In what way has the name actually changed? Will the signage in the stadium and around town change to reflect the new name? How does the chairman intend to enforce the name change in newspapers, TV and radio given that it's TOO FUCKING LONG? Really, I've never heard anything like it. It's just the most half-baked idea. How can you change the name of a stadium half-way through a season? You just click your fingers and everyone starts calling it by this stupid new name? Ludicrous. Ultimately, a name is just a label people give something and no one will use this new name: so what meaning does it have? Must be more than meets the eye, here.

My mate did this once in a club. Not the groping bit, but he got in a right tizz with a barman and shouted, "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" but, in fact, he's a total nobody so it didn't even make sense.

Yes, because that would have helped us enormously. Can't say I'd notice the difference, tbh. Has never felt like a NUFC player to me. Occasionally fills a shirt. That's about it.

Tbf, it's a shit idea, but whenever I've heard him on the radio I've been quite impressed, and surprised. Speaks very well about the game and has a very good eye for what's happening on the pitch that others miss. Think he would make a decent coach, tbh.

Like most, I'm opposed to any 'rebranding' of SJP. However, it's clear that we need the money and Ashley is not dip into his own pocket. So, how can we get more money into the club for running costs and (if we're lucky) new signings?

Yeah, I was going to mention that as well but I'm still not over the Quebec Nordiques moving to America. Also, it seems like Major League Soccer is going to allow the Vancouver Whitecaps to join their league from another league in the 2012 expansion, but I'm not sure on the details. There's no issues what that in regards to CONCAF or whatever?
