    RIP sale thread.

And it is ESPN UK and not ESPN USA
  2. excuse me? I think that is what you call a pre-ban. It is like a pre-date only it is a ban.
  3. US fans, you seem to be missing the point. This news story affects UK only, you aren't going to see any more or any less PL games in the USA.
  4. Time (for us) to be taken over by Americans. It doesn't matter, they only won premiership games.. Next season though, give it a year to really break American interest, we'd be perfectly placed. Not sure how it works in the US, but surely this will only extend coverage over there? It won't, the PL sell packages to individual countries, and ESPN already have their own broadcasting rights to the USA in place.
  5. I was in Utrecht a couple of weeks ago. Very nice place for an away trip.
  6. This Hull move is quite smart, look ambitious by making a half-arsed effort to sign a player they'd never afford, then sell that ambition to players so that they sign for Hull instead of Wolves.

So it is cheaper to keep Colo and Smith for a year either playing for us, or out on loan? Make them stay until they request a transfer.
  8. It'll be Portsmouth. The guy who "bought" them is merely an agent working as a front for larger groups, see Man City.
  9. There are a few interesting claims if you read between the lines that seem pretty fair to be honest: He was pissed about KK leaving and probably would have stayed. He blames his poor form on the club's medical staff. and he thinks we should have signed a creative midfielder.

We're a yoyo club now then eh? I don't believe a thing that this bunch of c***s print BTW unless I know it too be true from elsewhere. The biggest offenders are: Owen, Viduka, Martins, Duff, Barton, Geremi, Smith, Butt All but one was signed under Shepherd. We were at around £70m a year in wages before Shepherd left and he's the one responsible for getting us there, nobody else. Ashley's an arsehole who should get the blame for some absolutely moronic decisions but he can't get the blame for our idiotic wage structure. Weren't these all Ashley buys? And Ashley had 2 years to sort out the wage structure or have you forgotten? Barton could of been fired. Smith could of been sold last summer. Owen could of been sold anytime. Viduka, Geremi, Butt not so much but could be a surprising taker. Every team has their deadwood too as well tbh recently read that Everton has just got rid of van der Meyde, completely forgot about him sure he was on a fairly good wage. Viduka and Barton were definitely just before Ashley came in, possibly Geremi too.

What a complete idiot the NUFC Blog is. YOU CAN'T OWN TWO FOOTBALL CLUBS.
  12. Northern Echo suggests Edgar is on the verge of signing for Birmingham. Seems a bit silly to let him go, unless he is rejecting a reasonable contract offer.
  13. The bottom line of all .com fixtures: So yeah, they've got it.
  14. Goodness sake, there is always one
  15. You are wrong. You can't just buy a team to get promoted and then buy a whole new team to stay up because the current lot aren't good enough. You have to assess players on whether they have a long term future in the top division. We have a group of players who are clearly not good enough for the top flight, correct? In that case, most of them, must leave for players who are good enough to get us back into the top flight i.e the best the championship has to offer. If there are players of premiership quality who want to play us then fine, but i suspect there are not many. There's nothing wrong with speculating as to which of our squad could cut it in the premierleague but i'm saying that it's a more worthwhile topic when we are promoted. So you would prefer us to be like West Brom of last season and not the West Ham, Manchester City or NUFC teams that last got promoted? Forgive me if I find that impossible to understand. None of them sides consisted of good premiership players, some of them simply had good first seasons in the premier league and invested heavily. West Ham for example nearly got relegated the season after, with the same players. Who ever mentioned being like West Brom? They never invested, when the got promoted. I'm saying that we should invest in premiership players when/if we get promoted in order to stay in the league. Not spending money we don't have, on premiership players who won't come to us. How many Chamionship clubs do you see signing "a pile" of premiership players? Players do improve you know? The clearly obvious point that you are missing is that some players may not be ready for the PL yet, but with a good run and experience, they could be excellent in two seasons time. Take Glen Johnson or Gareth Barry as an example of how a player can develop. PS West Ham stayed up, so you kinda shot yourself in the foot with that one.

  18. Is it possible to write the fixtures down in invisible ink, and take a photo of it and post it on here?

Also I'd imagine Ashley is going to try and play the groups off each other to get the best deal.

Guilty as charged Fact is though that the current Exeter board have researched their managerial appointments extremely well and came up with two absolute gems. Fuk him, i want the Exeter board. It's a Supporters Trust without a penny between them, and a chairman called Denise. Are you sure? Ashley or a bird called Denise...no brainer... Before the current lot, the old board included Michael Jackson, no wonder they got relegated. Investing too heavily in youth? Nah, he just ended up getting associated with the wrong people, in this case people now in jail for fraud for what they did at Exeter.
