People saying we need to replace him, i ask you how do you replace a player who doesn't even have a real position? He doesn't have a real position because he's not particularly effective in any position he plays, not because he's so good in all them positions that we can't decide his best position.

Which keeper would come to Newcastle knowing they are gonna be 2nd choice to Given, taking into account Given's brilliant fitness record over the years he's been here? If we are after a keeper who would challenge Given then it is gonna have to be an excellent keeper and i can't see us getting one of them as 2nd choice.
-
If he wants to go then we should let him go. If he's happy enough then keep him. He's a solid keeper imo. Nothing special though. Krul needs to go out on loan. It will not do him much good sitting on our bench when he could be away playing every week. This season has been a freak season in regards to injuries to keepers. The chances are Given will play in 99% of our matches next season.

Obviously he had to go but i've got a lot of respect for him and wish him well.

A new manager means a fresh start for everyone? So thats means the whole squads got a clean slate and we keep the lot? Allardyce will know who is not up to it, and hopefully he realizes Dyer is one of them players.

Couldn't give a shit what Kevin Bond thinks.

Make your mind up! FFS

They wouldn't dare! Its a PFA entitlement I believe. You get one after ten full seasons, although you can get it negotiated to an earlier date with contracts etc. Surely not? Can anyone clarify this? I didn't think it was a PFA entitlement, i thought it was more of a gesture for 10 years service. I think there would be hell on if he was given a testimonial

If we don't sell him now we will never be able to sell him. I single him out and say he's crap because he's been crap for most of his time here. He's been here for 8 seasons. Most of the team wasn't crap just because of Roeder. Half of the team is crap, thats one of the reasons most of the team was crap. Roeder of course was a reason as well, but don't take the blame of the players. Dyer has been one of the most expensive failures we've had at the club and thats not being harsh either. The amount of games he's missed and the amount of games he hasn't performed with the wages has is on is a disgrace.
-
If we don't sell him this summer then we will lose him on a free in 2 years because nobody will pay a penny for him next summer. Do people really want a player who should be at his peak now but is never gonna get any better and who's pace is only going to decline to stay for another 2 years on about £80,000 a week? Give up man, he's finished here.
-
How many times are we gonna have to put up with all the "this will be Dyer's best season ever", "the new manager will get the best out of him", "he's over the injuries he just needs a run of games". He's 30 next year FFS.

f*** me Heradarsson is the worst defender i've ever seen, and i've watched Ramage Blackburn - Charlton a week or so ago, at fault for 4 out of 4 goals
-
Aye actually keep Dyer. He has the potential to be a world class player. Try and get the best out of him next season then see if Man United come in with £20m. Double figures for him next season tbh.
-
I would love to think so like. I think there would be a few takers for him but i don't think the little cunt would want to take a pay cut cos he'd never get the wages he is on here at any other club.
-
Bents a good player but we can't afford to spend a load of money on another striker when we have other prioritys. Only move for him if we lose Owen or Martins.
-
There has been absolutely no entertainment value in our teams for years. The reason our current crop of players might not be able to play the way Allardyce wants them to is because they aren't good enough anyway. Get them out.
-
He's supposed to have went behind Centurys back and discussed taking the legends to another station i think. On a related note where the fuck does Malcolm get this shit about Allardyce coming up here for talks before and walking out of the interview room before his interview?

100% behind it

Luque can fuck off.

Tevez is fucking brilliant like.

Wonder why Beardsley never got a look in for the one match. He's no shouter but i'm sure he will know what he's doing and could get more out of the players than Terry McDermott thats for sure. -
It wasn't because of Allardyce that he was leaving though was it? I think he'd jump at the chance to come here if we get big Sam. I doubt any of the top four will go for him now. Chelsea wanted him but that was only because Terry was injured and they were desperate for a defender. If Chelsea sign a centre half in the summer it will probably be another big money signing.
