Agree with that part of your analysis there.

To be fair, that was probably one of the least daft red cards I've ever seen.
-
Well we were poor, but there were always going to be games when we don't play so well, but we won so this game can be forgotten about. Away win at one of the promotion favourites tbh.

What happenned to GHoeberX?

Chillax guys, its just words on a computer screen [/nervous]

No league goal conceded for over 411 minutes.

We're not allowed to judge a player after one game, but we are allowed to hail a player who hasn't even played properly for us yet. To be honest, I reckon he might have been a better choice than Donaldson for the bench today given the other players we've got in the team/bench, but its not the end of the world that he isn't.
-
What do we introduce when we keep giving the ball away when we need someone to pass it around and take off the pressure? Ah yes, a kid who's never played a league game before And who isn't even on the bench.

I saw Southend play once back in the Robson days. Cort in defence, Bramble up front. Was loltastic.

A medical is all about the insurance. All there to determine whether a player is 'at risk.' It was like RvN, failed a medical at Man United, went home to get fit and prove his fitness then did the injury the medical showed him as at risk for, missing the season. so basically, in a couple of weeks chances are Cathcart will no longer be at risk and pass the medical so he can get the insurance.

Yes. It's just an opt out for all parties if for some reason it isn't a success. Advantages for us and Manyoo.

Hardly his fault his hip died on him.

tbf, I think Harris is just giving himself a wide safety net. Now today has passed, there is no real urgency to get us sold before then so all the finer terms of the deal can now be dragged on.
-
he says that he's feeling physically great and is the quickest at the club, but he hasn't had enough practice with the ball over the summer. Team mates have been texting him begging him to come back, and he has enjoyed living in the area.
-
Spot on! He looked absolute rock solid against Leicester. In fact i'd go so far as to say it was one of the best left back performances i've seen from a Newcastle player. I thought that was his worst game of the season (not that he was bad like).
-
Injuries if anything will be worse, due to the physicality of the league and the fact there is more games. I'm not convinced, I haven't really noticed there being much more aggression thus far. More injuries for us always seem to be muscular things caused by running, and I can perhaps see these starting to go away this year if they aren't having to run their legs off for 90 minutes just trying to keep hold of a 0-0 draw.
-
Will injuries be as bad in the Chamionship? Yes we had a bunch of permacrocks in the Premier League, but would the intensity of the Premier League be partly to blame? Would we see less injuries in the team now that we can control the tempo in our favour?
-
I would play: Krul (yes I know blah blah) Simpson Taylor Colo Enrique Guthrie Smith Barton Nolan Lovenkrands Shola
-
At least our defence has "touch wood" a really good injury record. Four clean sheets in 5 and many more to come so we can build on that, we now have four strikers, at least two of whom are top level, and we have too many top level central midfielders to know what to do with.

September, October, November... almost fills us till January. May as well wait a month given the international break and the fact that our squad is fairly OK depth wise. You have to prove it's an emergency loan. You can't just go "It's an emergency" and they'll turn around and go "Oh ok, go ahead" We will hopefully have new ownership by then, and be able to cite Mike Ashley as the emergency.

Sky have probably known for hours that he's signed and just held it back as a tease. NUFC just wont have bothered announcing it as it seems to be policy to announce it all in one go after the window closes. So they probably don't have a clue about anything else quite frankly.
