Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester
toontownman replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
Bout fucking time they confirmed it. Please stay fit and score goals. He will be an absolute hero here if he hits form. -
Can we have Cariney then?
-
Cannot understand why he was on penalty duty. Absurd. You just need to look at him to see how mentally fragile he is. So low on confidence.
-
Solid 7. Simply impossible to win at home, predominantly shit away. I am worried. Lot of hope pinned on Slimani and a keeper hopefully better than what we have improving two god awful fullbacks.
-
No fucking come back for him here imo. Main point is he is doing his best. Its just fucking woefully short of what is needed.
-
Chances of signing anyone that wont shit the bed on the pitch? Saw Torres odd's had tumbled drastically for him coming here. pretty funny considering Rennes snubbed him because his wages were too high, nae chance we would bring him here.

this is fucking atrocious. -
Plane broken down or Mitro himself? Thrown a bellamy at the airport?

Bizzaro. Forgot we even signed him! https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/juanito-joins-deportivo-la-coruna-on-loan

Aye rightly so. We've got some of our prime targets in and they need supporting. Not sure what a protest is meant to achieve at this time - it's not like everyone isn't aware of the circumstances with fans/manager/owner at NUFC. Well documented. Lets sweep the last 11 years under the rug, because generous Mike has lent Rafa his helicopter to get a couple of loan deals Woah, he had to return it with the tank filled up.

Offical announcement: https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/latest-news/crewe-loan-switch-for-sterry Good move. Don't think he will be back other than to get his stuff and move on somewhere else in the summer.

Islam Slimani - Returned to Leicester
toontownman replied to Figures 1-0 Football's topic in Football
He is a powerhouse. Works hard, physical, good eye for goal. In the right team and set up he will thrive. Hoping he is fit, if he is I am delighted with this. Caught my eye in 2013 at the ACON even though Algeria didn't get good results. Was also great at the world cup after when Algeria surprised a lot. Definitely a target man that can cope being up top by himself. -
Is this actually happening? Please kindly f*** off Jack. Got James Brown Get up offa that thing chorus in my head f*** off outta our club and things will only get better. Can apply Ad nauseam to Ashley, Charnley and a few others.

If Llorente comes in then it would probably mean someone else leaving. Might be where all the Merino transfer talk was coming from. Why? we only have 4 natural central midfielders at the club and Merino has been battling fitness. We need another central midfield option. A defensive midfielder though? Would prefer a decent AM but I guess that can free Shelvey and Merino to be more attacking if they need. Diame is a lottery.
-
Well we haven't completed Slimani or Dubravka yet. We will likely be working on them until after the game before an announcement. Don't know we will have time to hear those infamous words.
-
We only have 3 on loan unless I am missing something and also is it not 5 loans maxium?? 3 this window plus didn't merino count? Merino isn't a current loan so no, wouldn't count. Total of four per season according to the premier league site though? Happy to be wrong though, even if getting a third person today is a moot point.

I am congratulating nothing until its finished. Don't trust our luck. The idea of Slimani with Perez behind might work nicely. Still a failure this window. Choice of four central midfielders, if fit, is pretty scary. Especially when Mo Diame is one of them. We really need an attacking central midfielder and if we are going to three at the back another CB wouldn't have hurt either. All that said to even have anyone in today would be the best window in years. -
Why would you choose the option where you don't get the bonus? You'd obviously choose the better deal. I'd argue (through sour grapes) you would let the club you agreed to join know about the better offer to see if they will match it before accepting the better offer and fucking off to the other club. Albeit that is assuming all that has been reported is true. Obviously indeed you would pick the extra bonus especially if the playing field and standard was even between the two clubs.

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/newcastle-united-transfer-news-rafa-benitez-striker-targets-mike-ashley-latest-a8185916.html I am of no doubt we could/should have offered more. However, to be fair to this. Sturridge reportedly already said yes to our offer and was happy with what we offered. We wouldn't have known west Brom then offered him more money as the deal was done in our eyes after he agreed it. Doesn't look like we were given a chance to match it as we were expecting him to turn up for a medical when it was announced he was heading to west Brom instead. Happy putting more hate on the scum that run the club but don't think the hate is as merited here.

Proud of the lad heading abroad. Great experience and hopefully just a loan with no buy option. Still think he is exceptionally talented, just needs games.
