any finns on board ?.......the media line is sickeningly put in this country that there are 5 british on board. as if it is more of a disaster because of it. Well, it is the British media reporting to the British people so you would expect that. Same in every country I would imagine. non the less sickening for it. echoes of the old spitting image skit any finns on board ?.......the media line is sickeningly put in this country that there are 5 british on board. as if it is more of a disaster because of it. Well, it is the British media reporting to the British people so you would expect that. Same in every country I would imagine. non the less sickening for it. echoes of the old spitting image skit Keeps getting reported here as 2 Americans on board. I get the fact that in a situation like this, nationality doesn't matter, each one of those people on board on the plane had human dignity and rights and deserve to be respected as a human. But I'm not really offended by that kind of reporting. It's an issue that Americans (or Britons, French, etc) will have to deal with, the respective state departments and national leaders will also likely have to deal with it, plus there are people that know or are related to those killed within the respective country. These two posts are about the plane crash, but if you think about it, there would be outrage if human trafficking was happenning to English people, why should we not be outraged at human trafficking on the other side of the world? We are all human beings after all.

No, it just shows that I've strong beliefs that every human should be free, and that I'm not morally bankrupt like some people.

Just to clarify, Oman, led by its Sultan who people appear to want to be involved is on the highest level on the Human trafficking scale with: Algeria Iran Oman Sudan Burma Kuwait Papua New Guinea Syria Cuba Korea, North Qatar Fiji Moldova Saudi Arabia

Try saying that to the poor Indian boy living in the slums in Mumbai, whose father sold all he had to travel to Oman for a well paid job. Whose father got to Oman and discovered that he wasn't getting paid. Whose father had his passport confiscated to stop him going home. Whose father was forced to carry out construction work in 54oC heat. Whose father killed himself thousands of miles from home.

I'd be opposed to any Omani owners. 80% of the labour force in that country is made up of foreign nationals, much of which is forced labour. I'll still support the club, players and the manager, but I couldn't support a board which made its money from the exploitation of human beings.

  8. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/blackburn_rovers/8078524.stm Sounds like the usual Allardyce shite.
  9. No offence Shaman, you used to post some interesting stuff, but all you seem to do these days is come on to patronise people.
  10. To be honest, I think Ashley blames Shepherd over a lot of the things that went wrong, so can imagine so if there is enough interest, I reckon Ashley would choose to deal with an alternative.

Much more so than Portsmouth where you have to pay £34m and sign a contract to agree to finance a £300m stadium that isn't going to get filled.

Could make us a hell of a lot more attractive. I'm inclined to think he'll take what he can get especially with wages running so high (money that has to be found every month) till they are shifted. Might not be so easy to shift either. Aye, the wages until Owen/Viduka/Cacapa/etc fuck off are just dead money now the season is over. The quicker he gets out the better for him. If you think about it (assuming Owen is on £105,000 a week as many papers and FM document) then from the final day on May 24th, Owen will make £525,000, over half a million, from simply going into training for a couple of days and then sunning it and watching racehorses, in 5 weeks. There will probably be some excessive loyalty bonus for him seeing out his contract too. He should be made to work by NUFC until his contract expires in my opinion.
  13. Apparently David Williamson and Gary Oliver are to go.
  14. Good, means he isn't gonna be wasting energy playing in a tournament he is too old for.

He's not sticking it on ebay you know It's not that easy to get rid of a football club Well it was easy enough to buy it. "Shearer threatening to walk, club in administration, its all going to go belly up if you don't give me £100m by Friday Freddy."

This is probably why he wants rid ASAP, get rid before Friday, and overdraft becomes someone elses problem without him needing to do stuff that will affect his other assets.

This. No players can leave/signed until 1st July, im sure some investors see potential in a cut price club who are under performing and (undervalued?) as on paper have alot of assets and plus points. Not true, the window opened at 6pm today. However, players and agents refuse to move until July because it means they miss out on their annual loyalty bonus. Ok I didn't know that. However that makes the point still valid, no players will move until then Yeah, I just wanted to make the point. Someone who wouldn't get a loyalty payment like Surnam could join us tomorrow if we wanted, but some of our players might be sticking around for some reason...

To be honest, if one of those foreign businessmen knew anything, they should realise that NUFC is probably the cheapest entry route into Premier League. Like buy Portsmouth for £50m and be committed to spending £300m on a new stadium, in addition to transfers, or buy NUFC for £100m, spend to get in the PL, and then the stadium is already there.
