Thats the first thing that jumped out at me as well. What gives the richest clubs in Europe a right to demand money from an INTERNATIONAL tournament? They are club sides with no rights in this area of the game other than the compensation issues for injured club players. Totally wrong. possibly because its their employees that are running the risk of getting injured playing for their country. for examples of this see Englands Michael Owen. gets injured playuing for England, out for a year, yet Newcastle pay his wages. hardly fair is it?? Newcastle were compensated though. It's fair enough to demand compensation for an injured player but that's different to wanting proceeds from the tournament which is, as people have said, just pure greed. It might be different if it was getting ploughed into grassroots football / football development but the clubs in question are already the richest. Also, what about clubs whose players play in the Euros but aren't in the G14? Their money goes to Man Utd. Obviously.
