  1. Does he have that tweet on timer from last window?
  2. Second bid rejected? Guessing we upped it to 12m plus colback. They said they want 25 to make colback work.
  3. As fun as it is to rehash things Ashley or the club have said in the past it's the most pointless thing ever really. Like pushing water up a hill. But what if your house is on top of the hill.
  4. Random and pretty underwhelming but that matters none if he can hit the ground running and justify his cost.
  5. Seeing as the club started it.. http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/5b/5b3d218b193f472f9717bf9030caf5dffad68f0ffb61c4ae4e0232f598f701c6.jpg Charnley and Ashley will sell who they want.
  6. We know how it goes. We will be pressing on, then frustrated, making progress. Then told the other team is wanting to bring a replacement in before selling. Then moving on to other targets, fake sensational last minute bids, go back in for previous player with more derisory bids then the window shuts with deafening silence from the club for the last 12 hours. Next day late on messages of how we tried hard, manager seething, board frustrated they couldn't get targets. Markets is bad and too expensive which makes things hard yada yada. Then a week or two later identifying then monitoring targets for the summer, scouting games for unknown players that never come to light or fruition. Drawing up two lists for stay up or go down. Both lists will then be on hold while contract talks with the manager hang over the clubs head, back to square one as window approaches.
  7. What are you talking about, Vince is buying us. It's all good. On a side note can't believe they used Mr. Kennedy's theme. Classic. For the same price of the rights to the music they probably could have hired the man himself to announce the signing as he walks out at SJP.
  8. Makes sense with our central midfield pool being thin too. Pushing the likes of Ritchie, Atsu and Murphy more into the middle to play with Hayden, Diame, Merino whoever is left.
  9. I agree with who Disco agrees with. Who I think also agrees with him. Argument is less about how good any of our 4 central midfielders are, more about the fact we already need to add to the pool of four and that doesn't look like happening. Realistically we would all bin Shelvey, Diame and possibly Hayden if we knew we would get better players in to replace them.
  10. You are right, whether we can and do is more of an issue. We really need two new players in the middle if Shelvey leaves.
  11. it's not that scary tbh. Sphincter of pure steel. Merino has been half fit, Diame has been half a footballer and while Hayden does a solid job couldn't create a commotion with a flamethrower in a firework factory. Less about the worry of losing Shelvey more about actually replacing him. three options for CM is not enough for any team.
  12. If we let Shelvey leave we have three options for central mid. Saivet is off and Colback is never playing for us again. If anything we need another two in. The choice of Hayden, Diame and Merino for the rest of the season, if all fit, is scary as shit.
  13. Not going to turn my nose up but seems an odd one given his age.
  14. Brought Matt Hardy with him?
  15. Has he found his way out of Newcastle yet or still in the planning stage? I just imagine him lost somewhere in Newcastle in a taxi, driving in circles and going full Travis Bickle.
  16. Not hugely excited by this, like Atsu I don't think we will see an awful lot of him to start. He has played in 5 games this season, might well take time to get him up to speed. Hope I am horribly wrong though and he hits the ground running and tears it up for us. Surely Aarons out on loan now too. Shame Benitez doesn't seem to rate him. He needs some games regularly to grow.
  17. What are the chances we are the actual hold up with the Kennedy deal because they want to announce it on transfer window deadline to appear like we did something.
  18. It's still on!!! :frantic: Don't think it was ever fully off. They hit an impasse over christmas/early new year which was reported. Game of who blinks first. Ashley blinked publically spitting the dummy out to try and pressure them and it's backfired. Imo.
  19. It's not rocket science either. I simply don't get the reticence. Improving the squad by 30m is going to increase the asking price while also making the club more attractive to buy. He would likely recoup the outlay and avert the huge loss he will take when we go down with no investment. Probably sat there saying it didn't work the last time with McLaren.
  20. Still showing improvement game to game. Like the lad.
