  1. I think its something you won't see mentioned as although likelihood decreases over time, there are still potential complications particularly while he remains in hospital unfortunately.
  2. Geremi, but Butt over Smith everytime. At least with Butt you know you might get one decent game every now and then.
  3. djmattis, how many times do we have to tell people that requesting PMs is against the rules?

From the sounds of things we were playing with older kids so should have been expected to win both, but only won one.

    Top bloke !

Clever thinking ! Surely if you were looking for an England No. 2 you would want someone who's used to playing every week, not someone who is a specialist at sitting on the bench?! His point was that someone that's playing every week isn't used to being called on at the last minute, and so doesn't perform. Harper would be used to that and would be more able to play at his best on short notice. But they're used to playing, so they'll be able to play! Peter Bonetti. Ian Walker. Nigel Martyn. A sub keeper needs to be warm and sharp and ready and waiting when called upon. There has in the past been huge problems with typically first choice keepers finding that they are on the bench, and not properly approaching the game pre-match or during match, and therefore aren't at their best when called upon.
  6. Wasn't Arestidou on loan here earlier this season?
  7. It's probably James Taylor aka Jaylor would that make steven, saylor! Yep, Saylor, Raylor, and Jaylor, where have you been the last few weeks

Just something about Harper and England which is worth considering: How many England No.2s have been called upon at the last minute only to have a howler. I put this down to the typical sub keeper for England being so used to being No. 1 that they haven't developed that mentality to be ready as back-up. Steve Harper has that mentality to perfection and could make him more useful to have around the place than other keepers.
  11. It's probably James Taylor aka Jaylor
  12. Dave, I can't believe you have decided to nick one of my few jokes. The shame
  13. The choices as far as I'm aware are: http://www.toontastic.net/board/ http://www.nufc-forum.com/nufcforum/index.php http://newcastleunited.rivals.net/forum/pgeThreads.aspx?boardId=103&clubId=55 http://www.thefootballnetwork.net/boards/list/s70.htm Toontastic is becoming a good contender after being pretty poor in the early years, but apart from that.
  14. I just remember a lot of that shit smiley.
  15. oh goodness, not the old Tynetalk (or was it ToonChat?) board war rearing its ugly head!
  16. One ex-poster was clearly a friend of an NUFC player, so it certainly has happenned.
  17. Like I think the period after surgery is the greater risk than on the table. or at leas that's what I've learnt from Holby City. Joe should be in our thoughts just as much right now.
  18. LOL I'm being serious, Jonas plays from too deep to effectively link up with Lovenkrands, and has little end product to compensate. You're talking like we have options. And you honestly think we should play Martins from the Bench? Lovenkrands subject to maintaining West Brom form is an upgrade on Martins imho. You're almost always completely wrong. Sorry, but saying Lovenkrands is better than Martins because he scored a rebounded goal against West Brom is a bit daft to be honest. Same with the Jonas comment, he's going to be crucial to us staying up based on the mayhem and forward movement he causes alone. I'd say he was better for the current NUFC team even if he hadn't scored. Different players are good for differen types of teams, and I think Lovenkrands is raising the game of the five midfielders/attackers surrounding him, making him better for the team we've got. Martins is a complete individual, and Jonas is more suited to a different type of team. I'd love to spend time explaining myself, but I'm getting ready to go out. Someone PM me in 24 hrs if I haven't produced an uber-post on this.

  21. Despite being one of the best in terms of quality Jonas isn't the right player for NUFC at the moment, and should play from the bench. Same goes for Martins. Attack should be built around Lovenkrands.
  22. You don't need to go private, the NHS do a brilliant job with this sort of thing. They do indeed. A friend of mine had a successful heart bypass about ten years ago, and an Aunt more recently too and I know numerous friends and family who are NHS employees. But there are procedures and techniques out there that are known to significantly reduce recovery time for these types of surgery that the NHS simply can't afford due to the greed of healthcare pioneers. I'm sure Mike Ashley would have paid for the full hog in this instance.
  23. Sounds like bollocks, normal recovery time for a triple heart bypass is usually mentioned as 3 months as an absolute minimum, 6 months normally and sometimes up to a full year. If he's back in charge of the team after 8 weeks he'll be back in hospital 2 weeks later. I think people are forgetting the wonders of private medicine.
