Think we would have someone blabbing by now if it was us that was in for him. Going abroad imo. Im hardly sold on him, but we could do alot worse. Considering we were talking about Alliadere and Kuqi a few months ago them hitting the opposite end of the spectrum with Gameiro and Gervinho, Bedneter would be about right for the standard we would be getting.

Exactly, he might be, infact he totally is speaking the truth but way to alienate some fans with a statement. He could have just said, "Charles has the ability to play at the biggest clubs, sometimes its seems like a mismatch with us and Charles because he is ahead of the club at that standard that we are working towards reaching." If Ashley or Lambias came out with that crap we would have a thread about it hitting the panic button about players wanting to leave, club has no ambition etc....

Gervinho, Gameiro, Erding, Rondon (who we apparently cooled interest in) and Papa Cisse?

The f*** I do. I "rule out" players because they're probably not coming. Simple. You can speculate all you want, he is not the type of player we are looking for. A striker who scores goals, we don't want those types in these parts. A nippy, speedy striker is what we're reportedly looking for. We have Ba and Ben Arfa who Pardew has said will be playing number 10, those two are pretty quick. Wouldn't be opposed to a big lad who can bully. Gameiro, Erdinc, Long - there is a pattern. We're definitely not after a big lad. Because you know that we aren't after anyone else behind the scenes don't you, Colin? (Sylvain Marveaux) Boring. f*** off. Soz like, I forgot you were the bastian of entertainment. What with your insightful views and such. Am I wrong though, Col? Could we possibly be after other players behind the scenes that the press have not yet gotten wind of? Such a c*** Yes, of course, but or main striker buy will be a striker in the mould of Gameiro, Erdinc and Long, surely. We may of course sign another striker as well, but I can't see us splashing as much as Bendtner would cost. All the local rags mentioned we were still looking to bring in another two strikers after Ba, just before we signed him. Can see us looking for a cheaper target man alternative to our main striker target. Chronicle hinted we will possibly pick up Long and our Continental target if the deals are right though.

Duh, that's why he came back.

With Taxfree on us looking for someone quicker ala Bellamy, that can harass defenders and work the channels, although I would be surprised if we werent looking for someone that was versatile enough to play up on his own too. Would have thought Ba and Ameobi (mabye Best if he is here) would be the physical target men from what we have. I know that is putting a worrying amount of faith in Ba's knee holding out so Ameobi doesnt have to play. I'd prefer to see us buying another winger that can also play further forward and a target man tbh. I think if we get another attacking winger we will have enough depth for a 4-3-3/4-5-1. Injuries to Ameobi/Ba and I am not sure who we would put up front.

He told me I was his son, how many children does he have?

Quite possible, I think if the price is right we will get him, if not we will press on with looking at other avenues/players.

Must have missed this one, probably a few pages back, couldn't see it though. We were strongly linked a couple of months back. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/14082372.stm Position and age wise the type of player I would have liked to see us bring in tbh.

Has said he wants to move to Schalke but the clubs havent agreed a fee yet?
-
If this is true which it almost certainly isn't. (surely would have packaged Rout in for straight or with cash swap) McGugan in Guthrie out imo I wouldn't ever rule this kind of signing out though. The powers that be have shown they will pick up a decent deal (Naylor, Gosling) if its on the table and the player has: a) potential b) is below the age of 23 c) will make the club money in the future. Whether we need him in terms of position doesn't always matter, ie Gosling.

Really? Was supposed to be coming here for a trial wasn't he? That was hearsay I guess. Making myself impartial I could see that Spain would be an easier choice, much more time on the ball, easier to adapt from the MLS, decent climate, wedge load of money. Not sure I agree on the quality, but to each their own.

Obviously meeting up with Campbell for a romantic getaway in a place no one would ever expect to see any of them.

Definitely sound like move is off. Would put a cryptic message like Big news on confirmed signing or positive news if it was the other way round. Interesting to see where we go next. Doesn't mean for sure we will be signing someone for less money either. Next target could easily be a bigger name or price tag but the board and scouts thought Erding was better value for money. As much as going down the list might mean quality wise, could well mean we are forced to shell out a little more than we wanted to. IE Papa Cisse.

It seems he has done some growing up since he left, both on and off the pitch. I am sure his both Charles and his agent know we want him but are waiting for a better deal. By all accounts he fancies us above other places, god knows why. That's not to say he wouldn't go anywhere else if they bid for him, but I think unless someone bids silly money we would match any bids made. Everyone seems to be under the impression his price tag is too high, so its a waiting game. When the first bid gets put in that will be the litmus test to if we really want him and if he really wants to come back to us. I am more confident about the former than the latter.

....and showing them the appropriate way to throw a strop and sulk, generally moan a lot then fall out with the staff. The usual.

Hey at least you have 3 big sports teams in the city. I have to travel 4 hours for NHL, 2 hours for CFL and 18 hours for MLS. Rather have a sucky team here than none! Despite rooting for the Whitecaps I think TFC are much better equipt for Concaf next year, Frings and Kooverman are decent signings. Don't know what has happened to De Guzman, shadow of his former self. Winter will turn things around there. Not a fan of Baseball so I can't offer any consolation about the Blue Jays. As for the Leafs, yeah they suck and look like they will continue to suck but when my team is the Oilers I feel your pain.

Just a message to anyone ITK. Wasn't Shea Salinas supposed to be somewhat decent when Vancouver drafted him? He is utter dog shite every time I have watched Vancouver. Can't see why he starts tbh.
-
Never would have happened if he had picked Canada instead of England. Canadian game would have been in a much better state too. ....Actually he probably would have shot himself sooner than his body giving out in that scenario. I know I wanted to buy a gun while watching the Gold Cup. Don't see him coming back to any Canadian MLS sides, although he might have little other option. I'm not sure how the designated player rule works but Toronto seem to already have at least 3 in Koovermans, De Guzman and Frings (I thought it was one per team?) Think Vancouver already have a couple, Montreal is an option maybe. US sides probably wouldn't take him as Canadians are considered a foreign player in the U.S. despite the opposite being true of American players in Canada. Definitely see some championship side taking a punt on him first.

I could live with that I would be pretty happy with that too, provided he isn't still "burnt out". Think he would do well up here. Likewise I would be pretty happy to see Enrique off to Barca. To be fair anywhere but Liverpool would be nice.

Yet by the sounds of things we want over a million for Lua Lua despite him being in the same situation. Double standards me thinks.

Good game yesterday, we played very defensive and hit on the break when we could. We don't have the attacking fluidity of many of the other sides but we do have a lot of fight and a couple of half decent technical players. We can't mark for s*** but can somehow get a foot in the right place when the ball is on the ground. That Asante played like a beast, no idea why she hasn't been playing every game, great DM. Ironically since my last post Kelly Smith was probably one of the worst players yesterday. Aluko is kinda a cross between Routledge and Ameobi with considerably less skill than both. Does alot of the hard work but turns into Jason Lee in and around the penalty box or providing a cross. Ellen White looked the part yesterday, overhead kick would have been a stunner and the lob was nicely done. Definately rather face the French than the Germans, either way we will be lucky to stay in, French are great attacking, we will be in pieces with every cross they put in and I don't think we can out score them.

OMG we are signing SHANE LONG!

Best won't sit on the bench like. He already bugged the hell out of Pardew to get a start last year, if we didnt have such a shit show up front and bunch of injuries he wouldn't have got as big a chance as he did either. I would keep him ahead of Lovelpants and Shola but reality is the former to will happily sit on the bench, Best wants to be playing every week, dont think he would get that here, matter of time before he asks for a move.

Thats if we have indeed bid 7m for him.
