Had we signed Trafford, Guehi, Elanga, Paquetta and Ekitike I think lots of people would have called its a 9.5 transfer window. If all of them turned into flops after Christmas that would maybe change perception. I remember that first Allardyce summer (despite trying to block it out) and the transfer frenzy. PSR aside, we might be too close, but I dont think picking up another creative midfielder/versatile player like Bilal El Khannouss is out of the question. We have been running a player or two down of a stacked squad for a year or two.
