Jonas to Spurs? Now that would be terrible

Not even I think that.

Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

Xisco speaks english though. Like a load of people have already said, it's got to be personal. You sure? I've never seen him speak. -

One more thing, Kinnear spends four days every week coaching defence, so just when exactly is Xisco meant to impress? -

I think Kinnear made it pretty clear when he came that non-English speakers were out of the team as he couldn't tell them what to do? NUFC were probably fortunate at that time that there was no proper alternative to Coloccini. -
Given that this section is supposed to be an objective report of ex-players playing days (and they often have a right bunch of non-entitities), this is extremely petty.

Terrible.

I just think that Bilic has the personality for Premier League management. There is just something about him, some sort of aura.
-
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7808452.stm Bilic is quitting as Croatia manager, and has chosen a very odd time to do so: next November. So does that mean he's open to working "part time" somewhere else? We should push the boat out tbh, he'd be a great coup.

And how many times do you get told you make yourself look like a fool? Ah ha, no route to go in other than resorting to personal insults I see. Not going to bother rising to that, have much better things to do in my life.

That's a bit rich coming from you, you're the one who is wrong and it's not for the first time. I suggest you read before you type. I'm not in the wrong as the bite came as anticipated. Given that I only get in personal arguments with you, it says more about you tbh.
-
That wasn't intended to be aimed at him so stop acting like an idiot, I said "quite a few people." If it genuinely wasn't intended, then think before you type.
-
Stop what? Bear-baiting NE5. Starts the whole boring cycle off all over again. I'd have said the same if it was the other way around btw.
-
Like quite a few people on here who read what they wanted to read. Stop.

Cheapos can reinforce the squad, but they can rarely replace the club's crown jewels, particularly Dyer (when fit), Owen and Given.
-
So since Ashley and co. came here, we've had five senior players declare their intention to leave: Dyer - family reasons, really an issue after years in Newcastle? Solano - family reasons, really an issue as he went of to Greece in less than 12 months? Milner - just when it seemed Milner wanted to stay and KK was happy to keep him, Milner wants off to Villa Owen - the club has tried to pre-empt Owen everytime, putting the pressure on the player over his departure Given - we don't know the full story yet, but can't hide from the fact that we've been looking at long term replacements Lets not forget the outward appearance that we tried to palm off Smith and Barton, and Barton used a very unusual method to announce his intention to stay. It is my opinion that it can be perceived that the board might have tried to engineer player departures to cash in and replace with cheapos. Whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but it is how it looks from the outside.

Thing is, whatever you think of Given, he loves the club, and if he feels the need to speak out, he's letting the fans know that there is something wrong. The current board has a reputation for getting its defence in before the event, ie Milner, or Owen's contract, so by doing it this way, he's making it clear who he thinks are in the wrong on all this. Throwing an official transfer request sends out that exact same message. As I've said - if he's unhappy at the club, hoy a request to leave in. Don't be snidey about it and link yourself to other clubs in public. Don't blame him for going but do it properly. Think he'd want to stay though if things would sort themselves out. With a silent transfer request, the club can just imply, a la Milner, that he's been tapped up and that nothing can be done if a player wants out. Given has gone for the kicking and screaming variety that will put pressure on the board rather than on the player.

Well the guy we've probably got lined up plays in a league with minimal crossing, and he's got the handling of a fish. Why do you think we are after this Argie? Because in the summer his club signed a replacement, saying that he was off to Newcastle.
-
We've got somebody who comes out for crosses and screams at the defence. Steven Taylor?

It is my personal opinion that the recruitment team want, and have always wanted Mariano Andujar at number one, with the money for Given funding some other player. Sell Andujar on when his reputation goes up, making a tidy profit and then promote Krul/Forster/Soderberg/Johnson/Alnwick, before selling him on for the next prospect/cheap Argie. Repeat ad infinitum.

Nice one, change the argument because you're struggling again.

NE5, Mick etc. We do not care. Care we do not. Not care we do.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mariano_Gonzalo_And%C3%BAjar This guy was supposed to be joining us in the summer. I wonder...
