Did we actually ascertain where he plays? I thought he was a winger, then an attacking central mid or striker, then after he officially joined a couple of interviews said that he views himself as a DM?

"In my day....." I personally don't have a problem with our buying policy. To say we have no ambition to win anything or improve makes no sense, Its cutting your nose off to spite your face. If Ashley is only looking to buy players cheap and sell them on then the players themselves have to be performing well and we have to be improving as a team to do that. I respect the fact you have seen this trend and been through worse and better owners but give the constant negativity a rest. The club might not be moving forward at the rate of Man City or Chelsea but we don't have those funds. I don't really see the problem with going about the way the club is being run to steadily improve, what other option do we have? Eventually we want to be in a position closer to where we wouldn't have to sell our best players if high bids come in, but if its right and it funds a larger improvement to the club then we have little choice. I don't know where you think we are as a club in world standing but if the likes of Manure, Arsenal, Liverpool and even Spurs (who are streaks ahead of us) can't keep their best players what chance do we have, if bigger clubs come in with big bids the players head will also be turned, when we start selling our best players consistently to clubs at our standard or lower then I will be concerned..for where we are now the players that leave us only leave for bigger clubs and unfortunately that is a way of the footballing world. Do you think if we had "showed some ambition" and signed Gameiro and he actually played consistently well for us that we wouldnt have Man City, Real Madrid or someone else knocking on the door in a year or so? I guess its win win because people could moan if that happened and if it didnt it would probably mean he didnt play well and was "yet another expensive waste of money" and another "foreign flop". Blame the scouts, blame the club. I have had my share of ambition under the previous regimes, none have heralded silverware and while big name signings came it only brought us closer to ultimate destruction. Our chance to be riding as a constant in the top four went out with SBR and a plethora of stupid decisions after his sacking. Until we get taken over by a mystery billionaire the best for forward is by creating our own stars and buying on the cheap and if you want to call us a selling club so be it, but every player at every club has a price so believe we are in good company.

Can't see why he has become such a cunt all of a sudden. To be honest we should be going out and buying someone to replace him. We need competition in that area anyway so if he does end up staying... a) its his fault he might not be starting every week. b) we have decent cover if one of them gets injured.

Were on the verge of going under. Daglish is assembling quite the squad of potentially decent home grown players. Thing is he has spent 80m too much on what could turn out to be a huge pile of wank.
-
Manure beat New England Revolution 4-1. Macheda bagged two and looked decent, don't know if he will get much of a look in this year but looks like he could do well for himself in the future. Big, strong, very decent finish and god with the ball at his feet was impressed even against poor opponents.
-
Can't believe that, more likely Brighton don't have the cash to spend now they got Mackail-Smith. would be decent to see him help Clarkie out though. Think he will still end up at Brighton on loan.

Link dismissed a few weeks back iirc.

What's with the press and media bum licking Barton all of a sudden, telegraph and especially the guardian article are actually printing papers from inside his ass today.

3m to get great young backup for either fullback positions would be fantastic business, not least because both Clyne and Taylor are both very highly rated. Would be delighted with Clyne, think he would really push Simpson at right back while at the same time dispelling the need to ever play Raylor there and give Tavernier a needed crack in the championship/league one on loan. Would be suprised if we are in for him though, he does tick all the boxes but it seems to be too logical, im sure they can stick with Raylor, Saylor, Tavernier and Simpson all being able to play at RB on paper.

Does it matter when he is free? They interrupted Mikes Ashleys lunch for this piece of new, HIS LUNCH!. -

Seems an unlikely one now. But Ziani is available for nowt. Think they would only be interested if Barton was off and we already have Barnetta as back up in that case. http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/8971/6/ziani-free-join-newcastle-after-wolfsburg-release -

What exactly do you mean by "you people"? I couldn't mean it like that, because there are no racial slurs for white people. -

Think we should get more than 1.5m for him, granted thats pretty much how much he has cost int he past, as mentioned, but his performances and stats in the championship over the past two years are more than decent, match winning tbh. Match winners should command a decent fee, he has years left in the tank too, not to mention the last two clubs he has been with have been promoted (forget the rest). -
Talk of Barton in cm Spans from his city days when he was fantastic and pulled all the strings, pissed all over us both times I watched us there. Sewelly is spot on though in terms of games for us. Slot depends on who is around him and how we are playing he needs time and space, as mentioned to flourish. From his time here there it's night and day between out on the right and through the middle, if we can ain't broke don't fix it.

Nasri and Modric are only getting warmed up.
-
Who the fuck is Wellington Silva? Seriously, could be work permit/visa issues.
-
He'll be Ba's partner at the start of next season no doubt. Way too positive, Ba will have knackered his knee by then and be out indefinitely.
-
Could see Cisse being a fallback option. I would imagine his price tag moved him down our list, but with options dwindling we might have to spend an extra bit of money to get who we want.
-
Tend to agree, although I think the Marveaux signing has totally cooled our interest in him unless the deal is right for us.
-
Think we would have someone blabbing by now if it was us that was in for him. Going abroad imo. Im hardly sold on him, but we could do alot worse. Considering we were talking about Alliadere and Kuqi a few months ago them hitting the opposite end of the spectrum with Gameiro and Gervinho, Bedneter would be about right for the standard we would be getting.
-
Exactly, he might be, infact he totally is speaking the truth but way to alienate some fans with a statement. He could have just said, "Charles has the ability to play at the biggest clubs, sometimes its seems like a mismatch with us and Charles because he is ahead of the club at that standard that we are working towards reaching." If Ashley or Lambias came out with that crap we would have a thread about it hitting the panic button about players wanting to leave, club has no ambition etc....
