. In a good team, a below mediocre defence can shine, in a bad team, the likes of John Terry become complete horseshit.
  14. When we got relegated, it was not because of our results against the good attacking sides, but because we lost out to our relegation rivals and the midfield fodder at home. Therefore we need to make sure that the pitch reflects the strengths and weaknesses of the team so we can beat these teams. Our defence is actually our strength, so this could help make us a tighter unit and reduce space to exploit. Some people think our wingers are our strength but they aren't, Routledge is just an impact player at this level, and Jonas has no end product and rarely makes best use of width anyway, cutting inside more often than not, so a wide pitch won't benefit him. I reckon we'll only play one out and out winger in many games. Our limitations are lack of mobility in central midfield and up front. If we have a smaller pitch players are going to be able to cover a greater percentage of the pitch and use less energy. We don't have the players for an exciting attacking game, soit makes most sense to have a pitch that suits the players we have, and then have another look at the situation in the future.
  15. Jealous I wasn't there to witness it tbh.

Insane Bollocks Man? That must be the other one in the 'we', and his source. Have you ever played for Newcastle United youth team? Ed did so don't diss him.
  17. Dyer and Bellamy were the explosive influence that cleared up space for Robert, Solano, and Shearer to be at their most potent. People talk in cliched terms about teams being one dimensional, but we were genuinely 4 or 5 dimensional back then.

More leaders the better shows they want to stand up and be counted.

Not saying he isn't good enough, just we'd have to wait until 2011/2012 to actually get him in form. If we are patient. And if we are still in the top division.

Not a good move for Newcastle, Gosling or Everton. He's injured with a bad knee injury and even if he manages to come back as good as before, he'll struggle for form this season. Newcastle fans are an unforgiving bunch, and as soon as he's fit, he'll be expected to slot right into the team straight away, and when he doesn't he'll be written off as shite.
