  1. Allegri's style on the pitch seems a lot like Rafa's although he is a bit more flexible with changing systems depending on opposition. He is results first and has had his critics for being too defensive. Off the pitch he is reportedly well liked by players and different to Rafa in a man management approach. He obviously won juve fans over with trophies but had his struggles with his playing style. I think the attraction is obviously his success and recent success in comparison to Rafa, coupled with his availability. He has been learning English in anticipation for a potential premier league opening. Manure and Arsenal were mooted destinations as where PSG where he has a good relationship with Leonardo the sporting director. It has been reported since before December and as recently as the end of March he would replace a sacked Tuchel at the end of the season. I think the most important thing with our next manager beyond skillset is his character. We need a Keegan, a klopp a charismatic leader. Dour or reserved might work but wouldnt capitalize on the potential time to unite and mobilize our fanbase like never before, at least since King Kev. I am not sure Allegri fits that mould.
  2. I do think its possible we hear rumblings about the owners test but after caulkins tweets at the start of the weekend it will take a couple of days to transfer money. So announcement by the end of the week I reckon.
  3. Exactly. Now kindly all fuck off to the positivity thread. No place for that in here.
  4. Luciano Spalletti the latest to be linked, spuriously. https://sportslens.com/report-luciano-spalletti-linked-with-newcastle-united-and-he-could-bring-radja-nainggolan-with-him-to-sjp/294896/ The DOF/Chief Executive rumours have links to both Allegri and Rafa, which is interesting and more than a coincidence. I think they are both front runners to take over. I don't think the Poch rumours are anything other than pundits and press speculating. Will feel stupid and sick looking back at this when Bruce is still here in September. Spalletti is random though.
  5. She is a wrestling fan too Foreshadowing Sting as an ambassador tbh.
  6. Wow what Rafa can achieve in 10 months? It is almost as though he had nothing to do with it and all this was in motion before he was appointed. Not that he wouldn't want something similar for us of course.
  7. You expecting any crowds at these games? Doubt there will be fans at games until near the end of the year if at all in 2020.
  8. Not just a Spaniard. He is THE Spaniard.
  9. Not sure its a case of questioning anything. It is definitely happening and not an Ashley hoax and there will be a result one way or another. There are too many legitimate reasons it could be done tomorrow, already or still take another week. Just because it takes longer doesn't automatically mean the news is negative at the end either. Everything is conjecture at this point and there will always be half glass full to every half glass empty story. For instance, it likely the PL string it out to "show" they took everything into consideration and thoroughly investigated everything. Nothing to say it is not sat in the done pile but they are holding off because of the furore over the past week. On the other side maybe they want to rush it through before more negative press comes through lol. I'd suggest doing what you can to take your mind off it, buy FM Manager, take up knitting. Obviously I don't take my own advice and will be hitting refresh every two minutes and continue working myself up into a stupor.
  10. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/alan-pardew-urged-pay-back-21925994 To add to the post above. The King earned that fair and square.
  11. Keegan and Rafa back at the club... Hughton back in the set up for the win.
  12. Had to double check the date on the article given the headline. This type of stuff is a no brainer for whomever takes over from Ashley in the end.
  13. Just going back to this , does this suggest that even when the prem checks are done and say we passed would we still not head till money is transferred, as he is saying there another few days ? Yes. Deposit is paid. The prospective buyers wont pay the rest until the PL give the all clear. Normal business. Assuming 300m isn't a simple e-transfer which is why it takes a couple of days. Plus likely other procedural stuff with the hand over and confirmation.
  14. https://sportslens.com/report-pablo-longoria-has-emerged-as-favourite-to-become-newcastle-uniteds-sporting-director/294821/ Eva Longoria linked for DOF.
  15. exactly and if that happens it just means someone else is waiting in the wings. Nothing to be that negative about. Likely bollocks anyway.
  16. Love Willems. Definitely have him over rose. Not that I would complain if we keep rose too.
  17. Go on your profile then you can do it yourself under the 'actions' tab. That is the problem. It's all words and no action here.
  18. Heard Ashley will donate the 17m to ensure essential services like sports direct can still serve the public.
