  1. Shelvey wouldn't get into a top 6 team. He's so far apart from "the right players around him" that it'd never happen. Stick him in the Man City team and he'd be massively exposed, but he's just not at that quality. I can't work out why people keep claiming it. You don't get "top 6 players" wandering around the pitch like Shelvey does. That's not because he's got Longstaff of Hayden next to him, it's because his mentality is shite. I think with Shelvey it's not a question of his technical ability but more so his mentality. Seems to give up too easily if he's not up for it. Definitely. We have a great core of players that will look completely different with a next level set of players around them. I think we all know the result of whether Shelvey will excel or not, not least if Rafa comes back. Maybe he will surprise us. Interested to see what happens to the loanees. Willems, Rose, Bentaleb and Lazaro. Willems is the only one I want back for sure. Not that we couldn't potentially upgrade on them all if the ownership goes through.
  2. The PL will likely draw it out a little longer to make it look like they are "investigating" going to be an agonizing week or two wait.
  3. Good stuff. Hopefully once one major league has done it, the rest will follow.... The rest will watch and see how it goes for sure.
  4. Apologies for the source. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/ian-wright-explains-punched-steve-21911870 Ian Wright continues to win my admiration in his older age!
  5. Cried my eyes out that night because we lost and could not get to a semifinal. Plus Ginola my fav player was sent off. Hated Dixon and whoever the ref was for a long time after that too. Hold completely unreasonable and petty hatred of Dixon to this day because of that game. Complete injustice. Was absolutely livid all game watching. Man the hatred still flows lol
  6. As said its classic "We tried" and save face PR for the Premier League. IMO.
  7. Well that and the fact the premier league have no interest in blocking it. They want it to go through £$€ This a simple classic "we tried", cover their arses statement.
  8. How many Man City fans have been alienated by their owners? I am sure many are uncomfortable as we all are. When the results and excitement starts flooding back I think many will struggle not to get swept along with the ride.
  9. All this negativity just paves the way for damage control and Mike Ashley to slip out into the night. Obviously he is getting zero flack right now for selling to the saudis, despite all the quotes about only selling to the buyers with best interest in the club yada yada.
  10. This It will happen. People will age 10 years and go through every cycle of emotions if they stick around until its confirmed. We are all gluttons for punishment though and at this stage get our kicks out of the emotional roller coaster whether we like it or not or care to admit it! Now back to hitting refresh...
  11. The Premier League isn't going to be doing a full police investigation into anything. They will simply be checking if they have been convicted of any wrong doing. If they haven't been convicted for anything then they don't have grounds to deny the buyers.
  12. Not surprised. Username is a thinly veiled disguise for penfold. Given the bashing we have him today I am not surprised he is bitter. All the best in your future endeavors though lee.
  13. As if Amazon, SKY or a billion others wouldn't jump in before they could finish saying "We are out". Complete empty threats. Yeah, Sky are that well known middle east broadcaster.... More fool you.. I didn't even realize it was about Bein in the middle East, thought it was just talking about Bein tv's rights deals in general, so I am twice the idiot you thought. Point still stands though. If Bein pulled out 10 more companies would gladly jump in to snap up the rights.
  14. As the financial times video today says, the premier league saying and making a statement that the Saudis are not proper owners of a football club would be a diplomatic and political incident they won't want any part of.
  15. As if Amazon, SKY or a billion others wouldn't jump in before they could finish saying "We are out". Complete empty threats.
  16. Unless he has a clause in his contract of course..... That’s true, but if he walks away from what appears to be a project both sides are heavily invested in then I’d be surprised, given the type of guy he seems to be. It's not a project over there it is a time filler that paid very well until a new (or old ) project came along. Everyone said he would never go somewhere like China as he had too much integrity and morals... until he did. The rumoured and reported 20m release clause might be more of a problem, although its likely less than that now then when Arsenal and West Ham were linked with him before Christmas.
  17. Good watch but better because it immediately lined up - Stunning Newcastle United Goals | Shearer, Cisse, Shelvey | Squad Goals - on the playlist next. Gets me so excited to potentially feel like I did at the time of some of those goals.
  18. He is like the Girl that always picks the bad boy that treats her like shit. He will unwittingly find a similar position somewhere else.
  19. Exactly this. He has everything we would want and would give us the attacking attractive football we want. I just fear he doesn't have the xfactor when it counts and would end up being a transitional manger. Would be a fun ride though. I wholeheartedly agree with wise sage Thumbheed I want someone that isn't going to just be transitional or in it until Real/Barca or National Teams come calling. With Rafa you know our success and the clubs legacy is his end goal.
  20. Bruce wondering where the hell everyone is. Don't worry Steve. Your time is coming.
